00:00Why do so many South African stars like AB de Villiers, Quentin de Kock and Henry Klassin
00:06retire early, while proven legends like Fabio places are often overlooked?
00:12I think every case is isolated. In AB's case, it was probably just burnout. I think, you know,
00:18he plays all formats. And I think the biggest thing about AB is that he can't go at anything
00:25less than 100%. So whether it's a warm up game, whether it's a proper game, I think from a
00:31physical point of view, that obviously puts a lot of strain on him. I think from a mental point of
00:36view, it was take a lot of strain as well. And then obviously going to the IPL, the expectation there,
00:42again, what, two months of hard cricket, very tough cricket. For the other guys, I don't understand
00:51why. I understand obviously when Korni retired from Test cricket, he wanted to focus more on
00:56white ball cricket to maybe prolong his, you know, career. I'm not even sure if he's still available
01:01to play T20 cricket or not, which is bizarre because obviously he's such a good player. Heinrich Klassin,
01:07obviously personal decisions play a massive part in it. I still feel he had a lot to offer,
01:12especially the white ball formats. And then with regards to someone like Pfaff, he's still
01:17currently available to play T20 cricket. He's still consistently scoring runs in every league
01:23that he's gone to at the tender age of 41, I think he is.
