00:00Riders in position then on the grid, 18 laps ahead of us, and a pit stop of course, midway through, plenty to look forward to here, best action of the weekend thus far was yesterday, bit of a hold here, before this race two, but we are now just about ready to get underway, race two of the 2025 Australian round in the Supersport class is go, not the best of starts from the middle of the front row from Marcel Schrotter, certainly been picked off by Stefano Manzi,
00:29the Yamahas all made good starts in race one yesterday, and they have a game here, Chan Onchu bursting through, and Luca Maez as ever, combative on the opening lap, top two breaking away slightly, it is Manzi who has made the best jump, then it's Onchu, Tom Boothable slotting in behind, Schrotter eventually dropping back from second to fourth, Maez then in fifth position, so gains one place, Valentin Tabis losing out one, and so change between the two Frenchmen, and Tabis now coming under some pressure from Michael Ruben-Rinaldi, already up from 11th place,
00:58and into seventh, as they make their way through Miller corner for the first time, Manzi leaves the door wide open, Onchu doesn't need a second invitation, and hits the front, so it is Chan Onchu leading again, just as he did in race one yesterday.
01:11Yeah, Chan always very strong in the opening couple of laps of races, and able to do exactly what he wanted to do on that number 61 machine to hit the front, and Manzi's up there, and Tom Boothable has been a good start from that second row, really great.
01:21Problems meanwhile for Bo Benchneider, having started right at the head of the field, you can see him just in the background of the shot, he's tumbled all the way down to 13th, so finds himself in recovery mode, just as he was in race one.
01:33Yeah, dropped down to 11th on the first lap yesterday, so even worse here in race two, but he's got the speed to come through, but obviously you don't want to put yourself to that much of a handicap in the Supersport class.
01:43Pitstop might help him if he gets a little bit of clear air ahead of him, but for the moment he's got a lot of traffic between himself and those podium positions, and a fair amount of ground already to recover as we come to the end of lap number one.
01:55Wider through that last corner, Tom Boothemus, but look at the momentum he's carried there to get alongside Manzi.
02:00Yeah, Simon Buckmaster commented yesterday that he felt that if necessary, Tom Boothemus could have made a pass in the run down to the line, there's plenty of speed on that final turn from the triumph, Boothemus going in a little bit deeper there into turn one, there was almost contact for second, there was
02:13almost contact for the back as well, and Luka Maas has lost out in the scrummage, he's down to sixth position.
02:19And Boothemus shows there the confidence he has in the triumph, but sweeps right across Chan-Onchu's front wheel, that'll definitely have made Onchu set up.
02:27Manzi, Boothemus and Onchu, your top three then, as things stand, have made a little bit of a gap to Valentin de Biese and Marcel Schrotter behind, Luka Maas charging down the inside, he's got to be careful here, he hasn't, he's gone too deep and he's lost another position.
02:41Boothemus dropping back behind into third, Chan-Onchu coming through for second.
02:46Yeah, and for Chan, definitely one of those situations where he's seen what happened into turn one, he's just trying to return the favour there, but able to make a nice clean move into fourth.
02:5314.94 bikes now, Luka Maas and Michael Ruben-Rinaldi in seventh and eighth positions.
02:59So Maas losing out there again, tried really hard down the inside into turn four, but it cost him a place instead of trying to gain two.
03:06Yeah, and just behind them as well, you can see Schrotter just able to hold off de Biese and General Masia able to make progress as well into the top six in that opening couple of laps.
03:16Harry Voigt into the points as well from the back of the grid, so good effort from him in his debut weekend in the class.
03:21Yes, now Copa back into 11th position to his credit, having started in P15.
03:27If you come to the end of lap two, it's Manzi versus Onchu once again, just as it was in the first stint of race one yesterday.
03:34The team speed off the final turn again from Tom Boothemus.
03:36They're going to go three abreast in towards Doohan at the start of lap three.
03:40And Boothemus then sweeps across the path of Manzi to claim the line and top spot.
03:44Yeah, that triumph's got some top speed on it, and Tom Boothemus' table to take full advantage of it.
03:49Manzi then in behind him, then it's Onchu.
03:52Marcel Schrotter was half a second behind last lap of the round, but there's no margin now.
03:56He has clawed his way right back onto the top three.
04:00He's brought de Biese and Masia with him also.
04:02Yeah, and here at Phillip Island, once you're in that group, you stay in the group,
04:06and that's what you're seeing here at the front of the field.
04:08And it goes all the way back down to Luka Maas right now,
04:10and Michael Rubin-Rinaldi in eighth position, but Javi Carr loose is staying with him as well.
04:15Can't help but feel that riders are going a little bit bold into turn four,
04:18and they're relying on compliance from the riders around them,
04:22just sending it down the inside and hoping for the best.
04:24Sometimes you have to ask for forgiveness, not for permission.
04:27Yeah, it does look like there might be a few asking for forgiveness, though,
04:30at the end of the race we're going at the moment in that fashion.
04:34This is Bo Benchneider then.
04:35Started from pole in at race one, tumble backwards and recovered into fourth.
04:40At this time, he's down in twelfth position.
04:42They've all stood the bike up through there.
04:43I don't know if one of the riders might have got hit by the wind,
04:46and then it forced everyone else to sort of step the bike up a little bit,
04:49but it looked like Benchneider in particular had to lose a lot of momentum.
04:52Guth Amos is pulling away on this lap.
04:54He's opened the gap now.
04:55A couple of tenths of a second, bit of daylight ahead of Manzi.
04:58Onchu behind him in third, so this will really give some heart to Guth Amos,
05:02and he might have an opportunity to make further ground here off the final turn,
05:05and down the 835-metre Gardner straight.
05:08Onchu is going to punish Manzi in towards turn one.
05:11Onchu behind in fourth, then it's De Bees-Massiat in that order.
05:16And Naldi's lost a place last time around,
05:17so Cardalus up into eighth position
05:20as we watch an increasingly combative fight for second.
05:23Important this for Marcel Strotter.
05:25I said that when he was behind Onchu and Manzi by six, seven-tenths of a second,
05:29he was immediately able to close back onto them.
05:31He may well pull this group right back onto the tail of Tom Booth Amos.
05:34Yeah, it does look like that could be the case,
05:36and maybe with that headwind,
05:38the Yamaha just struggling a little bit more for that top speed.
05:41It did look like for Booth Amos,
05:42he had a big advantage compared to Manzi and Chan Onchu.
05:45You can see for Onchu there,
05:46just struggled to get the bike stopped each turn four,
05:48losing that spot to Manzi,
05:49but trying his best just to live on the outside line there
05:53to set something up for the inside of Siberia.
05:55And Manzi is always a determined character,
05:58and he says, no, I don't think so.
05:59And just takes the line and forces Onchu to stand up the bike,
06:02so Onchu dropping down to sixth position.
06:05Ruth Amos, your leader, couple of tenths only now,
06:07the advantage over Marcel Strotter.
06:08Manzi's got to go with Strotter to keep his eye on the prize
06:11and a potential back-to-back race victory weekend here in Philippe Island.
06:15Then it's De Bees and Maciard.
06:18Just keeping a watch in brief
06:19as Luca Maias comes through on Chan Onchu for sixth position.
06:22Again, Onchu struggling to get the bike stopped there.
06:25Just can't get the bike stopped,
06:26and Onchu's going to be vulnerable now
06:27to the Arolac machine of Xavi Cardalus
06:30coming through on him as well.
06:31Yeah, Cardalus has already done well
06:32to get through on Michael Ruben-Rinaldi.
06:36So he will now be released up into seventh position
06:39while getting through on Chan Onchu.
06:41This will embark on lap number five,
06:43and they're side-by-side once again.
