00:00We got a handful of songs to sing you, can't stop my voice when it longs to sing you, new songs and blues songs and songs to bring you happiness, no more no less, ba-da-da-do-da-do-da-do-da-do-da-do-do.
00:24Hi there. Hello. We're starting today with Rupert, because you've sent really hundreds and hundreds of drawings and pictures and paintings of Rupert the Bear.
00:32Hmm. We could really show you Rupert pictures every week, but the prize for the biggest Rupert ever must go to Robin Smith with his lovely painting in watercolours.
00:42Unfortunately, the picture was folded up and sent off to us before the paint had really dried, so it stuck together a bit, but it still looks smashing.
00:49Hmm. Now we're going to show you as many Rupert pictures as we can before I sing the song. Ready?
00:56Number two is from Gillian Haig, who's also drawn a cat and a dog.
01:01And number three is from Jeanette Young, who has beautiful, neat writing.
01:05Hmm. Rupert number four is by Simon J. Dunn.
01:09Oh, I think they ought to call him Adolf the Bear with a moustache like that.
01:12Now number five is a lovely little Rupert from Heather Cumming.
01:17And here's just time for one more.
01:19Gosh, six Rupert's. Six Rupert's?
01:21Yes.
01:22We have done well.
01:23The last one here is from Lara.
01:26And now I think I ought to sing the song.
01:28Great.
01:28There's a little bear like you've never seen before.
01:35He's a lot of fun.
01:38Every girl and boy likes to see him more and more.
01:41He's their number one.
01:43There's a million stories to be told about the things that he's done.
01:50And he's going to share them all with you.
01:53So come along.
01:57Rupert, Rupert the Bear, everyone sing his name.
02:03Rupert, Rupert the Bear, everyone come and join in all of his games.
02:13There is Badger Bill and Little Tiger Lily too and a whole lot more.
02:22They're all Rupert's friends and they're waiting here for you.
02:26So unlock the door.
02:27Rupert, Rupert, Rupert the Bear, everyone sing his name.
02:47Rupert, Rupert the Bear, everyone come and join in all of his games, in all of his games, in all of his games.
03:05Now Rupert is the most popular character for your paintings.
03:11My favourite pictures are those for a song called When I First Came to This Land.
03:16Can you have a look at these pictures when I sing the song for you?
03:18OK.
03:21When I first came to this land, I was not a wealthy man.
03:26So I got myself a shack and I did what I could.
03:31And I called my shack, break my back.
03:34All the land was sweet and good and I did what I could.
03:39When I first came to this land, I was not a wealthy man.
03:44So I got myself a cow and I did what I could.
03:49And I called my cow, no milk now.
03:51And I called my shack, break my back.
03:54All the land was sweet and good and I did what I could.
03:58When I first came to this land, I was not a wealthy man.
04:04So I got myself a wife and I did what I could.
04:08And I called my wife, run for your life.
04:11And I called my cow, no milk now.
04:13And I called my shack, break my back.
04:16All the land was sweet and good and I did what I could.
04:20When I first came to this land, I was not a wealthy man.
04:26So I got myself a son and I did what I could.
04:30And I called my son, my work's done.
04:34And I called my wife, run for your life.
04:37And I called my cow, no milk now.
04:39And I called my shack, break my back.
04:41All the land was sweet and good and I did what I could.
04:46Didn't they look a happy family?
04:50They did, yes.
04:51Now I've got a picture here by Philip Smith.
04:54And the sign over the window says Pet Shop.
04:56Can you guess what song Philip wants me to sing, Keith?
04:58Ah, well, if that's a dog in the shop,
05:01then I should think that Philip wants to know
05:03how much is that doggy in the window?
05:05Right, first time.
05:06How much is that doggy in the window?
05:14The one with the waggly tail.
05:17How much is that doggy in the window?
05:21I do hope that doggy's for sale.
05:25I must take a trip to California
05:28and leave my poor sweetheart alone.
05:32If he has a dog, he won't be lonely.
05:35And the doggy will have a good home.
05:40I don't want a bunny or a kitten.
05:43Meow.
05:44I don't want a parrot that talk.
05:46Meow.
05:47I don't want a bowl of little fishes.
05:51Because you can't take a goldfish for a walk.
05:54How much is that doggy in the window?
05:58The one with the waggly tail.
06:02How much is that doggy in the window?
06:05I do hope that doggy's for sale.
06:10Now, our own artists have done some marvellous pictures
06:14of a long-haired lover from Liverpool.
06:16But although Keith's hair is getting quite long,
06:19he doesn't come from Liverpool.
06:21Well, neither did Jimmy Osmond.
06:23I'm sure you won't mind if I sing the song, would you?
06:25No.
06:25Righto.
06:26Off you go.
06:26I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
06:31And I'll do anything you say.
06:35I'll be your clown or your puppet or your April Fool
06:38If you'll be my summer daisy from L.A.
06:41I'll be your leprechaun and sit upon an old, old stool
06:45I'll serenade you till I'm old and grey
06:47I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
06:51Be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
06:54I'll be your lovely daisy on a mountainside
06:59But there were lots of other flowers too
07:02But all the other flowers hung their heads and cried
07:06Because the loveliest of all of them was you
07:09Since you were obviously the exception to the rule
07:12I picked you quickly then I ran away
07:15I was your long-haired lover from Liverpool
07:18You were my sunshine daisy from L.A.
07:23I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
07:26I'll do anything you ask
07:29I'll be your clown or your puppet or your April Fool
07:33Cut my hair or even wear a mask
07:35I'll be your valentine and you'll be mine
07:38And things will be cool
07:39And we'll be going together every day
07:42I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
07:45You'll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
07:49You'll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
07:55Oh, I enjoyed that.
07:56Yes, I did that.
07:56But we haven't sung a song together yet.
07:58Got any ideas?
07:59Yes, how about Paper of Pins?
08:01We haven't sung that for a long, long time.
08:02Oh, yes.
08:03Right.
08:05Do I start off soon?
08:06You start off, I think you do.
08:07I should really be on one knee
08:08because this is where I propose marriage, isn't it?
08:10But I can't really play guitar down there.
08:12Can I?
08:12Never mind.
08:13I can turn you down just as easily where you are.
08:15Yeah, I thought you'd say that.
08:19I'll give to you a paper of pins
08:21If that's the way true love begins
08:24If you'll marry, marry, marry, marry
08:27If you'll marry me
08:28I'll not accept your dress of red
08:37I'll give to you a dress of red
08:41Stitched all around with a golden thread
08:44If you'll marry, marry, marry, marry, marry
08:46If you'll marry me
08:48I'll not accept your dress of red
08:51Stitched all around with a golden thread
08:54I'll not marry, marry, marry, marry, marry
08:56I'll not marry
08:58I'll give to you the key to my chest
09:01And all the money that I possess
09:03If you'll marry, marry, marry, marry
09:06If you'll marry me
09:08Yes, I'll accept the key to your chest
09:11And all the money that you possess
09:13Yes, I'll marry, marry, marry, marry
09:16Yes, I'll marry you
09:18Ha, ha, ha
09:20Money is all
09:21A woman's love
09:22It's nothing at all
09:23And I'll not marry, marry, marry, marry
09:26I'll not marry you
09:27He'll not marry me
09:30No, I'll not marry her
09:32So there
09:33I deserve that
09:35Now we all deserve another picture
09:38We do
09:38And the last one today is from Julian Burgess
09:41Who wants to sing Bell Horses
09:43Good idea
09:44Bell Horses, Bell Horses
09:49Oh, what time of day?
09:52One o'clock, two o'clock
