00:00I must say, big fan of the 50th,
00:02a few months ago.
00:03It's kind of a...
00:04Here we don't see it in the same way as the States, SNL.
00:07You've really got to dig for it,
00:08but I've been a big fan for many, many years.
00:10Never get tired of you and Sandberg hooking up,
00:13so this must have been a very easy yes.
00:16Am I right?
00:17It was a very, very easy yes.
00:19It was wonderful.
00:20I mean, every part was more exciting than the next,
00:24and I just... it was a dream.
00:26It's an interesting kind of culture clash of a movie.
00:29How fascinating is that from you as an American comedian
00:34to seeing these two very different forms of kind of comedy side by side,
00:40these two different forms of kind of insulting side by side.
00:44I guess it was just like being a kid in a candy store.
00:48It was amazing because I really... this is true.
00:51It was really... it was like some sort of symposium
00:54or academic conference on the differences
00:57between British and American humor.
01:00Whenever the cameras would stop rolling,
01:02we would delve into the history of British comedy,
01:06the history of American comedy, what made it so,
01:09and just talking to Jamie Dimitriou about...
01:15and watching Andy Samberg and Jamie Dimitriou talk about...
01:18it was like... I felt like I was at a conference in the best way.
01:23Yeah.
01:24It's like watching like a comedy Oppenheimer in a way.
01:26Yes, yes, yes.
01:27Without the explosions of the death.
01:28Sure, sure, sure.
01:29And all of the boring bits in between.
01:30I don't know.
01:31Hooking up with Jay.
01:33I mean, he's responsible for some of the funniest movies of my upbringing.
01:37Yes.
01:38Austin Powers, Meet the Parents.
01:40What was his like... his working mechanisms like?
01:44Because I guess when you're working with talent like you guys,
01:46you've got to give you a bit of rope in a way,
01:48rather than like reining you in so much.
01:50That's exactly his... like his best attribute, I think.
01:53The rope that he gives and the gentleness that he affords.
01:58And he really just gets a kick out of people
02:01and lets them tickle themselves.
02:04And that sounds dirty.
02:06Anyway...
02:07There's some tickling in the movie.
02:09There's some almost tickling between you and Benedict Cumberbatch.
02:11Sure.
02:12Well, what do you mean?
02:13The world swoons.
02:14That wasn't in the script.
02:15No, I'm kidding.
02:16That was in the... that was very much in the script.
