00:00Alright, we'll kickstart this edition with some news just coming in.
00:03This has got to do with the Onam celebrations and there is a rant that we are seeing.
00:07It's an anti-sort of a rant against Onam.
00:10Kerala teachers are divisive, it appears.
00:14Lessons in hate in God's own country with the teachers telling Muslim students shun Onam.
00:20Teacher Khadija says Onam celebration is un-Islamic.
00:24Kerala teachers hate lesson on tape.
00:26Onam is Kerala's official festival.
00:28The teacher, Khadija, has been booked for this sort of a divisive push that she made.
00:58Because of all the people who have been given us, it's a chance for us to do it.
01:07It's a chance for us to do it.
01:09It's a chance for us to do it.
01:11However, that is why we have to praise the Qur'an in the praise of the Qur'an.
01:21There is a caption in the Qur'an in the Quran.
01:28The reason for this anima is not in the Islamic language, the teaching of the religious people.
01:36They don't have access.
01:39It doesn'tilts true or its option.
01:41There is no way, there is no lie.
01:43People can accept this culture.
01:47That's why, about every person is a face of the woman,
01:52when you name a face of landed,
01:55InshaAllah.
01:57We often have a very important thing about the culture.
02:02We have a Muslim and Islam.
02:06We have a very important thing about the culture and how to live in Islam.
02:15We have a very important thing about the culture.
02:24Now, I'm going to do my work.
02:28I'm not going to do any of these things.
02:31Now, I'm going to do my work.
02:36Now, I'm going to do my celebration.
02:44Now, I'm going to do my celebration.
02:48I'm going to go straight across to Shibi Mall for more details on that story.
03:02Shibi, that is a controversial statement that has been made by the teacher Khadija in Questionnaire.
03:07I understand that there has been some sort of, you know, complaint against her as well,
03:11and she has been booked for this sort of a divisive push.
03:14What more details can you share with us?
03:17Well, Sneha, case has been registered against on the basis of the complaint by DYFI,
03:22which is the youth wing of CPIM.
03:24And also, the school management has said that they are suspending her as part of the investigation.
03:30The school management says that it was a personal opinion.
03:32It has nothing to do with the school management.
03:34They said that like every year this year also the Onam celebration is being conducted in a grand manner
03:39and all the messages were sent out for it.
03:41So, if the teacher has expressed something like that, then it's absolutely her personal opinion is what the school has said.
03:47But we have to understand that this was sent on a WhatsApp message or to a WhatsApp message on the WhatsApp group of parents.
03:54And the message was leaked from there, which means most of the parents had an issue with the content that she spoke in that WhatsApp voice note.
04:02See, Onam is a harvest festival and it's the official festival of Kerala.
04:06And over the day, over many years, it's been celebrated grandly by everybody.
04:10Irrespective of any faith, people have been celebrating Onam in Kerala.
04:13So, that's when a statement like this has been issued by a teacher.
04:17Remember, it's a teacher saying to students that, you know, we are telling the parents that children are very young.
04:22They are very excited to celebrate festivals like Onam, Christmas.
04:25But we should, as parents, we should make them understand that, you know, it's a festival of other religion.
04:31It's a festival of Hindu religion.
04:33So, we should not allow our children to participate in it because it can lead to shirks, which is like believing in more than one God.
04:43So, that's what a shirk means in Islam.
04:45So, you know, she's telling that your parents should make children understand that, you know, don't get excited for celebrations like Onam.
04:52Let's not participate in it because we are people belonging to Islam and we need to adhere to the teachings of Islam and live in that culture.
04:59So, these are like, you know, not very common statements that we want, that we have heard or want to hear in Kerala.
05:06And that's why the youth organizations have raised protest and filed a case against them.
05:11The youth organizations in the state have said they'll protest against this.
05:15They will, you know, demand more action from the school management.
05:18It should not end just in suspension.
05:20And the school management's role should also be investigated because, you know, it's not very likely that a teacher will just make a statement like that.
05:28So, it's a very divisive statement is what the youth organizations have alleged.