06:45Meanwhile, new personal best,
06:46new fastest lap of the race
06:47from Marcel Strotter on lap four,
06:49132.746,
06:51and that gives him another tenth of a second
06:54over Tom Booth-Amos,
06:55and he's now right on his tail
06:56at the start of lap five.
06:57Yeah, similar pace to Ben Schneider's fastest lap
06:59of yesterday's race,
07:00and that's why Marcel's been able to
07:01find that quarter of a second
07:03compared to Tom Booth-Amos
07:04and jump onto the back wheel of the Triumph.
07:06But with De Bees and Manzi and Onchu all fighting
07:11last time around,
07:12it allowed them to open up that bit of a margin.
07:14Strotter with an opportunity here on Booth-Amos,
07:16who is wide into turn four,
07:18but Strotter just happy enough for the moment
07:20to be nose to tail
07:21and stick in that second position.
07:23Quick word on Bo Ben Schneider.
07:25He's still down in 12th position,
07:27but he's starting to build up his pace now.
07:28New personal best lap last time around.
07:30Yes, it's down the order on the time tower.
07:32You can see he's just lost another spot
07:34to Ciccini as well.
07:35So for Ben Schneider,
07:37nowhere near where he needs to be right now.
07:38We saw in the Astrid's opening stint,
07:40he really struggled,
07:41and then the second stint,
07:42he managed to recover it,
07:43but he needs to do the same again.
07:45Rizengostegna, your race leader.
07:47Strotter has got close on a couple of occasions,
07:49but not quite close enough to make the pass.
07:50That's Manzi.
07:51He's down in fourth position now
07:53behind Vallott and De Bees,
07:54who's up in the podium spot.
07:56You can see De Bees recovering.
07:57He was disappointed yesterday.
08:00And here he is,
08:01straight back into podium contention.
08:03He does love this Philip Island circuit.
08:05Yeah, he really does.
08:06And this is a place where,
08:07if a rider likes this track,
08:08they're able to get good results
08:09no matter what bike it is.
08:11And I think that's the case for
08:12the likes of Tom Buthames.
08:13Think back to his Moto3 career.
08:15He had a good result here.
08:17Good ride.
08:17So for him,
08:18this is a place that suits his style.
08:20The same for the likes of De Bees
08:21and Schrotter at the front of the field.
08:24New personal best lap last time around
08:26for Vallott and De Bees at 1.32.666.
08:29That's brought him right back
08:30onto the tail of Marcel Schrotter.
08:32A new personal best as well from Stefano Manzi.
08:34Also in the 1.32s.
08:35But a new fastest lap of the race
08:37from Chan Onchoo.
08:38So he's recovering from sixth position.
08:40And only two tenths per second
08:41off the Super Bowl time as well.
08:43So as fast as pretty much anything
08:45we've seen all week,
08:45that Chan Onchoo.
08:46Chan Onchoo then on the inside
08:48of Jaume Macias.
08:50They make their way through turn four
08:51on lap number six.
08:53Still Buthamos leading
08:54at the head of the field.
08:55Yeah, lap and a half to go
08:56until we're into the pit window as well.
08:57And it's always interesting to see
08:59how riders strategise
09:00for what to do in this situation.
09:02Do you want to take that clear track
09:03in front of you?
09:04Do you want to pit as early as possible?
09:05Obviously for someone like Ben Schneider,
09:07he'll pit at the first opportunity
09:08because things are going badly.
09:10But at the front of the field,
09:11do you want to make sure
09:11that you're able to take advantage
09:13of that clear track
09:14and try and just almost do
09:16Super Bowl laps
09:17to try and open up a gap?
09:18Yeah, I guess it depends
09:19on how your feeling is
09:20with the tyre
09:21as much as anything at this stage.
09:23I think if you're the likes
09:24of Chan Onchoo
09:24with that fastest lap
09:25last time around,
09:26you stick it out
09:26as long as you can.
09:27You're feeling good on the bike.
09:29But maybe if you're
09:30in the middle of that pack
09:31like a Manzi or a Masia,
09:33it might be worth
09:33just doing whatever
09:35the other guys
09:35don't do around you.
09:36Yeah, it's one way
09:37or the other, isn't it?
09:38Either you stick it out
09:39and try to pump in
09:40some fast laps
09:41or you get some clear air
09:42by bolting into the pits early
09:44as we come in
09:45towards lap number seven then.
09:46Still Tom Buthanos in front.
09:47Marcel Schrotter
09:48coming under pressure here
09:49from Valentin de Bies
09:50in towards turn number one.
09:52De Bies though,
09:53he is going to have to remain
09:54in third position
09:55for the moment at least.
09:56Manzi, Masia, Onchoo, Maias
09:58all still within one second
09:59of the race leader.
10:01Yeah, and you can see
10:01everyone there
10:02just peeling
10:03from one side of the track
10:04left to right
10:05into the southern loop
10:06then on the left-hand side
10:07of the tyre
10:07and you're on the left side
10:09for so long
10:09through that part of the track
10:10that once you get into a battle
10:12suddenly you lose
10:13that bit of momentum.
10:14That's what's happened
10:15in this situation.
10:16You can see there
10:16at the front of the field
10:17Tom Buthanos
10:17just able to pick up
10:18a few bike lanes.
10:19Schrotter really struggling
10:20at the start of lap seven.
10:21De Bies almost got around
10:22the outside of him
10:23at the southern loop
10:24and thought there might
10:25be an opportunity
10:25into Miller corner
10:26but not so
10:27at Marcel Schrotter
10:28holding station
10:29but this is allowing
10:30Tom Buthanos
10:31to escape away.
10:32Yeah, and you can see
10:32behind that
10:33Rinaldi's losing touch
10:34with this group.
10:35Last time around
10:35half a second slower
10:36than Xavi Card loose
10:37so the number 21
10:39needs to find something
10:41and close that gap up.
10:43And we've set up tyres
10:44potentially
10:45as we make our way
10:46towards the end
10:47of lap number seven.
10:49He's still scrapping
10:50further back.
10:51Macias with a carb ride
10:52thus far
10:53hasn't been quite as close
10:54to the front
10:54as he was in race one
10:55but the opportunities
10:56are going to present themselves
10:58as long as you remain
10:59in this group.
10:59Yeah, and Phillip Island
11:00always delivers good race
11:02and the Supersport class
11:03in particular here
11:03can keep these groups together
11:05and you've got eight riders
11:06all separated
11:07by pretty much a second
11:08at this point
11:08and they're all
11:10in that mix.
11:11So coming through
11:12to the end of lap seven
11:14to start lap eight
11:14keep an eye
11:15on the pit stop window
11:16opening shortly
11:17Buthanos leads
11:18biggest disadvantage
11:19has been in this race
11:20it's six tenths of a second
11:22over Marcel Schrotter
11:23then it's Valentin de Bies
11:24in third
11:25Jean-Marc Macias
11:26in fourth
11:27ahead of Stefano Mansi
11:28in fifth
11:29and Channel 2
11:30in sixth
11:30the group has started
11:31to open up a little bit
11:32but that's mainly
11:33because of Tom Buthanos
11:34bolting at the front
11:35and for Buthanos
11:36doing a good job there
11:37with the personal best
11:38last time around
11:38to pick up that
11:40four tenths of a second
11:41and a lot of that
11:42coming in the first sector
11:43like you said Alex
11:44just with that fighting
11:45behind them.
11:46Yes, as you said
11:47Marcel Schrotter
11:48at the moment
11:49relegated to third position
11:50behind Valentin de Bies
11:52and then it's Macias
11:53Schrotter
11:54just going defensive
11:55again
11:56in towards turn number four
11:57not looking confident
11:58at this stage of the race.
