00:00An Israeli strike on Nasser Hospital in Gaza drew a rush of journalists and first responders,
00:08sifting through the wreckage for survivors and the remains of those killed.
00:13Among the dead, cameraman Hussam al-Masri, a contractor who worked for Reuters.
00:19He was up on an external stairwell, providing this live feed,
00:24showing smoke rising from fighting elsewhere when the strike hit.
00:30A responder holds up a camera and a live-view broadcast unit, used to transmit live video, while others gather up a body.
00:38The man in the red t-shirt is photographer Hatem Khaled, another Reuters contractor, who can be seen filming the recovery.
00:47Then, a second Israeli strike hits the hospital.
00:57Khaled, the photographer, was injured.

01:12Palestinian health officials said at least 15 people, including four journalists, were killed in the strikes.
01:19In a statement, a Reuters spokesperson said,
01:21We are devastated to learn of the death of Reuters contractor Hussam al-Masri and injuries to another of our contractors, Hatem Khaled,
01:29in Israeli strikes on the Nasser Hospital in Gaza today.

01:33Health officials in Gaza named the three other journalists as Mariam Abu Daga, a freelancer who worked for the Associated Press,
01:49Mohamed Salama, who worked for Qatar-based Al Jazeera, and Muaz Abu Taha.
01:54Health officials added a rescue worker was also among those killed.
01:58The Israeli military confirmed it carried out a strike on Nasser Hospital.
02:02In a statement, it said it, quote,
02:04Regrets any harm to uninvolved individuals and does not target journalists as such.
02:10The Palestinian journalist syndicate condemned Israel for the strikes,
02:13saying it represented, quote,
02:14An open war against free media with the aim of terrorizing journalists and preventing them from fulfilling their professional duty of exposing its crimes to the world.
