00:05or even a funny moment together i remember one funny moment um so so i had to fake punch a guy
00:14and he had to dodge but something happened and he didn't touch in the right moment and just
00:22my hand is just landed on his jaw

00:51give a warm welcome to ron chan and anastasia dimchenko hi hello let's give this time for
01:02ron and anastasia to maybe say a few words or maybe messages to our pep viewers please go ahead
01:10oh okay me too okay all right so uh please watch our movie uh john show nuclear winter so it will
01:17it will be shown uh in the philippines uh on september 10 so it's like a few weeks uh
01:25two weeks actually yeah two weeks from now yeah
01:31philippines come to see our movie from 10th september in all theaters across philippines see you there
01:40yes thank you so much we're excited to see your movie and it's only it's only like two weeks left
01:49right that's right how are you guys feel how are you guys feeling let's start with maybe anastasia first
01:58right yeah okay um i'm very much excited it's my first international project and especially first role
02:08where i play and action and play secret spy agents and um yeah for september we have a big premiere in
02:18manila and i just can't wait to see that how about you ron since you're also the person behind the movie
02:26yeah of course excited thrilled um hopefully you know um this will be a successful one um we are not
02:36expecting actually too much but uh this this is you know for us uh it's it's a good one so um we are we
02:46are actually um trying to like um share uh this story because it's relevant right now and um hopefully
02:57uh people will you know will uh watch this movie yeah and speaking of johnshaw nuclear winter can you
03:05guys tell us what is it all about yeah so uh anesthesia you want to okay um yeah yeah all right yeah go
03:16yeah so this actually an action thriller where a secret group is trying to manipulate government
03:24leaders from the u.s uh to trigger to start a nuclear war so it's a kind of like global tension between
03:32the russian north korea iran and uh the u.s it's an exciting action film
03:42how about your characters what can what can we know about your characters without maybe spoiling anything
03:48yeah me i'm playing the secret service agent and i try to manipulate government leaders from the
03:56a.s to start the nuclear war i'm very cold manipulating uh calculated so she's a very powerful
04:08director in the story for ron yeah so i'm a government contractor um it's i'm i'm
04:18also you know previously an agent and then i'm helping the government uh solve prices especially
04:25this one um the um conflict between russia and other countries against the u.s and its allies yeah
04:35how would you say your characters are maybe like uh does your characters reflect your own personalities
04:44in a way uh i can say about my character she's in some way she's very far from me because she's very cold
04:57and uh she's very yeah cold-blooded and manipulative but from the other side she's a very strong
05:08character feminine character in a man's world and um maybe that part is kind side with me yeah
05:19i was just um wondering um anastasia you have like a russian background right right and ron are you
05:27like um what's your an american or no uh filipino filipino yes yes russian and filipino so i'm just
05:40wondering how did you guys build up chemistry with that different culture yeah you know like we have been
05:50exposed to uh here in the uae you know other countries that we deal with different nationalities
05:57different cultures different people so uh we know how to deal with you know uh different cultures already
06:04so that's uh not new to us and uh especially we are very open because of our experience here
06:10uh that we respect uh the culture of everyone so that's why uh it's it's not uh you know difficult
06:17for us we have many different actors yeah it's um in our movie we have uh many filipino actors of course
06:30and uh we have uh people from egypt uh actors people from lebanon yes i remember from
06:40pakistan too so this is like an international cast there and yeah it's very funny thanks to our
06:48daniel galli he's our director and ron chan they i think they made our whole uh set um feel like a
06:58family feel like a real team yeah okay and just a follow-up question for you anastasia um you've
07:06mentioned that you've been working with different filipinos already so how does it feel what what was
07:13it like working with filipinos um i think they're one of the kindest and warmest people i ever met in
07:24my life and uh what i can say they welcome you like a family when i even came to manila they made me like
07:32i'm part of their family and they're the people with the big hearts yeah wow that's so sweet thank
07:41you so much now um here's a question for ron ron um they were actually hailing you as a potential
07:49breakout star for this movie how does this make you feel and do you feel any pressure about it
07:57for these high expectations um i don't have you know too much expectation so uh there's no pressure
08:04uh it's just a matter of you know it's fun uh um i love doing it you know so it's just uh the interest
08:12um the you know our uh vision to um work on this project whatever the outcome will be you know
08:21regardless of what will happen uh and we will continue to do that as long as you know we have
08:28the resources to do that so so it's just a matter of you know having fun you know i'd like to go back
08:35long about your uh characters uh you mentioned uh building chemistry was kind of easy since uh the
08:43cast were all like family but what was the most challenging part of portraying your characters
08:49first anastasia first for me it was um the kind of that i had to learn how to do some stands some
09:01martial arts stage combat that i've never done in my life yes and i think that was the most challenging
09:08part yes that's uh ron chen he actually he helped me i think he's a good uh uh in choreography in the
