00:00yes call me out i got filler right here and i'm not ashamed of that welcome to ms mojo where we'll
00:06be discussing artists who ended up becoming caricatures of themselves as their careers
00:11went on i don't think they're tough i think they're insane they're not tough they're just insane
00:19number 10. sabrina carpenter carpenter became a household name in 2024 after her album short and
00:26sweet dominated the charts it included the hit single espresso which was played to death
00:37one of the reasons she was so appealing was how sex positive she was something many women found
00:42refreshing in 2025 she announced a follow-up album man's best friend with a highly controversial cover
00:56running on me many criticized her for pandering to the male gaze there were defenders though
01:02who claimed it's a satire and a challenge to misogynistic ideals in response carpenter
01:08released a cover approved by god with none of the controversial elements of the original art
01:18so i'm using them amen hey man number nine bono u2 our thinking is that you just need one thing to
01:26agree with with somebody on to start a conversation and the fight against extreme poverty we thought was
01:32worth the conversation with uh with anybody bono is most famous for being the front man of the irish
01:39band u2 he also earned a reputation as an activist but some critics paint him as a bit of a hypocrite
01:46despite being an advocate for social justice he's been criticized by some for his efforts to improve
01:52conditions in some african countries there's a real feeling in america that the world does not
01:58understand what america's about tackling global health problems and extreme poverty problems meeting
02:04people where they live and trying to solve their problems for them his efforts to improve conditions
02:08bypass african businesses with the head of the small charity african aid action saying efforts like this
02:15have only increased poverty additionally bono's been known to avoid taxes which harms the less
02:21fortunate whom he considers himself a champion of it's irritating some people don't like the idea that
02:27companies can make profit but uh we want them to make profit on this because it makes it sustainable
02:33number eight green day
02:35back in the 90s green day was at the peak of the contrarian punk movement their raw angsty sound earned
02:45them a huge following but as their careers went on they became the exact type of rock band the punk
02:51movement was meant to challenge their 21st century releases feel like a rehash of rebellion making the
02:58band appear like they're simply cosplaying their younger selves their music also feels increasingly
03:03formulaic with almost none of the energy they used to have
03:13currently they feel like they're struggling to stay cool and mainstream rather than just being
03:18themselves without caring what others think as a true punk should
03:22how high is your lower as far as i can go number seven madonna she's been called the queen of pop
03:30and for good reason for decades she was one of the best-selling musicians globally in her prime
03:36she constantly reinvented her image style and persona
03:46as time passed these reinventions felt less and less authentic feeling more like an attempt to stay
03:52relevant rather than being creatively inspired now she frequently tries collaborating with younger artists
03:58like drake to stay relevant these efforts often come across as tone deaf and forced not helping her image
04:11still madonna was a trailblazer and we have to appreciate her immense contributions to the industry
04:17we just wish she were still as creative as she used to be i'm gonna um start with um dating younger men
04:24how about that you guys think that's funny yep you guys funny yeah you do don't you okay number six
04:33eminem in the early 2000s eminem became known as one of the most savage rappers in the game
04:44his early music was revolutionary but over time his outrageous persona had felt increasingly repetitive
04:50he's still technically gifted but he seems to prioritize speed and the complexity of rhyme schemes
04:56rather than lyrical substance he's also no longer untouchable now he feels like he's begging for a
05:07fight daring people to diss him but no one really cares about insulting an old man eminem still pretends
05:14he's hip-hop's apex predator but that was over 20 years ago i'm about to reach in my back
05:25number five morrissey
05:33as frontman of the smiths morrissey considers himself a working-class hero now he's a vocal supporter of
05:40far-right nationalist movements he went from being the charming man to the elderly relative who gets
05:45overly political at christmas dinners you know it's the same it's the same old suit and tie and
05:51you never see somebody who is absolutely what is that who is this person how interesting they look
05:58they all look so uniform and tons of his fans feel betrayed by his political leanings and how hostile he