11:59No, not right now
12:00and it definitely looks like
12:01he'll be one of those first riders
12:02to come into the pits
12:03you wonder for the likes
12:04of Tom Boothanos
12:05is it worth sticking out
12:07he's just said his personal best
12:08last time around
12:09and you'd imagine
12:10it'll be worth
12:11just doing one more lap
12:12seeing as he's got that clear track
12:13feeling good about himself
12:14further down the order
12:15Ben Schneider
12:16Bayless and Harry Voigt
12:18they'll all need to
12:19make their stop
12:19and hope that they're able
12:20to pick up a little bit of time
12:22well the theoretical right strategy
12:24has got to be
12:25to half and half the race
12:26but it does depend
12:28on track position
12:29it does depend
12:30on where you are
12:30in the group
12:32and Boothanos has got command
12:34of this situation
12:34at Preston
12:35well not right now
12:36look at the amount of time
12:36that he's lost
12:37in the middle part
12:38of this lap
12:38he comes into the pits
12:39so Tom Boothanos
12:40your race leader
12:41darts into the pit lane
12:42on lap number 8
12:43Valentin de Bees
12:44will continue on
12:45Schrotter is into the pits
12:47directly behind Boothanos
12:48so remember those positions
12:50as they were
12:50Boothanos, De Bees, Schrotter
12:52Maciard, Manzi, Onchu
12:53there's going to be
12:54a lot of change
12:55over the next couple of laps
12:56De Bees will continue on
12:58but Schrotter as you can see
12:59Maciard in as well
13:01and then as you suspected
13:02Ben Schneider
13:03among the first
13:04to immediately enter pit lane
13:05yeah not that many riders
13:07coming in at that first opportunity
13:09interestingly
13:09so you can see here
13:11for Tom Boothanos
13:12and the PTR team
13:13both riders coming into the pit
13:14so obviously it was
13:15in their plan
13:16to pit nice and early
13:17and have it where
13:18with the pit intervention time
13:20you're able to be nice and calm
13:21relaxed in the pits
13:22make your changes
13:23and then leave the pit
13:2478 seconds
13:25is the minimum time
13:26you have to spend in pit lane
13:27riders were saying
13:28at the end of the day
13:28yesterday
13:29it was quite a nice experience
13:30to be able to come in the pits
13:31the pit intervention time
13:32means it isn't all a rush
13:33you can get some fluid on board
13:35you can take a breather
13:35given the hot temperatures
13:36here in Philippine
13:37I was told by someone
13:38in the superbike paddock
13:40though whenever they handed
13:40their rider
13:41their drink down in pit lane
13:43all they heard was
13:44it's very hot in here
13:45yes it certainly is
13:48we're okay in the
13:49commentary box
13:50Valentin de Viz then
13:51takes up the lead
13:53and this is an opportunity
13:55for Cardellus
13:56to run right tie
13:56up the field
13:57second position for him
13:58he's up ahead of
13:59Antu and Manzi
14:00so Cardellus
14:01has done a great job there
14:02because that's
14:03that's pure gains
14:04in terms of
14:05positions for him
14:06yeah really impressive
14:07you can see there
14:08for the riders
14:09as they lead the pits
14:09Marcel Schroeder
14:10has got the jump
14:11ahead of them
14:11and in yesterday's race
14:13Tom Boutheimos
14:14you can see on the 69
14:15wasn't as fast
14:16through the pit stop
14:17as everyone else
14:17lost a second and a half
14:18but for
14:19Jaume Massia
14:20and Marcel Schroeder
14:22they've come through
14:22but look at Tom Boutheimos
14:23straight away
14:24attacking Jaume Massia
14:25but that's important
14:26because Massia
14:27came into the pits
14:28remember in fourth position
14:29Boutheimos was leading
14:30at the time of pit window
14:33opening the end
14:33of lap number eight
14:35so Boutheimos has lost
14:36the position there
14:37certainly at very least
14:38and he might lose more
14:39yet for the riders
14:40who've stayed out
14:41one lap longer
14:41who are pitting there
14:42yeah Massia
14:43had been a second
14:44behind Boutheimos
14:44at the start of that lap
14:46but obviously
14:46as the lap progressed
14:47Boutheimos lost some
14:48of that advantage
14:49to the rest of the field
14:49but if it was similar
14:51to yesterday
14:51where the PTO
14:52Triumph team
14:53maybe not quite as
14:54close to that 78 seconds
14:56as some of the other teams
14:57Massia
14:57as long as he's hit
14:58that pit intervention time
14:59which it looks like
15:00he should have done
15:00in this case
15:01he'll be really happy
15:02with the progress
15:03three riders staying out
15:04on track
15:04Tocini, Power and Arbel
15:06so they are the top three
15:08at present
15:09but let's see how we are
15:11when they all come out
15:12of the pits
15:12it's about 27 seconds now
15:14until Valentin Debiese
15:15is allowed to make his way
15:17out of the pits
15:17so he'll be preparing shortly
15:18and we'll have this
15:19usual split situation
15:21where Debiese
15:22will be coming out
15:23and trying to take
15:24track position
15:25but the riders
15:25coming up on him
15:26will be doing so
15:27far faster
15:28who is going to
15:29take the net lead
15:30remember it was
15:30Tom Boothamos
15:31who led at the end
15:32of lap number 8
15:33he has already
15:34dropped one position
15:35and had initially
15:37dropped two
15:37before recovering
15:38against Jaume Massia
15:40here they come
15:41the big group
15:41of riders
15:42the majority did stop
15:43at the end
15:44of the previous lap
15:45and Will Debiese
15:46have done enough
15:47to take the race lead
15:48here
15:49he peels in
15:50and it looks like
15:51he has
15:51so how about
15:52Debiese
15:53your race leader
15:54Trotter
15:55second
15:56Cardellus
15:57a big winner
15:58of that pit stop
15:59phase
15:59superb from him
16:00he's up ahead
16:01of teammate
16:01Massia
16:02and Tom Boothamos
16:03having led
16:04going into that
16:04pit stop phase
16:05now sits
16:06a net fifth position
16:07he is eighth on track
16:08and behind to Cheney
16:09power and Arbel
16:10who've now made
16:11their way
16:11into the pits
16:12yeah the Arlac team
16:13they're going to be
16:13happy with that
16:14Nacho and the boys
16:15they've done a good
16:15job to be able to
16:16get themselves up
16:17into third and fourth
16:18position now
16:19as it all shakes out
16:20the big loser
16:21in all of it
16:22looks like
16:23Manzi
16:24at the moment
16:25we'll wait and see
16:25where he comes back
16:26into the shot
16:27but it looks like
16:27he's all the way down
16:28maybe in 11th
16:29or 12th position
16:30you can see him there
16:31with the green flashes
16:32just at the back
16:33of the shot
16:33this all assumes
16:34that there's no
16:35penalties at the moment
16:36we'll wait and see
16:37if anyone did
16:38go a little bit
16:39too early
16:39but as things stand
16:40it's Valentin de Bies
16:41who will take it up
16:42at the head
16:43of the field
16:44at head of
16:45Marcel Schrotter
16:46Jami Canlis
16:47and Jaume Masia
16:48then it's Boothamos
16:50directly behind
16:51now at present
16:51this is the race
16:52for fourth position
16:53but of course
16:54to Cheney power
16:55and Arbel
16:55all required to stop
16:57so these are
16:58going to come through
16:59but those three riders
17:00have had a brief
17:01moment of glory
17:02up front here
17:03in the Supersport
17:04World Championship
17:05super phase of the race
17:06from Valentin de Bies
17:07disastrous phase of the race
17:08for Tom Boothamos
17:09yeah it looks like
17:09just at the back
17:10of this group
17:11that the likes of Rinaldi
17:12has been able to
17:13make up a lot of time
17:14in the pits
17:15obviously for him
17:16and for Luca Maia
17:17the GMT team
17:18they'll be pretty pleased
17:19with the fact
17:20that they've put themselves