09:17stage combat and uh he showed me how to do many stunts and kicks and punches yes
09:27did you guys do uh all your stunts your own on your own like or did you guys have like
09:34stuntmen or stunt doubles to help you with your characters uh yeah we we did it uh you know
09:40everything uh on our own yeah we don't we don't have too much uh risky or dangerous stance so we we
09:47keep it you know as safe as possible and uh we are we we did the shooting only in on green screen
09:55so it's not really a big a very big room so it's just enough you know for us to move you'd like to see
10:02those action and all yeah yeah so anastasia already mentioned about working with the director danny uh
10:14can you guys share like how was your experience working with him was his like was he like a strict
10:20director or did he did he give you so many many uh like tips on how to do your roles or how to tackle
10:27the roles in the film yeah i think danny he helped a lot he's very focused and he's very creative
10:36and he sees like a big picture and for me he helped me a lot in some things that i didn't understand
10:44what to do how to act here and he managed me softly you know but also he gave me like
10:51um um he gave me he trusted me sometimes i wanted to try something on my own so he gave me a freedom
11:00to try it he's very open to suggestions yes how about ron yeah well direct danny you know um this is
11:11our first project that we we are we uh we have been you know doing so um it's of course uh very open you
11:20know and uh we always talk about how to do things especially um we have different uh you know things
11:28that um we are like exposed to he has the experience in terms of filmmaking i don't have any although i
11:37wrote the story so sometimes you know in terms of imagination i'm imagining the uh the scene in my
11:44mind because i i wrote the story so we share how to um you know translate that into something that
11:51people can see in in the film yeah okay um i just i'm just wondering because for every movie i know
12:01that you have like this special or favorite behind the scene or favorite scene together or maybe um your
12:09own favorite scene um can you tell us about your favorite scene or behind the scene and what makes
12:16this special or even a funny moment together can we start with anastasia yes uh i remember one funny
12:25moment um so so i had to fake punch a guy and uh he had to dodge but something happened and he didn't
12:36dodge in the right moment and just my hand is just landed on his jaw and it was such like a loud sound
12:45and of course i gave like thousands of my excuses and we laughed afterwards but it was so awkward and
12:54um actually the danny director he told that maybe we can use this scene as uh his reaction to this because
13:02uh it was uh it was so authentic you know when i punched him and uh but oh my god i felt so awkward
13:09and uh you know yeah that was so it was was the guy okay was it a full blow no no no uh it was like a
13:23full blow and really really strong and yeah uh guy yes he he felt okay yes it's i think it hurts a little bit but
13:32uh i felt so sorry yes well that happens and i wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that
13:42much no
13:47how about you ron uh well yeah i have uh i had fun with uh of course uh with the team you know uh i'm i'm not
13:57always i was not always uh in the set uh because i i allowed them to you know do their part and and so
14:04on so i only go there when i'm needed because i have a lot of other things to do so uh yeah but when
14:10i'm there you know uh we had fun and then especially the other guys they are really uh committed into
14:18you know doing uh stuff so yeah uh it's it's really uh great so my next question is maybe this
14:26is for ron what led you or what made you decide to pursue this film yeah well uh i love movies so
14:36that's why you know i was thinking you know uh this is one uh opportunity that uh we have we can we can
14:42uh push through you know and uh also uh i'm i'm thinking of uh helping our community our rich
14:51wind dev community so later on at least because we have some students who are part of this movie
14:57uh we we have some parents also who are part of the movie and because before we started we shared this
15:04to our community to our parents to our students who may be willing to to join so some of them join
15:12and uh you know although this is the first time that they did uh filmmaking as well so you know it
15:20was it's really you know like uh fun because uh we we were able to to uh you know like um agree on
15:30some things although we do not have didn't have experience uh before uh through the guidance of of
15:36course the experience of direct danny um uh serpins who is uh doing our you know visual effects and
15:43his experience in uh you know doing camera angles you know uh and and so on scenes so we were able to
15:51to uh you know uh complete complete this movie yeah curious question for ron since when did you film the
16:00movie was it last year no that we we started actually in march although i was in singapore that
16:07time so but we were we were just uh exploring about uh what options because i was thinking before okay
16:14we will use ai uh because we have uh you know it's it's difficult to get people um we of course we will
16:21we'll contact some people if they are interested and others the resources uh that we need um we still do
16:29not know where we can find them and so on so we started small uh and then we experimented in terms
16:35of uh the tools that we will be using uh so that we can do it faster and especially we are we are you
16:42know planning well that time we were planning to do it on green screen so we already know the limitations
16:48that uh we could uh you know um will be we would be uh doing um going through so that's why um
16:56um doing some experimentations if this can be done if not or something like that looking for options