05:33The police have also started an investigation into it.
05:36But the school management is clarifying that it's her personal opinion and we will celebrate Onam like how we have been celebrating since the last many years.
05:44That's right. Be with us.
05:45You know, Shibi, I'll come back to you in a moment from now.
05:47It's actually a festival which is often celebrated by just so many people irrespective of the religion.
05:52And that is what Onam really is about because it's a harvest festival, isn't it?
05:56We'll come back to you.
05:57Listen in once again to what the teachers said.
05:59The school is distancing themselves from this controversy.
06:02But nevertheless, there is a controversy over this very divisive statement that has been made by teacher Khadija.
06:09We are telling each other at this time,
06:14The important thing is that our values and still bears the same as their talents are a culture of wisdom.
06:18darkness and still bear it but can't it?
06:22So, this is the first time we have to take the second time.
06:29So, we have to take the second time to take the second time.
06:35So, we will have to take the first time of our lives.
06:46That's why we have a prayer in the Qur'an.
06:53There are a few people.
06:55There is a caption in the Qur'an in the Quran.
07:01In the Islamic world, they don't know what they are doing.
07:14What is the important thing in this country?
07:15Do not worry, but this is not the origin of the country.
07:16What is the origin of our country?
07:17My country is the origin of the country.
07:18I will go to the origin of our country.
07:23We are the origin of the country.
07:25The origin of our country is the origin of the country.
07:29InshaAllah.
07:31Our country is becoming a different culture.
07:35We are one of the Muslims.
07:38We are Islam.
07:40I will be able to learn from other Muslims and learn from the same things.
07:48We will be able to learn from the same things as we have done.
07:56I will be able to learn from my work.
08:02In the next couple of hours, we will show you how to come.
08:08See how we are starting now.
08:13Now, this is how we are doing.
08:17It is not a celebration.
08:22celebration
08:24that
08:25not the
08:25ф
08:30妹
08:31alright, more news
08:33coming in
08:34in connection
08:34with this
08:35controversy as well
08:36as far as
08:37the teacher's
08:38divisive
08:38Antiona Brand
08:39is concerned
08:40two teachers
08:41have been
08:41suspended
08:42Shibbi continues
08:43to be with us
08:44Shibbi I understand
08:45that the Sirajul
08:46Ulum English
08:47School Management
08:48has suspended
08:49two teachers
08:50involved in
08:50this controversy
08:51who is the
08:52second teacher what has the management really said? Well Sneha the official complaint with
08:58police has been filed against one teacher named Katija but there have been two teachers involved
09:03in the controversy is what we're understanding because there were two audio notes that you know
09:07that went viral that got leaked from the whatsapp groups in one of the audios that we're hearing the
09:12teacher says that you know we shouldn't make our children and you know educate our children about
09:15not participating in festivals like Onam. In the other audio another teacher can be say you know
09:21can be heard saying that the KG classes students in the KG classes will be given a holiday on
09:26Onam celebration let them not participate in it and that teacher can be heard can be heard saying
09:30that the Onam will not be celebrated in a very grand manner like we used to celebrate in the last
09:34years because there are children from multiple faiths studying in the school and it's not fair
09:38to you know encourage students to participate in the festivals of other faith and she also says
09:43that there are small children in the KG classes who are excited about you know who have already
09:47to inform teachers that they've got new clothes for Onam and also you have to make children understand
09:52that it's a festival of another religion so that should be that should be done by the parents is
09:58what the other teacher says the complaint has been filed against only one but the management says two
10:03of them have been suspended as part of investigation there the management has informed them about the
10:08school's protest in this and also says that it's purely the teacher's personal opinion it can be heard
