00:02I am psyched that EA Sports has invited me to get into the nitty gritty about Be A Pro in NHL 26.

00:08Who better do that with than North Vancouver's very own Macklin Celebrini.

00:13I get to talk about Be A Pro, which hasn't seen an update like this in some time.

00:18All new presentation elements refresh storylines, characters, challenges and consequences.

00:24That means every decision you make will impact your career as you try to go from rookie to superstar.

00:30With more on that, let's go to Mike Englehart.

00:32We know you all love some good old pricey pond hockey, but it was due time for a refresh.

00:37One of the big updates to Be A Pro in NHL 26 is in its presentation.

00:42There are a grip of new cut scenes and cinematics along with all new voice actors,

00:46which really elevate the mode and story at large.

00:49Hey, congrats on making the roster. This is a huge accomplishment.

00:52From a new World Juniors trophy ceremony sequence, cinematics of the moment you get drafted,

00:57your first time in an NHL dressing room, all new tunnel walkouts,

01:01to celebrating with the Stanley Cup in that dressing room,

01:04these new visuals immerse you in the drama and storytelling of a superstar NHL journey.

01:10One of the new additions we're really excited about are the new media scrums,

01:14where, depending on how you play, you'll either get your flowers or get grilled.

01:19And every response you give comes with consequences and affects how your player will grow.

01:26We heard the community and we took action.

01:29Be A Pro in NHL 26 is a completely reimagined experience

01:33that begins with an all-new chapter-based core game loop,

01:36which brings about more stakes and immediate impactful consequences to your actions in-game.

01:41Now, your story begins in the semifinals of the World Juniors,

01:45where you create your character, pick your nation,

01:49and your performance dictates your NHL draft positioning.

01:53From there, immerse yourself in the emotion of the draft and your first NHL game

01:57as you dive into your rookie year, the chase for the Cup,

02:00and, if you can pull it off, a Hall of Fame-worthy career.

02:04Once I was dressed and everything, I was just so excited to start playing.

02:08I still remember going out for the rookie lap, looking around the arena,

02:12like, it was kind of like a moment where it hit me.

02:16What we wanted to make sure we foregrounded and be a pro

02:18was the emotion of the pro hockey journey,

02:21both the highs and the lows,

02:22and that comes through in how you carry yourself off the ice,

02:25in front of the media, and in your performances on the ice.

02:29Each has consequences, big and small, that impact your playthrough.

02:33To that end, your performance affects your progression from chapter to chapter.

02:37Play well and get bumped up to the starting line

02:39and bask in the adoration of the fans and the media.

02:43Underperform and you'll stay put on the bench,

02:45face pointed questions from the press,

02:47tough talks with management, and even a trip down to the AHL.

02:51This degree of self-determination adds an incredible amount of substance

02:54and just like a pro hockey career, you'll feel the pressure.