17:20back in
17:21oh big incident
17:22into turn one
17:23and that's de Bies
17:24I think collected
17:25by Masia
17:25and a high speed
17:27spill into turn one
17:28Tom Boothamos as well
17:28it looked like
17:28so let's see
17:31what the
17:31the result
17:33is of that
17:34but that's a frightening
17:35spill
17:35and that does
17:36take your breath away
17:37Boothamos has managed
17:38to stay clear of it
17:39so he holds on
17:40in third position
17:40Schrotter
17:41Cardilus
17:42Boothamos
17:43now your
17:43provisional
17:44podium trio
17:45and that's an opportunity
17:47for the likes
17:47of Luca Maia
17:48and Michael Ruben
17:48on the GMT 94 bikes
17:50now the top Yamaha
17:52runners along with
17:53Chan on chair
17:53yeah scary
17:54incident there
17:55into turn one
17:56and so easy
17:56for riders
17:57to get sucked
17:58into that corner
17:59as well
17:59we saw it
18:00in the MotoGP race
18:00last year
18:01and with that slipstream
18:03you can just end up
18:05where you end up
18:05right there
18:06with another rider
18:07let's see
18:07as they come into that
18:08and yeah
18:09for Masia
18:09he just comes into
18:11the back there
18:12of De Bees
18:13massive slipstream
18:14when you've got
18:14five riders all together
18:16and you can see
18:17as they're trading places
18:18on the running
18:19towards turn one
18:20Masia tries to get
18:22the bike stopped
18:22and just not able to
18:24and such an unfortunate
18:25moment there
18:26for De Bees
18:27and you can see
18:28Tom Boothamos
18:29in that mix as well
18:30he was just in front of it
18:32and able to
18:32stay away
18:33triple free
18:34that's much
18:34multiple riders
18:36off the circuit
18:37at the end
18:38of lap number 11
18:39and we're going to have
18:40to see how the position
18:41shakedown now
18:42but here's Marcel Schrotu
18:43who was the leader
18:44at the start of this lap
18:45who is now out of the running
18:46and suddenly
18:47Michael Ruben Rinaldi
18:48takes up the challenge
18:49ahead of Tom Boothamos
18:50they're side by side
18:51for the race lead
18:52at the start of lap 12
18:53and look at Ben Schneider
18:55now up with them
18:56in these leading positions
18:57yeah it looks like
18:58another few riders
18:58involved in that
18:59good to see Marcel
19:00has been able to walk away
19:01from that one
19:01big impact there for him
19:03and you can see here
19:05at the front
19:05he has his high side
19:06on his own
19:07and Luca Maia
19:08takes avoiding action
19:09Tom Boothamos
19:10does the same
19:11Cardellus the same
19:13and that's lucky there
19:15for Marcel
19:16obviously he's had
19:17a big impact there
19:18but with so many riders
19:20together
19:21that could have been
19:22a lot worse
19:22for those riders
19:23in that group
19:23four riders off the track
19:25all together
19:25that spill was both
19:26a low side
19:27and a high side
19:28at the same time
19:28rather for Marcel Schrotter
19:30right at one of the
19:31fastest areas
19:32of this circuit
19:33great to see
19:33Michael Ruben Rinaldi
19:34up at the head
19:35of the field
19:35but it's caused
19:36chaos to the order
19:37now
19:37on lap number 12
19:38Boothamos leads
19:39Rinaldi second
19:40Jeremy Alcoba
19:42has managed to recover
19:43from 15th on the grid
19:45all the way
19:45into third position
19:46and now he's attacking
19:47for second
19:48against Michael Ruben Rinaldi
19:49so an opportunity
19:50for the Kawasaki
19:51to challenge
19:51for a podium place
19:53and yet another
19:53different manufacturer
19:54that is involved
19:56although I've just
19:57been informed
19:57that Jeremy Alcoba
19:59busted the pit
20:01intervention time
20:02so he's got a penalty
20:03to come at the end
20:04of this race
20:05of 6.78 seconds
20:07so as much as
20:08he's running second
20:08at the moment
20:09effectively he's down
20:10in ninth place
20:11so it's Boothamos
20:11who leads
20:12net second for Manzi
20:13now who's come through
20:14on Michael Ruben Rinaldi
20:15to Chini in fifth
20:16Ben Schneider sixth
20:18but effectively fifth
20:18and Ben Schneider
20:20set the fastest lap
20:20of the race
20:21on lap number 10
20:22at 1 minute 32.3
20:23to bring himself
20:24into the reckoning
20:25does he have
20:26the pace advantage
20:27in the final third
20:28of proceedings
20:28here that he did
20:29in race one yesterday
20:30because if so
20:31it's not out of the question
20:32that he could still
20:33get onto the podium
20:34yeah Manzi's coming
20:35alive now as well
20:36you can see he's been
20:37able to come through
20:37there on Jeremy Alcoba
20:38as the battle behind
20:40them continues to rage
20:41and Ben Schneider
20:42he needs to make sure
20:43he's able to get
20:44through there as well
20:44you can see for Alcoba
20:45just being moved
20:46out of the way
20:46by Rinaldi as well
20:47yeah nice move
20:48from Michael Ruben
20:49Rinaldi
20:49into third position
20:51and he's got a couple
20:52of bites between
20:53himself and Ben Schneider
20:54who's the rider
20:54he's likely fighting here
20:56for a place on the podium
20:57yeah you can see
20:58there's seven second penalty
20:59effectively for Jeremy Alcoba
21:00so he would have been
21:01a second and a half
21:02underneath the pit
21:02intervention
21:03and a big penalty
21:05for him but
21:05obviously that's the
21:07rules for him
21:07and he's totally
21:08out of position
21:09now compared to
21:10where he should be
21:11and that means
21:12that for the likes
21:13of Manzi
21:14Manzi
21:14and Rinaldi
21:16and Ben Schneider
21:16coming through
21:17they need to be able
21:18to clear out
21:18as quickly as possible
21:19well I said at the top
21:20of the program
21:21that it had been
21:21wacky races this week
21:23in supersport
21:23but I certainly
21:24didn't see that coming
21:25all eyes here
21:26on Bo Ben Schneider
21:27sixth position
21:27to Cini
21:28Rinaldi
21:29are the only two
21:30riders separating him
21:31from a podium finish
21:32yeah and you can see
21:33here for Ben Schneider
21:33just able to make
21:34that move
21:35down into turn 10
21:35but the big losers
21:36in that
21:36Marcel Schrader incident
21:38Luca Maia's lost
21:39about six seconds
21:40having to run off
21:41the track through
21:41the last corner
21:42and then Xabi Cardalus
21:44the real loser
21:44and he lost the best
21:45part of 10 seconds
21:46taking his avoiding action
21:48he's dropped all the way
21:49down to 13th
21:49yeah no luck whatsoever
21:50for Xabi Cardalus
21:51who suffered a mechanical
21:53failure
21:53an engine failure
21:54yesterday
21:55and now was running
21:57so strongly
21:57that he looked like
21:58he might be a podium
21:59finisher
21:59and yet he finds himself
22:00down in 13th position
22:02battle raging here
22:03between Cicini
22:04and Ben Schneider
22:05super ride this
22:06from Leonardo Cicini
22:07did say that this
22:08was his best
22:09super pole effort yet
22:10in the supersport
22:11world championship
22:12but you wouldn't have
22:12been expecting to see
22:13him running up
22:14in the top six places
22:15admittedly circumstances
22:17playing their part there
22:18but Cicini's not
22:19letting himself down
22:20he's done a good job
22:21fighting with Ben Schneider
22:22ultimately he's had
22:24to give best
22:24and the number 11
22:25MV Augusta
22:26is now through
22:26into P5
22:27and net P4
22:28with only one rider
22:30Michael Ruben Rinaldi
22:31separating him
22:32from the podium
22:32let's see if everyone's
22:34able to settle down
22:35now for a lap or two
22:36take stock of where
22:37they are
22:37and give themselves
22:39the opportunity
22:39to be able to
22:41put a last push
22:42in at the final
22:43couple of laps
22:44the race
22:44Manzi obviously
22:45up into P2
22:45now it's been
22:46a difficult race