17:04and um well we we did uh solve some problems and some you know uh we had to stop uh the plan and then
17:14change into something that we can we you know we could do and uh at the end of the day uh we were able
17:21to finish uh you know the movie um of course we learned a lot and uh we will be using you know
17:27those uh lessons learned in our next project so we will keep on improving yeah yeah sounds like
17:35another question for ron since you mentioned it was just last march you guys worked on this film
17:42um but was the current situation global situation like affected or was a fact was it a factor why you
17:51chose the theme of the film since well that's one yeah yeah that's one of the reasons uh because we
17:59we already you know had well i finished like around three uh stories already uh we decided to
18:06uh do the uh the uh first story that i wrote and then we uh because that's for valentine's day and
18:17uh we we thought that you know we we couldn't uh do that on time so we decided to uh go for this one
18:24uh there there's another one that we have it's like uh fantasy you know um but again that's that's
18:31difficult one because there's a lot of uh complicated characters and environments that we
18:36have you know we have to go through so and uh this is you know like this movie is uh the story is
18:43relevant also um especially what's happening right now so uh i think uh that's why you know we decided
18:50okay we will go for this because this is easier than you know the other ones yeah i see sounds like
18:58you've really went through a lot just to finish this film right but it feels very rewarding
19:04right after you know completing this and everything okay so um you've mentioned ron that this is your
19:11first time i was wondering what's your career like before doing this and how did you get into acting
19:21um okay so well um i'm from a chemical engineering background okay so from cebu and then uh i uh of
19:34course i i worked before and then i opened my business so i'm running a school business an it business
19:42uh project management business you know um different types of businesses and then i decided to open this
19:49one uh the entertainment business movies and others you know so that uh of course because this is one
19:56of the the areas that i have i i like so that's why uh we push this so basically like in the last uh
20:05six years i've been doing business a lot so um when was the moment when you feel like okay i wanted to
20:14pursue acting um when we decided to to do this movie because like i was thinking uh because of the
20:22limited resources uh i have to be the main character because uh if there's no other uh i mean there are
20:30no other resources that we can get uh i'll i'll always be there because this is my project right so
20:36uh in that case um i can find a way to solve you know this problem if uh if something happens so
20:44that's why i decided to do it myself so so that uh really pushed me to uh you know to do the acting
20:52yeah thank you so much ron now i'd like to ask anastasia i'd like to ask anastasia the same question
21:00can you tell us a little bit background of yourself how you got into acting i started as a model
21:10i've been working in china and in italy for quite many years and then i think when i was in milan in
21:17italy i find out my life my love my love into acting and i've got some roles in music video clips
21:29in some advertising campaigns and from there i decided to study acting i went to london and i took
21:39acting course then from there my love for acting started and came from hobby to the real work so
21:48nowadays it's my main occupation i saw your website i did some research
21:56and i'm yes i saw your modeling portfolio i was so surprised that you got to work with a lot of
22:04brands what was it like to you what was the experience like working as a model
22:10oh it was amazing yes i worked with many brands like max mara kevin klein roberto cavalli and
22:19um i did some fashion shows uh campaigns and at that time it was amazing yes but then i realized that
22:29i have something inside within me that i want to show to people that i have a lot inside that i can
22:35show into into modeling but i can show it in the acting yes if you would choose between acting and modeling
22:46which one would you pick well yes i already picked acting yes and that's my main occupation i do sometimes
22:57modeling for some brands still in dubai in europe they still ask me to model for them but um that's more
23:06like a hobby yes but i could do this both together it's kind of goes together yeah having um
23:15a russian background or nationality do you think it was an advantage or disadvantage doing this role in
23:24this movie i think it was advantage yes i think it kind of suits me and i actually i always wanted to
23:37play some action role because uh before i was playing like a mother or some wife or sometimes they give me
23:50like scandalous woman roles but i never never tried the like action role so i think for me it suits me and it
24:01sees my character and i and i could really shows my showed my talents into this role how can i transform from
24:11being like uh kind of like i don't know sometimes like i'm cute in the role sometimes i'm positive and
24:20sometimes in this role i can be really cold and manipulating and yeah coming from what anastasia said what
24:30are your dream roles oh my dream roles wow i haven't thought about it um i actually would like to play
24:42more action roles i really like that i never thought i would like it but um yeah i think i would like to
24:51play more of the action roles yes maybe in parts of you yeah in the future so
25:00yeah or a superhero maybe yes superhero yes oh actually maybe one of the roles i would love to play
25:09um i really admire marilyn monroe and angeline jolly is her movies yes i would like to play some
25:17um some feminine roles strong character yeah let's see where life goes
25:26like lara croft angelina jody absolutely yes how about see sirron well yeah action you know uh
