00:00:00The End
00:01:00In that vast expanse of rich country, west of the Mississippi to the Pacific, the American Indian rules supreme.
00:01:27That is, until the coming of the white man.
00:01:31They came in wagons and on foot with all their worldly possessions.
00:01:37These people, the pioneers of our golden west.
00:01:41Time and distance were so great as they plotted on to their destination that often with the dawn came the cry of new life.
00:01:49As each day neared the end, there were many tired and toil-worn people.
00:01:56The circle camp was set up for the coming night in hope of rest and protection from the dangers that lurked in this new land.
00:02:03So far from their home, they had left behind.
00:02:07All this happened before the eyes of the red man.
00:02:13The American Indian saw a new people entering the lands he had known as his own.
00:02:18Some were friendly, some were hostile, and some moved on.
00:02:24Another morning, each day brought new hardships and toil, a burden that would have crushed weaker spirits.
00:02:34But for some, there was no morning.
00:02:37Their journey ended before their destination was reached.
00:02:39All who ventured west encountered the hazards of sickness, violence, hunger, and thirst.
00:02:46Only the stronger, with saddened hearts, moved on.
00:02:51Others perished, leaving no history of their passing.
00:02:56The only evidence of their fate is what the buzzards left.
00:03:01As the west developed, the cavalry often came to the rescue of the distressed,
00:03:06restoring peace where there was neither law nor order.
00:03:08Soldiers and scouts, such as Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Pike, Crockett,
00:03:14Fremont, Kip Carson, Custer.
00:03:17These men made the journey of our pioneers less hazardous.
00:03:22The trailblazers of the west were these pioneers that helped make our country what it is today.
00:03:27Farmers, traders, trappers, craftsmen, missionaries, soldiers, and scouts.
00:03:34Men and women who dreamed of a better world in which to live.
00:03:37The scouts protected the migration of livestock, where it was most needed.
00:03:46A friend, both to the white man and Indian, one of the foremost scouts was William Cody,
00:03:53better known as Buffalo Bill.
00:03:56The first chance I get, I'm through.
00:04:04I'm through, I'll tell you.
00:04:05There's your chance, Cactus.
00:04:16Oh, now, Bill, don't be too racy.
00:04:25Besides, I don't think that flagging train's going in my direction.
00:04:28Direction or no direction.
00:04:30You still make a good nursemaid to a calf.
00:04:31Yeah, well, Bill, I didn't mind fighting Indians with you.
00:04:35I didn't mind crossing the Great Divide.
00:04:37But when it comes to being nursemaid to a journey north and calf, I'm going to draw the line.
00:04:42Maybe you look like a motherly type.
00:04:45Hey, you forgot to burp it.
00:04:47Oh, Bill.
00:04:49Look, Indians.
00:04:50They're going to attack the wagon train.
00:04:57Let's get to our horses.
00:05:20Let's get to our horses.
00:05:50Let's get to our horses.
00:06:20Let's get to our horses.
00:06:50Watch yourself, Bill!
00:06:59What is it?
00:07:01Females!
00:07:02Females!
00:07:04This must be a marion plane!
00:07:20This must be a marion plane!
00:07:50That's pretty good cutin' for a female, ma'am.
00:08:20Well, ain't no doubt about you, critter as big as you couldn't be a woman.
00:08:40Oh, you think I am too big, moron?
00:08:42What do you want?
00:08:43Skin and bone?
00:08:45You have nothing but a skinny man.
00:08:47Oh, you're hot!
00:08:49What a man!
00:08:50That woman is a woman!
00:08:54Ha, ha, ha, ha!
00:08:57Woo!
00:09:00Maria's our cook.
00:09:01She's been with us for years.
00:09:03And there's a better shot than most of us.
00:09:04I can understand Maria wearing a dress.
00:09:06This is the first time I've ever seen soldiers in skirts.
00:09:09My name is Bill Cody.
00:09:11Buffalo Bill!
00:09:12Well, this is a pleasure.
00:09:14I'm Lieutenant Bryan in charge of the post at Fort Randall.
00:09:17I guess you're wondering about a little masquerade.
00:09:19The settlers here about left us for protection.
00:09:22There's been four wagon train attacks in the past few weeks.
00:09:25We thought we'd give those two something that looked like easy picking.
00:09:28The sheriff of Sue is calling the peace treaty with us.
00:09:31I was there in White Cloud, and the other chiefs agreed to the truth.
00:09:34Yes, I know.
00:09:34But you can see how they keep their treaty.
00:09:36I don't know.
00:09:38There's something strange about this attack.
00:09:40What do you mean?
00:09:41Look out there.
00:09:44No representatives?
00:09:45There are no dead or wounded Indians.
00:09:47In all my years of Indian fighter, I've never seen redskins pick up their wounded and dead.
00:09:52Neither have I.
00:09:53Sir?
00:09:54We're ready for move.
00:09:55Bryan.
00:09:57We'd be proud to have you accompany us to Fort Randall.
00:10:00Thanks, Lieutenant, but we haven't heard of cattle to deliver to White Cloud in their car.
00:10:04Cattle for White Cloud?