10:13the audio also that you know that uh telling it in a way it's like it's their own personal opinion and
10:18the management has nothing to do with it the management had already sent messages to the PTA
10:23groups and whatsapp groups class groups uh informing them about the Onam celebration scheduled on August
10:2728th so that celebration is going to take place in a grand manner like how it has happened it has
10:32nothing to do with the school management is what the management says but uh you know we like to see
10:37because these are messages sent on official groups by teachers and uh well we don't know exactly if there was any
10:43uh direction from the management also to the teachers to make such statements but for as of
10:48now management says no involvement from therein but uh you know this is uh very concerning constraint
10:52that the management has distanced itself from this controversy our action has been taken against two
10:57teachers and that hate lesson has been caught on tape essentially it's a voice note of the teacher
11:04that speaks volumes of how she's asking children from the muslim community to not celebrate
11:09which really is a harvest festival and celebrated by one and all in kerala we're shifting focus now
11:17tvk chief which has made several friends and enemies and stepping into politics on the 21st of august
11:23during a public conference in madurai vijay was unexpectedly blocked by one of his own party members
11:28tvk carder sharat kumar climbed the ramp in an attempt to get closer to vijay which was pushed away by a
11:34bouncer as a result he fell and sustained a chest injury sharat kumar has now become the complainant
11:41in this case sharat kumar has filed a complaint against vijay on three serious charges accusing vijay of
11:47threatening a public servant disrupting a religious assembly and abetting a serious crime that was not
11:53committed these charges have proven could carry significant legal consequences
11:57the bouncer culture should be abolished
12:27any politician
12:29have no right
12:31to have bouncers and have
12:33control on their
12:35party workers
12:36if at all a disciplined party
12:39this incident should not have happened
12:42right from the day one
12:44Vijay came into being in politics
12:46I have been condemning
12:47that using of bouncers
12:49is not going to help
12:51this is not a democracy
12:53this is not politics
12:55so first of all
12:57Vijay should announce
12:59that he will do away
13:01with bouncers
13:02if not
13:03there is no use in having a political party
13:06with him
13:07after all political party is for the masters
13:09is for the people
13:11who want democracy
13:13there is no democracy
13:15that's it
13:16a controversy that has erupted
13:22over use of a bouncer
13:24and now Vijay has been booked for the same
13:26Pramod Madhav is getting in more details
13:28Pramod talked to us about
13:30what is the TVK now saying
13:32after this controversy
13:33in fact a member of the own party
13:34was thrown off the stage
13:36and you know he was injured as well
13:38those pictures speaking volumes
13:40of how the bouncers really
13:41you know pushed off the worker there
13:45and also hurt him
13:46you know he is
13:47this is a controversy
13:49that of course the BJP has
13:51tried to corner Vijay on
13:52isn't it
13:53it surely is Neha
13:57and as you can see
13:58we also have the visuals
13:59of what happened to that
14:00the caterer slash fan
14:02of TVK
14:03because his name is
14:04Bajarat Kumar
14:04and he said that
14:05he wanted to climb over the ramp
14:06many people have climbed over
14:07that 350 meters ramp
14:10that was created for Vijay
14:11to walk
14:12and see the people
14:13almost like
14:13we have been told
14:14that the chairs were for 2 lakh people
14:16but the crowd
14:17that was more than 5 lakh over there
14:19and that is the reason
14:19Vijay had to bring along
14:21bouncers with them
14:21but one of those bouncers
14:22as you can see in those visuals
14:24what he is doing is that
14:25he is not you know
14:26pushing the caterer away
14:27he is actually trying to
14:28do a body slam
14:29and that horse has become
14:30a problem right now
14:31because that is extremely violent
14:33and there is no need
14:34for a bouncer to act
14:35in such manner
14:36and what happened is that
14:37luckily instead of falling down