22:47for him
22:47he dropped all the
22:48way down to 11th
22:49after the pit stops
22:50but the race
22:52came back to him
22:52and we know how good
22:53Manzi is whenever it
22:54comes down to those
22:55last lap battles
22:56Ben Schneider still
22:57only 1.3 seconds
22:58down on the lead
22:59but at this stage
23:00it does look as though
23:01it's going to be
23:01a head-to-head
23:02between Tom Puthanos
23:03and Stefano Manzi
23:04and Manzi knows
23:05just the way to play
23:07and he's the master
23:07of these late race
23:09battles
23:09let's have a look
23:10at Manzi down
23:10the start finish
23:11straight though
23:11to see if he's
23:12able to use that
23:13toe from Tom Puthanos
23:14we saw Puthanos
23:14come past him
23:15a couple of times
23:16earlier in the race
23:17let's see if Manzi
23:18is able to get close
23:19enough to do the same
23:20obviously an advantage
23:21to be in behind
23:22does Manzi have the
23:24grunt on the new
23:25Yamaha
23:25in towards turn
23:26number one
23:27it's Tom Puthanos
23:28who leads the way
23:29Manzi in second
23:30position
23:30and over four tenths
23:31of a second back
23:32it's really Rinaldi
23:33you want to watch
23:33he's fighting with
23:34Ben Schneider
23:35and Ben Schneider's
23:35throw in fact on
23:36Rinaldi for a net
23:37third
23:38as Manzi comes through
23:39on Tom Puthanos
23:40in towards turn one
23:41on lap 15
23:41you can see for Manzi
23:42though it's about
23:43trying to be brave
23:44into turn one
23:45he didn't really have
23:46that top speed
23:46even with the slipstream
23:47so Ben Schneider
23:48into the provisional
23:49podium places
23:50ahead of Rinaldi
23:51and on Chu
23:52and can Ben Schneider
23:54now be a contender
23:54for this race victory
23:55only six tenths
23:56of a second down
23:57on the two race leaders
23:58and they're scrapping
23:58with one another
23:59costing one another
24:00time at this stage
24:01Puthanos recovers the lead
24:02now it's Manzi's turn
24:04in towards turn four
24:05Puthanos closes the door
24:06and the top five
24:07are all now
24:08line of breath
24:08with less than a second
24:09between
24:09yeah exactly
24:10Rinaldi's been able
24:11to get himself back
24:12into that
24:12look at Chan on Chu
24:13Lumen large as well
24:14and he's going to
24:16get himself into that
24:17scrap too you'd imagine
24:18but Alcoba on the 52
24:21he's the odd man out
24:21he's got that big time
24:22penalty that right now
24:24would drop him down
24:24to eighth position
24:25which again would still
24:26be a decent performance
24:27by him
24:28but for Alcoba
24:29it's about trying to
24:30make sure that the
24:31riders around him
24:32are able to clear him
24:33because they're the ones
24:34that are really in that
24:34scrap for the victory
24:35yes absolutely
24:36at the moment
24:37Alcoba is a roadblock
24:39to Ben Schneider
24:40who probably doesn't
24:40realise that Alcoba's
24:41out of podium contention
24:42but has still got to
24:43overtake him on track
24:44yeah because for Alcoba
24:45it's a time penalty
24:47after the race
24:48he needs to have
24:49as many positions
24:51as he can
24:52and race his race
24:53as well as he can
24:54and then see where he
24:55falls after the penalty
24:56comes in
24:56yes at the moment
24:57it looks like he's
24:58battling with
24:59Luca Maas effectively
25:00all pit intervention
25:02infringements coming in
25:03but they're riders
25:03further down the order
25:04as we head into
25:07lap 16
25:07three to go
25:08Ben Schneider
25:09attacking Alcoba
25:10needs to clear him
25:11quickly so that he can
25:12get on and challenge
25:12for the race victory
25:13he's up in the podium
25:15positions effectively
25:16albeit fourth on track
25:18and he has managed
25:19to open his advantage
25:20again now over
25:20Chad Onchu
25:21and Michael Rubin
25:21Ronaldo's dropped
25:22down to sixth place
25:23behind Onchu
25:23yeah Onchu
25:24doing a good job
25:25last time around
25:25he was as fast
25:26as anyone
25:26in that league group
25:27and he's been able
25:29to come through
25:30and you'd imagine
25:31he'll be in a position
25:32to be able to
25:33try and attack
25:33the likes of
25:34Jeremy Alcoba
25:35obviously he rode
25:36that bike last year
25:37the old generation
25:38of the Kawasaki
25:39but for Onchu
25:40he switched teams
25:41for this year
25:41he switched brands
25:42and as this race
25:43progressed
25:44he's come back
25:44into us
25:44new fastest
25:46first sector
25:47of the race
25:47for Chan Onchu
25:48in fifth position
25:50as he hunts down
25:50Bo Ben Schneider
25:51the gap was 1
25:52was 0.7 seconds
25:54this time
25:54last lap
25:55it's now down
25:56to just a tenth
25:57of a second
25:57and Onchu
25:58is challenging
25:59for a podium
25:59here in his fight
26:00for a provisional
26:01fourth place
26:02on track
26:02against Bo Ben Schneider
26:03as we watch Alcoba
26:05in front of him
26:06he's the odd man out
26:07as we've been saying
26:08just trying to race
26:09Luca Maas
26:09for seventh place
26:11but he is still
26:13holding back
26:14Bo Ben Schneider
26:14and this is almost
26:15ending
26:15the number 11
26:17hopes of challenging
26:19for this race victory
26:20increasingly it's looking
26:20like a head-to-head
26:21between Demos and Manson
26:22yeah two laps to go
26:23when they cross the line
26:24and they're not able
26:25to clear Alcoba
26:26and Jeremy doing
26:27a good job here
26:28on his debut weekend
26:29in terms of his speed
26:31and his pace
26:31would obviously
26:32have to take advantage
26:33of that pit lane
26:34and Brindman
26:35for pit intervention time
26:36yeah but good to see
26:37he's got the pace
26:37to run with them
26:38nonetheless
26:39demonstrates where he can be
26:40if he gets the super pole
26:41right in the rounds to come
26:43he's still holding off
26:44Bo Ben Schneider
26:45at less than a tenth
26:46of a second
26:46between those three
26:47as they cross the line
26:48Ben Schneider
26:48Onchu and Rinaldi
26:49is behind
26:51by four tenths
26:52of a second
26:52in sixth place
26:54so Rinaldi
26:55dropping back a little bit
26:56as Alcoba runs wide
26:58and this is the opportunity
26:59that Ben Schneider
27:00has been waiting for
27:01a mistake from Alcoba
27:02Ben Schneider
27:03is through for third position
27:04he's a second
27:05behind the race leader
27:06Tom Boothamos
27:07and he's only got
27:08one and a half laps to go
27:09but Ben Schneider
27:10is finally clear
27:11and he'll be relieved
27:12about that
27:12puts a bike between himself
27:13and Chan Onchu
27:14his main rival
27:15for a place on the podium
27:16yeah definitely important
27:17to be able to get yourself
27:18through into that podium spot
27:19and see if you're able
27:20to close up onto the back
27:21of Manzi
27:21very difficult to pull back
27:22a second
27:23unless Manzi
27:23and Tom Boothamos
27:24fight it out
27:25with one another
27:26but TBA doing a great job
27:27here
27:27looks comfortable
27:28at the front
27:29he's led this race
27:30and he's put himself
27:31in a position
27:32to try and win this one
27:33now Tom Boothamos
27:34three tenths of a second
27:35now clear
27:36of Stefano Manzi
27:37Ben Schneider
27:38still nine tenths
27:39of a second
27:39back from top spot
27:40so he's going to make
27:42enough progress
27:42to challenge
27:43and try something
27:44in the run
27:45to the line
27:46Onchu now trying
27:47to pass Alcoba
27:48that has enabled
27:49Rinaldi to pull back
27:50in just three tenths
27:51of a second now
27:52between Onchu
27:53and Rinaldi
27:54but satisfactory result
27:55I suspect
27:56in prospect for Rinaldi
27:57not the best of rides
27:59in the end
27:59it would have been good
28:00for him
28:00to still be in podium
28:02contention