25:36action roles i believe that uh easier to do than you know the crying and so so yeah i think uh you know
25:45because uh i i have experience in terms of sports i mean uh martial arts and so on so i i think it's
25:51easier for me sir ron question after this one do you have any um next project or what what's the next
26:00project that you'd like to tackle next yeah we have many in the pipeline so um we already have the part
26:07two you know of uh the part two of uh movie of this one uh because this is again uh as i mentioned
26:13already the uh this is a um like a franchise john show so there's already a part two and then we have
26:20another uh movie fantasy so that's uh also coming uh we already i already uh like uh finished like i think
26:29uh two or three uh stories uh for that uh i i we have uh one comedy i already have the story as well
26:37and then um the first one the first movie that i wrote so that's uh like action and uh love story
26:44so that's uh those are actually waiting so after this then we will be you know starting those how are
26:50you managing your time sir ron champion you're balancing your work as an engineer still right
26:56uh not anymore so i'm doing business yeah so well it's it's uh for now especially that we are doing
27:05this project is it's quite hectic but there are lots of people who are helping me especially you know
27:12derek danny for example sir beans and the other guys who are assigned to their respective uh you know
27:19uh job positions and so on so so they're doing uh you know uh their part so i'm just overseeing uh you
27:28know whatever i can so so that's uh yeah that's that's fine is it is the film throwing the other
27:37maybe parts of the world or the philippines the philippines is just the start yeah um it will be in in
27:45the us uh uk you know and other countries so when we we actually plan to start in the us um now we we
27:54got uh the booking first in the philippines so that's why we're focusing uh the show in the philippines
28:00and then after that uh we will go to the us to promote the movie so we are starting to contact some
28:07people in the you know in the us in the uk of course middle east uh here so we are also targeting you
28:14know uh to show the uh the movie here yeah so are there plans to film the sequel in other countries
28:24uh yes we are thinking about that that's something that we have to consider in the next uh you know
28:29movies that that we'll be doing especially the time uh requirements that uh we need to consider
28:37and also you know the environments uh and so on but uh we we are still considering are still you know
28:43we we still have to to talk about it uh because uh of course uh we still do not know uh which areas
28:51will be you know uh going and so on the permits that's one of the uh things that we have to be
28:57careful because we cannot just you know shoot without permits so yeah so that's that's something
29:04that we have to talk about i i have a question for anastasia you're you're in the philippines right
29:09yes i'm in manila right now yeah we're exactly in philippines or we're in manila okay now um how long
29:20have you been staying here oh i think eight days for now already yes it's quite a long time so for that
29:30eight days stay here in manila how was it like and what was there any do you have any favorite food
29:40or culture or favorite places to visit here in manila uh yes food definitely i got to try many local
29:52food and i think one of my favorite was adobo as i remember it's like chicken
30:00singan i got to try and uh sinigan sinigan and uh paya is a dessert yeah i think it's one of my
30:09favorites yeah so yeah i do a lot of sport here just not to you know to be in a shape yeah and uh yeah
30:19i discovered uh manila uh just i think yesterday i went to intramuros if i say right fort santiago for
30:29santiago yes but one of the yeah one of the most beautiful uh parts of it that i saw taal taal volcano
30:42couple days ago and i was just amazed i was just in awe it's so beautiful it's this nature you wouldn't
30:52imagine that this is just like couple hours from manila you could see this beauty yeah i think you
30:57should also try balut have you heard about it oh my god they they already yeah pushed me to try it like
31:04one week yeah about it we are talking about it but i've i haven't seen it in life but i saw the pictures
31:12and it looks pretty strange i'm not sure yeah we'll see i'll see yeah there's a lot more to try
31:22and a lot of people really eat it or it's just yeah it's good
31:26and it's happy good for your body good for hell oh my gosh we'll see
31:35you should think about it i should think i should think about it yes just don't look at it when
31:41you're trying it don't look at it yes yes just close my eyes yeah yeah close your eyes
31:48and imagine imagine that chicken soup yeah
31:56yeah so but for anastasia if you could have a day or maybe a few days here in the philippines apart
32:02from exploring manila which islands would you like to visit i'm actually sure that palawan is beautiful
32:10and it has beautiful beaches but i'm not sure that it's the right the right time to go now because
32:16it's like the raining season so maybe i should come back i would love to come back but we're going
32:23to cebu and i i've heard that this is also quite a beautiful island it has white sands beautiful beaches
32:31so yes yes i think sir ron is from cebu yeah right yes what are you taking anastasia in cebu if ever or
32:41maybe suggest well it depends uh because you know we will be there on the 30th so i'm not sure uh if
32:50we have enough time so if we have then uh well again you know there are beaches there and so on so
32:57we can go around but then again because of the uh weather right now so i'm not sure about that but we
33:04will be you know going around i'm hoping i'm praying for good weather so anastasia enjoy exploring
33:13the island right okay for our last part we'd like you guys to invite our viewers to to watch the film