14:39he held on to a pipe
14:41that is close to the ramp
14:42and he saved himself
14:43and that is the reason
14:43now he has filed a case
14:45claiming that he is
14:46extremely injured
14:47and nobody has called him
14:48so far to even ask
14:49or check about his health
14:50and that is why
14:51he wants action taken
14:52against those
14:53who are involved
14:54in fact
14:54this is a controversy
14:56certainly that Vijay
14:58could have done
14:59without this election season
15:00isn't it
15:00Pramodh
15:01I am going to leave it there
15:01for the moment
15:02thanking you for getting
15:03in those details
15:04alright the tea day
15:20has arrived
15:21and US tariffs
15:22are in effect
15:23the United States
15:24officially imposing
15:25an additional 25%
15:27tariffs
15:28on Indian goods
15:29raising the total
15:30levy
15:31to over 50%
15:32there are several
15:34key sectors
15:34textile
15:35shrimp
15:35gems
15:36leather
15:36already reeling under
15:37the impact of
15:38Trump's tariffs
15:39as we've seen
15:40India has asserted
15:41its right to uphold
15:42strategic autonomy
15:43in buying Russian crude
15:44is working to counter
15:46the impact of these
15:48tariffs essentially
15:49Prime Minister Modi
15:50has chaired a high level
15:51meeting already
15:52to discuss the measures
15:53to soften this blow
15:55the Prime Minister
15:56has hit out
15:57an economic selfishness
15:58and he said so
15:59calling it a barrier
16:00to global fairness
16:01they affirmed
16:02that India's
16:03national interests
16:04will remain
16:04the top priority
16:05regardless of
16:06external pressure
16:07justifying the tariffs
16:09US President Donald Trump
16:10cited India's
16:11continued purchase
16:13of Russian oil
16:14and defence equipment
16:15accusing New Delhi
16:16of indirectly aiding
16:17Moscow's war efforts
16:18in Ukraine
16:20Ankush Bhandari
16:25geopolitical analyst
16:26is joining us
16:27from New York City
16:28at this point
16:29in time now
16:30thank you so much
16:31for joining in
16:31and speaking with
16:32India today
16:33I want to begin
16:34by asking you
16:35first of all
16:36how do you see
16:37India's response
16:38to all of this
16:38I think we've made
16:39it very clear
16:40that these bullying
16:41tactics really won't work
16:43the Prime Minister's
16:44office has met
16:44deliberated on how
16:45small and medium
16:47enterprises
16:48will be protected
16:49with the interest
16:50of Indian farmers
16:51comes foremost
16:52before everybody else
16:54yeah Suneha
16:58thank you for
17:00inviting me first
17:01as you already
17:03mentioned that
17:04India has been
17:04very definite
17:05and they want
17:06to protect
17:07its own
17:07voter base
17:09or its own people
17:10and same with
17:11the case with
17:12the Trump
17:12administration
17:13here they want
17:14to save their
17:14voter base
17:15their own people
17:16I think
17:18every country
17:18has its right
17:19to
17:20to protest
17:22or to save
17:23itself
17:24or not to agree
17:25with other
17:25country's demand
17:26and India
17:28has proven
17:29in the past
17:30whether it's
17:311971 war
17:32or it's
17:321999
17:33Kargil conflict
17:35or even
17:36this time
17:37in the tariff
17:38nuclear war
17:39what we are
17:39calling it here
17:40India has
17:42stand
17:42strong
17:44against
17:44what
17:46administration
17:47the Trump
17:47administration
17:48has said
17:48and I think
17:50I think
17:51that's the
17:52that's the way
17:53if Indian
17:54government
17:54want to go
17:55ahead
17:55I think
17:57that's the best
17:57way
17:58they think
17:58and they have
17:59standing up
18:00so
18:00this is the
18:02this is the
18:02very optimum
18:03this is not
18:05the very optimum
18:06solution
18:06as per my
18:07understanding
18:08they should
18:09have spoken
18:10but if
18:11that's the
18:12case
18:12they want
18:12to go
18:13ahead
18:13then
18:14as
18:14as
18:15Indian
18:16American
18:18I think
18:19it's
18:20it's okay
18:21with the
18:21Indian
18:22Prime Minister
18:22what they are
18:23taking the
18:23stand
18:24you know
18:24but I also
18:24want to ask
18:25you that
18:25this looks
18:26like it's
18:26going to be
18:26advantage
18:27China and
18:27Vietnam
18:28given that
18:28India's
18:29export
18:30in fact
18:31sector
18:31will be
18:31deeply
18:32impacted
18:32and there
18:32would be
18:33of course
18:33other
18:33beneficiaries
18:34as always
18:34and this
