What Is The UClips Back Bar?
--

The Back Bar is a 5-in-1 attachment (from the makers of the UClips) made specifically for back workouts.

I can connect it to a cable machine like I show above and I can use the notch in the middle of the bar for landmine barbell rows and as a barbell jack.

On each end of the bar there’s a neutral grip handle but it also has 10 holes between the outer handles and the center so I can clip on handles at different widths.

It serves many purposes which is great because versatility is king in home gyms.

00:00Today I'm reviewing the Euclips Back Bar. This is a multifunctional cable attachment that replaces
00:04several attachments and it also doesn't take up a lot of space so it's versatile and reduces
00:09clutter in your home gym. Now I've reviewed several products in the past that do something
00:12similar to this one. I've reviewed the Ironmaster Ultimate Roll Handle, the Major Fitness Multifunctional
00:18Handle Bar, and the Gym Pin Holy Bar. Now they all work in a similar fashion. I can do cable
00:23attachment exercises like lat pulldowns, I can do seated rows, and I can do landmine rows.
00:28Now with the Euclips, the Euclips is introducing a couple more functions. I can use it as a barbell
00:34jack. I can also use this as a flat triceps bar. So I'm going to put it to the test, tell you what
00:39I like and don't like about it, and give you all the details. First thing I'm going to touch on is
00:43the build. This thing is built solidly. It feels heavier than eight pounds and it's made out of
00:47mostly steel. Now the weight capacity is high. You have on the cable attachments a weight capacity of
00:52400 pounds and then for a barbell jack or barbell rows, you can have up to 800 pounds on this thing.
00:58So it can definitely take on a lot of weight. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go from
01:02the center and then work my way out and show you the different parts of the bar. Now the center,
01:06you can see here there's UHMW plastic surrounding these pieces of metal here. And then you have
01:12different notches. If you look over here, there's a notch here in the center and then
01:16a notch on each side here. Now the center notch, that's where the barbell sits when I'm doing
01:20landmine barbell rows. And then for the side notches, that's where the barbell is going to sit
01:25when I use it as a barbell jack. Now one thing I've noticed though about the UHMW plastic here
01:31is that they made it so that it sits flush with these parts, these pieces of metal. So it's
01:36actually not protecting your barbell whenever it's coming in contact with the bar here because
01:41this needs, the UHMW should have been sticking out further, a little bit further than the metal
01:46parts here. So if you're somebody that doesn't like getting scratches on your barbell or on your
01:50pieces of equipment, then just know that this is going to get scratched. For me, it's not a huge
01:54deal, but you can see there, there are scratches on there so that UHMW plastic should be sticking
02:00out further than what it currently is. Now right in between both UHMW parts, you have a hole here in
02:06the center and that's where you clip on your carabiner for your cable attachment. Now next to that,
02:12right in the center here, you have a piece of metal there with 10 holes so you can attach
02:16a handle with carabiners on there or you can use something like an Angles 90 that has a strap
02:22and that just gives me versatility as far as the width goes. If I want to go narrow,
02:26then I would have to attach a handle. If not, I can just go with the neutral grip here on the sides.
02:32Now as far as the handle goes, the handle is about four and a quarter inches by five and a quarter
02:37inches and it's made out of PVC material. They call it light knurling or passive knurling.
02:43I really don't feel the need for knurling on this piece of a handle here just because my hand is
02:50hooking right here at the top. I don't have to actually grab it, which is a good thing for me. For
02:54me personally, I prefer this style of mag grip handle because I have chronic elbow issues, the inside
03:00of my elbow. I always get golfer's elbows. So by having this mag grip here, this releases or reduces
03:06the amount of tension on my forearm because I can't grip it completely and that way I can focus more
03:11my back muscles rather than my forearm muscles getting out. So that's a good thing for me.
03:16Now as far as the exercises go, I'm going to show you that right now and tell you what I feel about
03:19them. And with the Eucalypse back bar, I'm able to get five different exercises. So this can replace
03:24several cable attachments. And at the same time, remember I have that function where I can use it
03:28as a barbell jack. So that adds to the versatility of the product. And when it comes to lat pulldowns,
03:32I don't feel like I need to add anything to it. I feel that I'm good enough with this width,
03:37with this grip. And then when I'm doing the exercise, I get good enough range of motion at
03:41the bottom here and a good stretch at the top. Now for seated rows, again, I don't feel like I
03:46need to add anything to it. Once that bar is hitting my chest here, I feel like my elbows are far enough
03:51where I'm getting a good contraction in my mid-back muscles. If you're somebody that likes to change
03:55the grip with, if you want to go narrow, then of course you can add a handle here to get that narrow
04:00grip. Now the other function for this, the other cable function is to use it as a triceps flat bar.
04:06Now for that, you're going to have to flip it upside down, hook the carabiner here,
04:10and this will automatically turn on its side. And then that gives me the ability to use this part
04:15here as a flat bar. Now it's not going to be as wide as an actual triceps flat bar, but it's good
04:20enough where I can still set my hand on there and not have to grip the bar because that's another
04:25benefit to the flat bar. I don't have to grip the bar. So my forearm is out of the exercise. So I can
04:29focus on either my lats if I'm doing something like a straight arm lat pulldown or my triceps if I'm
04:35doing triceps extensions. So it feels good. Again, not as wide as an actual triceps flat bar,
04:41but it gets the job done. And then the final exercise is going to be the landmine row.
04:46Now for the landmine row, if you have 450 millimeter weight plates, it's not going to be
04:50good enough to get full range of motion. So if I'm doing a landmine row, the 450 millimeter diameter
04:55plate, it's going to hit your chest before you can get full range of motion. So for that one,
04:59I do have to add angles, 90 clips or grips for that one or anything with a carabiner,
05:05you can, it works as well. But yeah, you're going to need the extra handle here to get full range of
05:09motion for that exercise. If all you have is 400 millimeter weight plates. But other than that,
05:14I mean, it feels really good for all the different exercises I've tried. I don't have any complaints as
05:18far as that goes. So I think they did a really good job. Now, as far as the price for the back bar goes,
05:23I think they priced it well at 125. Iron Master's ultimate roll handle is about 145 bucks.
05:29And then Major Fitness's multifunctional handle is about 200 bucks. So this one is 125. So that's a
05:36good deal. And this one does a little bit more than the other one. So as far as price goes, I think
05:40it's right on the money. So now I'll give you my pros and cons. The only con I have about the back bar
05:44is that the UHMW plastic here doesn't stick out far enough to protect the barbell or the product
05:49itself. So if you're somebody who cares about scratches, then this might not be a good fit
05:54for you. What I see here is that Euclips has to extend it just a little bit further and that
05:58should solve that problem. Now, I feel the pros though outweigh the cons by a lot. This here reduces
06:04the amount of different attachments that I would need. It reduces clutter in a home gym. And this also
06:09has a solid build, which it's all steel. It has a weight capacity of 400 pounds for cable exercises
06:15and 800 pounds for landmine and barbell jack functions. So it can definitely take on a lot
06:22of weight. I feel that the mat grips are good. They're good enough for me to hook my fingers
06:26on there. Reduces the pain that I feel on the elbow. So it reduces the tension on the forearm
06:31so I can focus more on my back. And then I have the ability to attach handles here at 10 different
06:37spots. So I have the ability to vary the width of the handles. So overall, I'll give it a thumbs
06:43up. So that's my review on the Euclips Backbar. If you want to learn more about it, I'll leave a link
