Authors of The Resistance is amplifying the call for justice for Dayra, a 6-year-old little girl deported from New York City, and her mother, Martha.

The deportation of Dayra is not just a personal tragedy for her family—it is a glaring example of the systemic failures that criminalize, dehumanize, and endanger immigrant children and their parents. No child should be torn from their community and stripped of safety, dignity, and belonging.

Every deportation like this sends a dangerous message that immigrant lives, especially those of children, are disposable. We reject that message.

We stand with Dayra and Martha, demanding answers, accountability, and the end of policies that allow such cruelty to unfold. Dayra’s life matters. Her future matters. We will not be silent.