18:35time around
18:36it's going
18:36to be
18:36China
18:36and Vietnam
18:37is what
18:38it looks
18:38like
18:38what could
18:39have been
18:39a better
18:40way forward
18:40also I'd
18:41like you
18:42to throw
18:42a little
18:42more light
18:43on what
18:43are the
18:43export
18:44items
18:45essentially
18:45the sectors
18:46are exports
18:47which would
18:47be deeply
18:47impacted
18:48by this
18:49you know
18:49this sort
18:50of a
18:50decision
18:51that has
18:51been taken
18:52by the
18:52American
18:52administration
18:53so are
18:55you asking
18:55me the
18:56import
18:56of the
18:57American
18:57goods
18:58to
18:58Indian
19:00goods
19:01to
19:01America
19:01yes
19:02Indian
19:02goods
19:02to
19:02America
19:03yes
19:03okay
19:04yeah
19:05see
19:05Indian
19:06Trump
19:08administration
19:09has not
19:10put
19:10the ban
19:12on
19:12electronics
19:13and software
19:14which is a
19:15crucial part
19:16of the
19:16American
19:16economy
19:17which is
19:17very good
19:18because
19:19it's also
19:20a multi-billion
19:21dollar industry
19:22for India
19:23too
19:23they have
19:24not put
19:25any
19:26tariffs
19:27on the
19:28pharmaceuticals
19:29because
19:30India
19:30is the

23:41I am very hopeful that we will find a way to conclude a satisfactory, mutually beneficial
24:10free trade agreement with the United States early rather than late and that would certainly
24:17take us to the next step of the visit of President Trump to India, a meeting of the Quad leaders
24:23and I think really setting us back on track.
24:2850% tariff is a big number. It will impact our exports, the dollar volume and also it
24:36would imply back end in India, it will mean job losses in some sectors. However, India
24:42I think is taking a holistic view. One, the government is trying to, and the industry
24:49itself is trying to diversify and open up new export markets, that's one. Also, the
24:55country itself, there is now a push to improve our own productivity, make our goods more competitive
25:02for global standards. So, it will be a mix of steps taken externally by India and internally
25:09by India to face this hardship. But yes, some sacrifices will have to be made.
25:16I think it will maybe impact the business but in a very temporary manner. I think both countries
25:22are still in the negotiations, in the discussions to have a win-win deal in the bilateral agreements.
25:29And I am sure that both the governments will actually, you know, reach a very good fruitful
25:34agreement which is mutually beneficial for both. So, maybe there is some temporary, you
25:39know, hiccup that will come. But I think, I am sure both countries will reach to a win-win
25:44agreement.
25:45Tariffs are obstacles to free trade, wherever they are, whether it's on the Indian side, whether
25:53it's on the European side, whether it's on the U.S. side. So, we would always be in favor of reducing
25:58tariffs to a minimum level.
26:02U.S. President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he personally intervened to stop
26:07a nuclear confrontation between India and Pakistan during heightened tensions between the two
26:12neighbors. While Operation Sindhuur was underway, speaking during a cabinet meeting at the White
26:16House, he said he threatened India with steep tariffs and refused to proceed with the trade
26:21deal unless the conflict was resolved. Listen in.
26:25And I am talking to a very terrific man, Modi of India. And I say, what's going on with
26:35you in Pakistan? Then I am talking to Pakistan on trade. I said, what's going on with you in
26:41India? And the hatred was tremendous. Now, this has been going on for a hell of a long time,
26:46like, sometimes with different names for hundreds of years. But I said, what's going on? I said,
26:55I don't want to make a trade deal. No, no, no, we want to make a trade deal. I said, no, no,
26:59I don't want to make a trade deal with you. You're going to have a nuclear war. You guys are going to
27:03end up in a nuclear war. And that was very important to them. I said, call me back tomorrow,
27:10but we're not going to do any deals with you or we're going to put tariffs on you that are so high.
27:14You were there, Howard, right? You're going to put tariffs on you that were so high. I don't
27:19give a damn. Your head's going to spin. You're not going to end up in a war. Within about
27:23five hours, it was done.