28:02one lap to go
28:03especially after
28:04everything that happened
28:04yesterday for him
28:05it's a good performance
28:06to be able to do that
28:07at the front of the field
28:08though
28:08Tom Boothamos
28:09has opened up
28:10an extra couple
28:11of bike lengths
28:11he's not going to be
28:12under attack
28:12into turn one
28:13so one minute 32.6
28:15for Boothamos
28:15one minute 32.6
28:17for Manzi
28:17no change there
28:19at the head of the field
28:19two tenths of a second
28:20for Ben Schneider
28:21gaps now 1.1 seconds
28:23as Onchu tries to make
28:24the move on Ben Schneider
28:25in towards the southern
28:27on Alcoba rather
28:28in towards the southern loop
28:30Ben Schneider now
28:30starting to open a margin
28:32to Chan Onchu
28:33around about three tenths
28:34of a second
28:34to the rider
28:35he's racing for third
28:36position here
28:36and Rinaldi
28:37seven tenths
28:38over the back
28:38it's going to be
28:39fifth place for him
28:40once Alcoba's penalty
28:41is taken into account
28:43it does look as though
28:44this race is settling down
28:45one to go
28:45with two tenths
28:46of a second in it
28:47oh
28:47Dan Merchand Onchu
28:48he just made his move
28:50down the inside
28:50of Alcoba
28:51and he has come to grief
28:53he's become the latest rider
28:54to have an incident
28:55in this dramatic race
28:57two in Philippi
28:57there's still a top ten
28:58to be had for Onchu
28:59though if he's able
29:00to get himself up
29:01and going again
29:02ten seconds back
29:03to the likes of
29:04Oli Bayliss
29:05and Bostatek
29:05and a lot of time penalties
29:07to come to Keeney
29:08with a 26 second penalty
29:09for instance
29:10and so for Onchu
29:11there's still points
29:12to be had
29:12looks like he might be
29:13out of the race though
29:14according to our timing
29:15screen
29:15super stuff here
29:17from Booth Amos
29:18though on this last lap
29:19he's opened up
29:20a gap of half a second
29:21and now he's able
29:22to come into
29:23these last couple
29:24of corners
29:24and the chance
29:25to win
29:25his first supersport race
29:26and then he's able to go to
29:27the final sector for Tom
29:28Booth Amos
29:28half a second clear now
29:30of Stefano Manti
29:31the race one winner
29:32has been undone here
29:33it is going to be
29:34the first triumph winner
29:36since Manti
29:36and only the second
29:37in their comeback phase
29:40Tom Booth Amos' first win
29:42in the supersport world
29:43championship
29:44by a seven tenths
29:45of a second margin
29:46over Stefano Manti
29:47with which he becomes
29:49the joint championship leader
29:50leaving the Australian round
29:52Bo Benchneider
29:53with third
29:54making up for his
29:55disappointment yesterday
29:56in a race of attrition
29:57Michael Ruben Rinaldi
29:59will be promoted
29:59to fourth
30:00once Jeremy Alcoba's
30:01penalty has been
30:02taken into account
30:03that pushes him down
30:04to sixth place
30:05behind Leonardo Taccini
30:06certainly his best ride yet
30:08in the supersport
30:09world championship
30:10emotional moment clearly
30:11for Simon Buckmaster
30:13there
30:13yeah Taccini with
30:14a massive penalty as well
30:15though he's got 27 seconds
30:16to be added to his
30:17so he
30:18best ride
30:19best ride
30:19not the best result though
30:21no absolutely
30:22that's going to push him down
30:24just outside of the points
30:26so there we go
30:27we're waiting for that
30:28penalty to be applied
30:29actually Alcoba's
30:30has already been applied
30:30Taccini's has been applied
30:33and it still leaves him
30:33ahead of Chanon Chu
30:34for a point
30:35but it's all about
30:36Tom Booth Amos
30:37we saw into the
30:38the garage there
30:39for Simon Buckmaster
30:40and the team
30:42it is a super result
30:43not only
30:44did they have the
30:45the team's
30:47championship lead
30:48after day one
30:49they've now got the
30:49joint world championship lead
30:51for the riders championship
30:52through Tom Booth Amos
30:53yeah always important
30:54to remember the job
30:54that PTR have been able
30:56to do in the past
30:56whether you look at
30:57Manzi being able to
30:58win races with Triumph
30:59or Kyle Smith
31:00or Jules Cluzel
31:01plenty of success for them
31:03over the years
31:04and they've got another
31:05opportunity now
31:06with Tom Booth Amos
31:07this season
31:07you'd have to think
31:08and Tom
31:10podium in both races
31:11he's going to be happy
31:12with that
31:12Manzi
31:13a win in the second place
31:14he'll be happy with that
31:15and both those riders
31:17are going to go to
31:18the second round
31:19joint top of the standings
31:20Manzi the last Triumph
31:21winner of course
31:22at the 2022
31:24Portuguese round
31:25so it has been a fair
31:26wait but in Tom
31:27Booth Amos
31:27they've found a rider
31:28who has really stepped
31:29up to the plate
31:30particularly at the
31:31start of this season
31:32and then as well
31:33just to show the strength
31:34of that Triumph
31:35as well
31:35Ali Bayliss
31:36finishing seventh
31:36in this race
31:37two top tens
31:38and a good start
31:39to the season
31:39for both of their riders
31:40yeah certainly on points
31:42for Bayliss
31:42the only challenge
31:43to that of course
31:44is that he's 13 seconds
31:45down on his teammates
31:46but for a series of incidents
31:48that wasn't looking
31:49like the best race
31:50he was running
31:50for the majority of it
31:51outside of the top ten
31:52so a little bit of work
31:53to do for Bayliss
31:55but top ten finishes
31:57were rarer than he would
31:58have liked last season
31:59so it's still a step forward
32:00as you say
32:00at the start of this campaign
32:02Tom Booth Amos
32:03heading in
32:04all of your penalties
32:04have now been confirmed
32:05so we've got a race result
32:08Tom Booth Amos
32:08wins ahead of Stefano Manzi
32:10and Boben Schneider
32:11gets third
32:12Michael Ruben Rinaldi
32:13for fourth position
32:14his debut
32:15super sport weekend
32:16in top
32:16and for Rinaldi
32:18obviously in yesterday's race
32:19as well
32:19that technical issue
32:20cost him the chance
32:22of decent points
32:23but it's all about Tom Booth Amos
32:24anytime any rider
32:25has that first race victory
32:27you can see plenty of people
32:28out to offer some congratulations
32:29one of them there
32:30Taz McKenzie
32:31of course
32:31the last British winner
32:32in the super sport class
32:33and plenty of other mechanics
32:35and crew members
32:37down there
32:37to offer their congratulations
32:38super right
32:39from Tom Booth Amos
32:41and he's congratulated
32:43by top rack
32:44Razgatlioglu as well
32:46as he achieves
32:47his first victory
32:48in super sport
32:49and leaves here
32:50as the championship leader
32:51alongside Manzi
32:5216 up on Ben Schneider
32:54actually that's bad news
32:55for the riders
32:55who aren't here
32:57this weekend
32:57or aren't racing
32:58this weekend anyway
32:59Philipp Ertel
32:59for example
33:00because he comes
33:01to the second round
33:02of the season
33:0345 points behind
33:04Rinaldi
33:05with a first and second
33:06Manzi
33:06with a first and second
33:07as well
33:07yeah we said
33:08at the start of the weekend
33:09when Anju out
33:10potentially
33:11of 50 points
33:1245 points
33:13to Manzi
33:14that's a handicap
33:15you don't want to have
33:16yes
33:17Chan on Chu
33:18incidentally
33:19relegated in the end
33:20to 16th position
33:21so no points
33:22for him here
33:23but he does have
33:25the 11
33:25picked up yesterday
33:26Booth Amos
33:27your new series leader
33:28along with Manzi
33:28on 45
33:29Ben Schneider
33:3016 back
33:31Ben Schneider
33:32again in phases
33:32of that race
33:33was the fastest man
33:34out there
33:34but just as in race