06:04appears towards modern culture for instance he was once spotted wearing a for britain badge in a
06:09performance for those unaware even one of britain's most right-wing politicians nigel farage called it
06:16a party of nazis and racists it feels like he cherishes being a divisive figure as if he's doing
06:22it on purpose to stay relevant i'm not a fan of modern music at all i don't hear anything interesting
06:29that's all i don't i don't hear anything interesting the sam smith doesn't no i think it's time to
06:38rapidly move on number four megan trainer in 2014 trainer's debut single all about that bass became
06:46a global hit selling over 11 million copies it was a wonderfully wholesome track about body positivity
06:59telling women not to feel ashamed if they didn't conform to beauty standards since then she's gone
07:04against her message using a weight loss truck to get thin alongside getting breast implants here's
07:10another clickbait move i'm trying to make i'm getting a boob job oh yay congratulations it's her body
07:19she can do what she wants with it but it feels like a betrayal of the message of all about that bass
07:25trainer became known for challenging beauty standards but now that she conforms to them
07:30she's nowhere near as popular i mean it's gonna be huge for my confidence oh no i'm just getting a
07:35lift you know what i mean maybe a little maybe a little implant just so they're like we are boobs
07:39because right now they are not number three snoop dogg few rappers are as universally known as snoop dogg
07:45so what you wanna do i got a pocket full of rubbers in my heart boys do too in their early 90s he became
07:52huge in the west coast hip-hop scene now he hosts game shows with martha stewart and has a brand of
07:58cereal making him feel more like a product than a rapper what makes him stand out from the other
08:03entries is how aware he is of it snoop leans completely into the image and it's earned him millions
08:10see what the signs say right here this is not a kicking spot if you don't have any business in here
08:17get out for example in 2023 he made headlines by announcing that he was giving up smoke many were
08:23concerned for his health but it turned out just to be an advertising campaign for smokeless stoves i'm
08:29going smokeless solo stole fix five they took out the smoke clever number two drape as his career has
08:39gone on canadian rapper drake has arguably become the king of an artist parodying themselves in his
08:45early years he came across like the sensitive lover but now he seems to recycle the same themes over and
08:51over ever since i left the city you you you do and me we just don't get along his early vulnerability
08:59was groundbreaking but now it feels entirely disingenuous he's also tried to make himself
09:05look like the underdog in tracks like started from the bottom even though as a successful
09:10teenage actor he would have made some money working all night traffic on the way home and my uncle
09:15calling me like his beef with titan kendrick lamar was also majorly embarrassing kendrick came at him
09:22with surgical precision and drake's response was poorly worded deflections many of the responses had the
09:28opposite effect that drake intended seriously hurting his reputation does drake have a a stance
09:35where he feels like it's a defamation of character i don't know he got bruised he didn't get killed
09:41before we unveil our top pick here are a few honorable mentions limp biscuit still sucks shows they prefer
09:48to mock their legacy rather than evolve weezer cuomo's tracks still sound like a romantically frustrated
10:01teen despite being married you don't remember you don't remember why don't you remember my name
10:09ice spice her recent tracks feel like a desperate attempt to keep viral

10:31and switch on notifications number one katy perry
10:43in the late 2000s katy perry was a pop powerhouse now she's a desperate trend chaser with only a
10:49fraction of her previous popularity her 2024 album 143 was an absolute disaster its lead single was the
10:57highly controversial woman's world produced by alleged abuser dr luke some fans are calling katie
11:02out for working with producer dr luke on her female empowerment anthem i don't know the comments are
11:07crazy what are they saying mood day everybody has a feeling it was feminist but in the lowest effort way
11:14possible the music video was highly scandalous with all her dancers having the same body type it felt like
11:20it was entirely appealing to the male gaze with little empowerment a generic attempt to relive her past
11:26glory it instead highlighted how far she'd fallen from grace there's a lot of people that are like
11:32she's awful she should go you can't win them all i think it's actually better not to win them all
11:36because that means that you have a point of view were there any singers we forgot who you thought
11:41should have made the cut let us know in the comments below we are who we are having secretly decided who
11:47who we'd like to be