27:27And Rajdeep Sardasai spoke with American economist Jeffrey D. Sats on Trump tariffs on India.
27:34Listen in.
27:36So as the tariff war now threatens to explode, I'm joined by a very special guest. Joining me
27:43from New York is one of the world's leading economists and public policy analysts. Jeffrey,
27:47Professor Jeffrey Sachs joins me from New York. Appreciate your joining us, Professor Sachs.
27:53You've been a clear critic of Donald Trump's tariff policies. You've described them in the
27:58past as stupid, bizarre, economically reckless and self-destructive of U.S. foreign policy interests.
28:05Despite that, as we've seen, the Trump administration has decided to go ahead with 50 percent tariffs
28:10on Indian goods, including a 25 percent tariff tied to India's Russian oil purchases. Do you
28:16believe that Donald Trump has simply lost it or is he arm-twisting India?
28:22Well, he's trying to arm-twist India, but he's not going to succeed. What he is succeeding
28:28in doing is uniting the BRICS countries, bringing India closer to Russia, to China, to Brazil,
28:37to other major economies in the world. He is isolating the United States from the world economy
28:47because, after all, these tariffs are making the U.S. industry less competitive. Maybe they'll produce
28:54more for the home market, but they'll be less competitive internationally. And what countries like
29:00India and China and Russia will find out is that the fast-growing majority of the world economy is
29:10not the United States or even Europe. It is the emerging economies around the world. So I think
29:16Trump is shooting, I won't say himself in the foot, he's shooting America in the foot, my country. He's
29:24making it less prosperous and less competitive, but he is effectively uniting the rest of the world
29:30in closer relations.
29:34The fact is, despite all the criticism of his tariff policies, he's unrelenting. In fact,
29:40his trade advisor, Mr. Navarro, says India is the Maharaja of tariffs, accuses India of profiteering
29:47from cheap Russian oil purchases. So Trump isn't backing down. That has perplexed a few people
29:54who thought that he would pull back as he had with China. With India, he seems to be going all
30:00the way. I don't think Trump understands very much about what he does. And I don't think that
30:09the advisors understand much about India. Clearly, Mr. Navarro does not. And they thought that they
30:18could bully India, which is absurd. For the United States to think that it could bully a great power
30:26with 1.5 billion people, I could have told them no. But as I told many friends in India,
30:33don't trust the United States either. The U.S. is not after a special relationship with India.
30:41The United States is short-sighted, poorly led, unstable, and not the basis for India's long-term
30:49development.
30:51In fact, Rajdeep also spoke with former Indian ambassador to United States Naftesh Sarna on
30:56Trump tariff impact on India.
31:01Naftesh Sarna, there's the challenge diplomatically. You've got all that feel-good factor,
31:08Trump Sarkar, Howdy, Modi, all of that seems now way in the past. Do you believe that this
31:16relationship is now floundering at the moment, a 25-year-old relationship in which a number
31:21of people have invested? Is there a serious trust deficit or is this a temporary blip in your
31:26view?
31:28Thank you, Rajdeep. You're absolutely right that the feel-good factor is significantly
31:36missing today. And you rightly said that 25 years, we've seen an upward graph of this
31:43relationship, no matter, and that's been a bipartisan thing both in India and in the United
31:48States.
31:49Unfortunately, I think what has happened over the last few months has damaged the relationship,
31:57most importantly, on the trust front. And all the skeptics who always said that you can't
32:04trust the U.S., you can't, you know, tie your troth to the U.S. and all that, I think they
32:12have been proved correct. So, I think even if…
32:19Prime Minister Muldean is first of a podcast interview with Zerodha CEO Nikhil Kamath had
32:24revealed that his risk-taking abilities had not been fully utilized.