33:35one
33:35no real consistency
33:37through the
33:37full distance
33:38yeah
33:38and that's one
33:39of the big things
33:40is trying to figure out
33:41what the problem
33:42is there
33:43because the opening
33:44stint of both races
33:45he gave up too much
33:46time and then able
33:46to come back
33:47in the second part
33:48but obviously
33:49when we get to
33:50Portimao
33:50we should see him
33:51much closer to
33:52full fitness
33:52after that big crash
33:53in the Super Bowl
33:54session
33:54and we'll just have
33:56to wait and see
33:57how that transpires
33:58for him as well
33:59in the past
33:59the MV struggled
34:01at times
34:01to switch on
34:02the tyre
34:02in the initial stages
34:04of a race
34:04and then it would have
34:05good tyre wear
34:05through it
34:06but for Ben
34:07Schneider
34:07at least you're
34:08able to come
34:08away with that
34:09podium in this race
34:10yes
34:10so ultimately
34:11we have 19
34:12finishers
34:13but how many
34:14of those
34:14were caught up
34:14in incidents
34:15at one stage
34:16or another
34:16as well
34:17so a dramatic
34:19dramatic race
34:20too
34:20confirmation
34:21along the bottom
34:22of your screen
34:23there of the
34:24penalty
34:24for Leonardo
34:25Taccini
34:26that's a shame
34:26for Altair Racing
34:27having seen
34:28their rider
34:29perform the best
34:30he has yet
34:30in Supersport
34:31it's a shame
34:32but five seconds
34:33underneath the pit
34:34intervention time
34:34there's a big
34:35dashboard display
34:36that tells you
34:37what time
34:38you need to do
34:38and for Leo
34:40that's a big mistake
34:42and obviously enough
34:43it's cost him
34:44heavily in this race
34:45yes very heavily
34:46indeed
34:47the only consolation
34:48is he had the
34:48opportunity to run
34:49with the leaders
34:50and to see
34:51what they were
34:51they were doing
34:52he does still
34:53come away with
34:53a first world
34:55championship point
34:55here are your
34:56standings then
34:56Boothemus and Manzi
34:57with a win
34:58and a second place
34:58each
34:59a fourth and a third
34:59for Bo Ben Schneider
35:00he's 16 points back
35:02and then it's Bayliss
35:03in fourth position
35:04so great start
35:05to this season
35:05for Triumph
35:06obviously lead
35:07jointly with Yamaha
35:08the Manufacturers
35:09World Championship
35:10and they've picked up
35:11another handy haul
35:12of points
35:13in the teams
35:14championship
35:15they're first
35:15and fourth
35:16in the riders
35:16standings
35:17yeah and
35:18really good day
35:19for PTR
35:20good weekend
35:20for PTR
35:21you can see
35:21down there
35:22Simon Buckmaster
35:23just in the middle
35:24of the shot
35:25and talking to
35:26his most recent
35:27winner
35:28and his previous
35:28winner
35:28down there
35:29in Parkver
35:29is two winners
35:31with Triumph
35:31or Triumph's
35:32two winners
35:33obviously having
35:34achieved great success
35:36in previous machinery
35:36you mentioned
35:37Jules Cluzel
35:38previously
35:38also
35:39but Bo Ben Schneider
35:41here
35:41is the man
35:43who completes
35:43the podium
35:44and that will be
35:45a relief for him
35:45he's the odd man
35:46out as it were
35:47compared to yesterday
35:48when he just missed
35:49out on a Rostrom spot
35:50but he's got the job
35:51done in race two
35:51in the end
35:52with a little help
35:53from his friends
35:53it is one of those
35:55situations around here
35:56in Phillip Island
35:57all those instants
35:58we saw so many riders
35:59just lose
36:00in touch with the group
36:01but luckily
36:02we were able to
36:03see the leaders
36:04all stay in that big group
36:06well he certainly
36:07deserved a podium
36:07yesterday
36:08he might not quite
36:09have today
36:10but he's kept it
36:10on the island
36:11and come home
36:12for third position
36:12a second podium
36:13in Supersport
36:14for Bo Ben Schneider
36:15Bo, third position
36:17for you
36:17a good way
36:18to finish
36:19a challenging weekend
36:20yes
36:21I expected more
36:23this weekend
36:23but after the crash
36:25in the qualifying
36:26until then
36:27it was almost perfect
36:28and then I have
36:29a big high side
36:30and quite a lot
36:32of pain
36:32in the right foot
36:33so with this win
36:34today was quite tough
36:35but honestly
36:36we did the maximum
36:38I think yesterday
36:39coming from 12
36:40to 4
36:41today the same
36:42so now we need
36:44to analyze the data
36:45and improve
36:45for Portimao
36:46enter the podium
36:47well deserved
36:48thank you
36:49yeah well deserved
36:51podium as Alvaro
36:52said there
36:52for Bo Ben Schneider
36:54but well deserved
36:56for the balance
36:57of the weekend
36:57I would say
36:58more so than
36:59necessarily that race
37:00itself
37:00he was able
37:01to take the Super
37:03Pole to dominate
37:04the week
37:04until we got
37:05underway with races
37:06and it is
37:07third position
37:08for Bo Ben Schneider
37:09in race two
37:09in the end
37:09yeah and important
37:10and balance is a good
37:11word for it as well
37:12because in the
37:13Supersport class
37:13that's what
37:14we're looking for
37:15and we had three
37:15different manufacturers
37:16on the podium
37:17in race one
37:17three different manufacturers
37:18now in race two
37:19and for Ben Schneider
37:21it unfortunately
37:22was one of those
37:23situations where
37:23his highlights
37:24came at the start
37:25of the weekend
37:25not when the points
37:26are on offer
37:27but at least
37:28he's up there
37:28with a fourth place
37:29and a third place
37:30finish
37:30championship leaders
37:31leaving Phillip Island
37:33Tom Boutheimos
37:34and Stefano Manzi
37:35Stefano
37:37second position
37:38to achieve
37:38your second podium
37:39of the weekend
37:40solid debut
37:41for the R9
37:42yes for sure
37:43today it was difficult
37:44because after the
37:45pit stop
37:45I think no one
37:46will be saying
37:47then I finish
37:48on the podium
37:48because I was
37:49struggling
37:50but in the end
37:51I find my way
37:52to ride with
37:53these different
37:54conditions
37:54and I was
37:55closing
37:55I was helped
37:56by some mistake
37:58of other rider
37:58but in the end
37:59it was a good one
38:00and lucky I got
38:01like a little mistake
38:03in riding
38:03in Tour 4
38:04in the last lap
38:04and I took
38:06a bit of gap
38:06but it's an amazing
38:08start for the new bike
38:09thank you Stefano
38:10yes absolutely
38:12I think
38:13if you told Yamaha
38:14that they would
38:15come away
38:15from round one
38:16of a new model
38:17joint championship
38:18leaders in the
38:19manufacturers
38:20and the riders
38:20they would certainly
38:21have bitten your arm
38:22off for that
38:22yes especially
38:23when you look at
38:24Manzi up there
38:24in second in this race
38:25Rinaldi's inside
38:26the top five
38:27Luca Maia
38:27if he hadn't
38:28had to take
38:29all that avoiding
38:29action would have
38:30been up there
38:30as well
38:31and then Chanan Chu
38:32before his crash
38:33was in that lead
38:33group as well
38:34the R9's a good
38:35package here
38:36at Phillip Island
38:36let's see what
38:37it's like in
38:38Portimao
38:38when we go
38:39to round two
38:40certainly
38:41that is partly
38:42the very very
38:43strong line-up
38:44that Yamaha
38:45themselves have
38:45put together
38:46across three
38:47different teams
38:47this season
38:48yeah when you
38:48look further
38:49down the field
38:49Aldi Mahendra
38:50Super Sport 300
38:51champion
38:51able to score
38:52points
38:52that's the big
38:53story of
38:54race two this
38:55afternoon
38:55is the first
38:56victory in the
38:56Super Sport World
38:57Championship
38:58for Tom Booth Amos
38:59Tom Booth Amos
39:00you are a world
39:01Super Sport race
39:02winner
39:03how do you feel?