00:10:06You see the treaty calls for the government to deliver these cattle to the Indians.
00:10:09That means trouble.
00:10:11Oh, what do you mean?
00:10:12You'll have to drive them through Fort Randall.
00:10:14Folks there feel that the Sioux should be run out of this country.
00:10:17Not fed.
00:10:18Until I receive orders to the contrary, White Cloud gets these cattle.
00:10:22I'll see you in time, Lieutenant.
00:10:23No.
00:10:24Jack, let's go.
00:10:25Come on.
00:10:25There was a trap down there.
00:10:51I thought you knew what you were doing.
00:10:53I had it straight on the other wagon trains.
00:10:55You think if I knew they were dressed up like women, I'd stick my neck out?
00:10:57You're supposed to know.
00:10:58That's why I'm paying you.
00:10:59Who are those men that rode in to help the white Indians?
00:11:01I recognize one of them.
00:11:03Buffalo Bill.
00:11:04He's bringing in a treaty cattle.
00:11:06If the other gets them to white crowd, we'll never get the Indians off the land.
00:11:09You want me and the boys to stop them?
00:11:12I've got a better idea.
00:11:14Where's Running Deer?
00:11:15He left with the other Indians right after the attack.
00:11:17The good citizens won't like the idea of cattle being given to Indians who are massacring wagon trains.
00:11:22As soon as you men finish dressing, get into town and spread the news.
00:11:26I guess the lieutenant was right.
00:11:29Let's go in and see what it's all about.
00:11:31I guess the lieutenant was right.
00:11:54You folks are going to have to move aside.
00:12:11I've got a herd of cattle coming through.
00:12:13You're mistaken, Mr. Buffalo Bill.
00:12:15You're not going to deliver any cattle to those bloodthirsty Indians.
00:12:19Go back and tell the boys to stop the herd.
00:12:25I'm sorry to disagree with you, ma'am, but it's my job to see that our treaty with White Cloud is fulfilled.
00:12:30Well, then why doesn't White Cloud live up to it?
00:12:33His Indians have been attacking white men.
00:12:35Only last week, my father was wounded and barely got away with his life.
00:12:38There's no proof they were White Cloud's grave.
00:12:41My father's wounds are proof enough.
00:12:42Anybody can tell they were Sioux.
00:12:45I've never seen Sioux fight the way they did today.
00:12:48It's just not Indian style.
00:12:50Now, please clear the way.
00:12:52Those cattle have to go through.
00:12:54They'll have to go through these first.
00:13:07They're not going to look tough.
00:13:09Get in there!
00:13:10Get in there!
00:13:10Get in there!
00:13:12Get in there!
00:13:21Get in there!
00:13:35Get out of here!
00:13:38Hey, could you more tell you it ain't polite to point?
00:14:08Hold it, Blake.
00:14:11All right, everybody, disperse. Go about your business.
00:14:16You forget, Blake, this town is under martial law.
00:14:18Martial law? All you and your fancy blue legs have done is ride around and look pretty.
00:14:23That very detail for Corporal Small this morning didn't look so pretty.
00:14:27Further bloodshed won't solve any problems. We'll reach a peaceful decision.
00:14:33All right, Lieutenant, we know you've got a job to do, but if your method fails,
00:14:37we'll try ours.
00:14:40I know you've got your orders, Bill, but there's no denying the fact that you trust these redskins a lot more than I do.
00:14:45I know them a lot better than you do.
00:14:47That's true, but I can't sit idly by while attacks happen every day.
00:14:51Before you take any action, Lieutenant, let me go and see Whitecloud.
00:14:55If I find the Sioux really is causing this trouble, I'm with you all the way.
00:14:59All right, that's fair enough that the cattle stay here until you prove that the Sioux are innocent.
00:15:05All right, we'll bed the cattle down outside of town.
00:15:08You give him back my stone!
00:15:09Get out of here, kid!
00:15:10You give him back my stone!
00:15:11You give him back my stone!
00:15:12What's going on here?
00:15:17You take my yellow stones! I want them back!
00:15:22You got that stone?
00:15:23No, I threw away a long time ago.
00:15:25Hey, Captain, let me have your harmonica.
00:15:26Huh?
00:15:27Come on.
00:15:28Pin feathers.
00:15:29How would you like this?
00:15:30Hey, that's my harmonica, Bill!
00:15:31We don't like!
00:15:32What'd you expect to come out, Yankee Doodle?
00:15:33Okay, Bill, you and Captain can get cleaned up at the post.
00:15:34Thanks, Lieutenant.
00:15:35Dennis.
00:15:36Dennis.
00:15:37I have nothing further to say to you, as long as you're in that uniform.
00:15:42I can't understand you.
00:15:43When we first became engaged, you were proud of my uniform.
00:15:45That was before I learned the full meanings of the words, Army-wise.
00:15:49I don't want to sit home each time you go out and patrol and wonder whether or not you're
00:16:09coming back alive.
00:16:10I'm a soldier.
00:16:11It's my job.
00:16:12Father offered you a job as wagon master last month.
00:16:14But you had to leave me here.
00:16:15You're a soldier.