32:28Prime Minister Muldean, I think the risk-taking capacity of my risk-taking capacity has not
32:31been fully utilized. It is very small. My risk-taking capacity will likely be more than a
32:44significant reason. This is because of the concern that I am not having to receive the
32:49More news coming in, this is a story we are reporting on from Kona Seema right here with
33:18The class 10 student has been brutally ragged, is brutalized and branded with hot iron around
33:27his abdomen and arms, it's a shocker that we are reporting on at this point in time from
33:32Andhra Pradesh, it's a ragging shocker of involving a class 10 student who was subjected to brutal
33:39torture by his hostile mates at the Sri Chaitanya school, the victim identified as Gurum Vincent
33:47Prasad was branded with a hot iron box on his abdomen and arms by fellow students 10 days
33:55ago.
33:56The mother of the victim had visited the hostel recently noticed her son's injuries.
34:03The boy reportedly was threatened with dire consequences if he revealed the assault.
34:09The mother has said that he was assaulted and was crying in pain and when she questioned
34:13him he said his classmates had pressed a hot iron box on his body.
34:20They also warned the young child, telling him that he should not be telling anyone or they
34:25would kill him, is what is now being alleged by his mother.
34:30The police are investigating this case, a complaint has been lodged, is what we are learning.
34:37Why is the police?
34:40The police are protesting on their bodies.
34:46It's the police.
34:49The police are protesting on the other hand.
34:54The police are protesting on the police, it's a police officer.
34:58Last week when I had come down to take my bag, two of my classmates came and asked me to check for the CCTV camera.
35:20Time to check they snatched the CCTV camera from where it was placed and stealthily kept it in my bag.
35:35The school principal and the hostel board had called us the next day questioning about the CCTV camera and those students had picked my name saying that I would also be there.
35:48Then they asked me to tell the truth. I told them that it was my classmates who had gone and taken the CCTV camera.
35:58After I had told the truth, these two students got me back to the hostel room and then locked me up inside and beat me badly.
36:07They also threatened me with dire consequences.
36:10I took an iron box and scarred me on my hands, my thighs and my stomach warning me of consequences saying that just for the CCTV they had done this.
36:25And if I went and showed these injuries then there would be similar consequences to my actions before they threatened.
36:35Which is why I had been scared and been silent for the last one week.
36:41I even lied to the hospital and asked them for an ointment for my hands.
36:53Then my mother came around and when she saw what had happened she questioned why I had kept silent for this one week.
37:03My mother came into my mother.
37:08My mother came to the hospital.
37:10My father, my mother, my father, my father, my father and my father.
37:14I had been raised in my hospital.
37:16My son, he had been studying, we just joined with Chaitanya school and he's been studying here for almost one year.
37:30class 10 currently and that they had given him an injection and medicine for his fever when i
37:53asked him if i should come and take him up he said no but they had given me into medicine
37:58and then because it is a viral fever he would like to rest at the hostel
38:02after almost one week since i have not heard from him uh since the last call i went to see him
38:13i went he immediately saw me and he came and started crying this is the first time i've seen him cry
38:20in a long time
38:25a poor boy is with us a poor boy this is absolutely horrific you know tell us a little about what the
38:30administration the school administration are now saying given that they didn't even you know tell
38:35or inform the parents this child continued to suffer for days together until the time the mother visited
38:41him well that's right in fact it's a very shocking incident that has come up here
38:46from ahipadesh in fact the child there what he's saying is that he had also since the last one week
38:52he had been suffering silently is what he says he said that he's also lied to the school authority
38:57saying that uh he had been burnt by hot water and which is why they had given him ointment but that he
39:04had not told or revealed uh what had actually happened to anybody including the hostel warden and the
39:09authorities neither to his mother as well because he was threatening with dire consequences that's
39:14the video uh that we can see of the child there that has now come out in fact we are yet to get a
39:20statement from the school authorities there but the school education uh department there deo has taken
39:26action cognizance of this incident that had taken place and in fact today uh they are uh you know on the
39:33ground there visiting the school and the hostel and looking into who are those two students who had been
39:38behind this accident and why they are threatening them and they're looking to see what next uh action
39:44can be taken against be it the school uh you know the school principal the hostel warden or even those
39:50who had committed such a heinous crime on this 16 year old boy i'm going to leave it that for the
39:55moment getting in those details is my colleague apurva jayachandran this morning