39:04I said last year
39:06when I got third
39:07place it was a huge
39:08lift but
39:08I didn't expect
39:09this early in the
39:10season to be on
39:11the top step
39:12so yeah
39:12thanks to the guys
39:13they worked super
39:15hard this week
39:15and yeah
39:16we wouldn't be here
39:17for them
39:18and now we just
39:19need to do it
39:19again
39:20another
39:20I think
39:20is it
39:2111 rounds
39:21so yeah
39:22let's see
39:23enjoy you
39:23thank you
39:24thank you
39:25wow
39:26counting the
39:26remaining rounds
39:27of the season
39:27already
39:28but Tom Booth Amos
39:29super ride from
39:30him today
39:31said at the end
39:32of yesterday
39:32he wants to be a
39:33championship contender
39:34this season
39:34he is a championship
39:35contender after round
39:36one with just five
39:37drop points from two
39:38races
39:38yeah exactly
39:39and for Booth Amos
39:41he's been able to
39:41prove a big point
39:42here this weekend
39:43because it wasn't
39:44just one race
39:45it was both races
39:45and now he'll be
39:47under pressure
39:47to deliver on this
39:49as well in Portimao
39:50but certainly for
39:51Booth Amos
39:52and for the Triumph
39:53and for PTR
39:53they showed last year
39:55that they had the
39:55potential to be up
39:56at the front
39:57and now they've been
39:58able to live up to that
39:59yeah
39:59last season was the
40:01coming of age
40:01wasn't it
40:02the first podium
40:03the first time
40:04he was running
40:04in that lead group
40:05regularly
40:06but it looks like
40:07the team
40:08the rider
40:08have gone away
40:09and refined things
40:10and come straight out
40:11of the box
40:11for the start of 2025
40:13yeah and it wasn't
40:14even with a lot of
40:14testing during the
40:15winter for them as well
40:16so for Booth Amos
40:18for Simon Buckmaster
40:19they'll know that
40:19there's more to come
40:20as well
40:21enough here to suggest
40:23that that will be
40:24transferable to other
40:25circuits
40:25we know that the
40:25Phillip Island weekend
40:26is unique
40:27obviously the pit stop
40:28races
40:28the weather conditions
40:30might well be different
40:31early in the season
40:32in Europe
40:32are we going to see
40:33a similar pattern
40:34in the coming rounds
40:35I think one of the
40:36big things is
40:36obviously with a
40:37Phillip Ertel back
40:38for field racing
40:39at the next round
40:40of the championship
40:40you'd hope
40:41and he puts himself
40:42into the mix
40:43we had Schrader up
40:44there in this one
40:44we had plenty of
40:45other riders in the
40:46mix
40:46but when you have
40:48the opportunity
40:49to win races
40:49in this class
40:50you have to take it
40:51and Booth Amos
40:52grabbed it with both
40:52hands
40:53yes
40:53Mamsi we know
40:54is going to be
40:55strong pretty much
40:55everywhere we go
40:56but that wasn't
40:57a straightforward race
40:58for him
40:58he said it himself
40:59there was a phase
41:00in that race
41:01where he was
41:01struggling and
41:01losing places
41:02yeah and we know
41:03that he's going
41:04to be good
41:04all the way
41:05through the season
41:05Ben Schneider
41:06is going to be
41:06strong on that
41:07MV as well
41:08opportunity for
41:10the autographs
41:12for Tom Booth Amos
41:13as he makes
41:13his way
41:13towards the podium
41:15a race winner
41:16for the first time
41:16in Supersport
41:17and this is going
41:18to be special
41:18for him
41:19because he was
41:20really a late
41:21bloomer in the
41:21world SBK paddock
41:22was the nearly man
41:24in the Supersport
41:25300 world championship
41:27taking him a little
41:27bit of time
41:28to find this progress
41:29but actually
41:29you've got to say
41:31that the perseverance
41:31has been well
41:32rewarded
41:33I think one of the
41:33things that's always
41:34interesting with
41:35Booth Amos
41:35is he's very even
41:36keeled
41:36he doesn't tend
41:37to have too many
41:38highs and lows
41:38at the end of
41:39these races
41:40and even when you
41:41hear him in
41:41Park Verme
41:42there's first world
41:42championship victory
41:43in the Supersport
41:44class
41:44and just very calm
41:46about it
41:47yes absolutely
41:49I dare say
41:50there might be
41:50some celebrations
41:51though later on
41:52today
41:53as we see
41:55Bo Ben Schneider
41:56making his way
41:56onto the podium
41:57I tell you what
41:58down in the
41:58Phillip Island
41:59Hotel tonight
42:00I think everyone's
42:00going to be looking
42:01for George
42:01from Master
42:02down there
42:02Bo Ben Schneider
42:04then makes his way
42:05up onto the podium
42:05it's third position
42:07for him
42:08it's his second podium
42:09of course he had one
42:09in his short two round
42:11stint
42:12with which he debuted
42:12at the end of last season
42:13in World Supersports
42:15his first then
42:16of the weekend
42:17but a decent
42:18pull of points
42:19for Ben Schneider
42:1929
42:20satisfactory
42:21but not as good
42:22as it was looking
42:23like it was going to be
42:23after Super Bowl
42:24yeah it's always tough
42:25yeah it's always tough
42:25whenever you've taken
42:26that pole position
42:26everything's looked so good
42:28but it was a really
42:29big crash for him
42:30and obviously that foot injury
42:32has held him back
42:33a little bit
42:33the pit stop races
42:34are always a bit
42:35of a challenge as well
42:36and Ben Schneider
42:37I think he could be
42:38pretty happy with
42:38two top four finishes
42:39certainly happy
42:41will be the top two
42:42on this podium
42:43Stefano Manzi
42:44second place for him
42:46winner yesterday
42:47of course
42:48podium number 43
42:50in Supersport
42:51from 75 race starts
42:52showing just how
42:53consistent he's been
42:54in his spell
42:55in the championship
42:55yeah and consistency
42:57is the key
42:57because you've got
42:58to be able to make sure
42:59that week in week out
43:00in this class
43:01you're able to stay
43:01in those leading positions
43:02that's how you become
43:03a title contender
43:04Manzi the previous
43:05Supersport race winner
43:06for triumph
43:07as you said
43:07back at the Portuguese round
43:09of 2022
43:11in Portimao
43:13and now the latest
43:14triumph winner