00:16:16But you had to rejoin the cavalry, just exactly like Corporal Smalls.
00:16:21Did you see his widow this morning?
00:16:23I did.
00:16:24I had to break the news to her.
00:16:26Can't you just picture somebody breaking the news to me about you?
00:16:31Goodbye, Lieutenant.
00:16:41If Buffalo Bill and that partner of his get the white cloud,
00:16:43they may learn that Yellowstone is gold.
00:16:46I don't see how.
00:16:47Even the Sioux don't know that there's gold on their land.
00:16:50They don't know now, but if that treaty's fulfilled,
00:16:52sooner or later somebody's going to find out.
00:16:55I think we'd better talk to Running, dear.
00:16:58You contact him and meet me at the hideout.
00:17:01Yeah.
00:17:02Two birds with one stone.
00:17:04And not yellow, either.
00:17:06If Buffalo Bill and Cactus are ambushed for red again,
00:17:09it proves to the people here in town that the only good Indians,
00:17:12are dead Indians.
00:17:22We're good grub.
00:17:23I'll saddle the horses while you finish eating, catcher.
00:17:26I'll help you, Bill.
00:17:31You eat a root-grateful grub.
00:17:33Well, to tell you the truth, the more I sell the meats very much,
00:17:36I never could stand my own cooking.
00:17:39But when I run on to vittles like this, I just can't stop.
00:17:42If a gal could cook like this, I'd marry her in a minute.
00:17:46I'd go get him.
00:17:47Oh, wait a minute.
00:17:48You mean to say the gal that cooked this food ain't married yet?
00:17:51No, but you want him, husband.
00:17:53Oh, she does, huh?
00:17:55Well, son, is she pretty?
00:17:57Pretty?
00:17:58You know, is she, uh, nice-looking?
00:18:00Nice-looking ishda-washta.
00:18:02What's that mean?
00:18:04Eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:06Oh, eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:09Pats and hota.
00:18:10What's Pats and hota?
00:18:12Gin like frosted honey.
00:18:14Gin like frosted honey.
00:18:16Gin's a sater.
00:18:18There you go again now.
00:18:19What does that mean?
00:18:20Lips like a...
00:18:21...crush strawberry.
00:18:23Crush strawberries?
00:18:25Why, she sounds good enough to eat.
00:18:27Why don't you go fetch her, son?
00:18:28You betcha.
00:18:41Well, we should be back in a couple of days.
00:18:42Do you want some of my troopers to go with him?
00:18:44No, I'll just take cactus with him.
00:18:46I'm sorry, Bill, but you'll have to go alone.
00:18:49What do you mean?
00:18:50I'm fixin' to marry and settle down.
00:18:52Oh, eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:55Skin like frosted honey.
00:18:58And lips that...
00:18:59You love my cooking, no?
00:19:01You're cooking?
00:19:02See.
00:19:03Pins have a thing you like marry with me.
00:19:05Oh, well, uh...
00:19:07If you said good, I'd make a good wife.
00:19:09We settle down.
00:19:10We settle down.
00:19:11I have many new chances.
00:19:13Well, I'll tell you the truth, ma'am.
00:19:14I'm just a little young to settle down.
00:19:17Hey, Bill.
00:19:18What are you waitin' for?
00:19:19Don't we have to go see White Clyde?
00:19:21He probably won't stop running till he reaches Ogallah Spring.
00:19:31Good luck, Bill.
00:19:33Maria.
00:19:34See?
00:19:35Him come back.
00:19:36You'll get to meet.
00:19:38My stomach.
00:19:39Oh, see?
00:19:40Oh, Bruno.
00:19:42Oh, no.
00:20:12Here they come.
00:20:20We were to meet again at the sign of the full moon.
00:20:22Why do you send for running deer today?
00:20:24This couldn't wait.
00:20:25All right, Steve.
00:20:26There's a herd of treaty cattle outside of Fort Randall.
00:20:29They're to be given to your people if White Clyde can prove that the Sioux haven't been attacking wagon trains.
00:20:34Who goes to White Clyde for this proof?
00:20:36Buffalo Bill.
00:20:37I know him.
00:20:39The white man who brought the promise paper to the Sioux.
00:20:43Mm-hmm.
00:20:44And if he don't reach White Clyde with that paper, it'll be worthless.
00:20:49Oh.
00:20:50That's you too.
00:20:51That's you too.
00:20:52That's you too.
00:21:04Hey, Bill.
00:21:05How about sending up some smoke signals to White Clyde to sort of let him know we're coming?
00:21:22You know, I'm not anxious for these trigger happy Indians to see us and figure we're sneaking up on them.
00:21:28All right, Jack.
00:21:29This will make you feel better.
00:21:30Well, the way I figure it is, it's sort of polite to knock before we're entering.
00:21:33Especially when you don't know how you're going to be received.
00:21:36You've got to get some brushes.
00:21:38All right.
00:22:03Let's play around.
00:22:04Let's play around.
00:22:05Let's play around.
00:22:10Let's play around.
00:22:11Let's play around.
00:22:17Let's play around.
00:22:18Let's play out.
00:22:19Let's play around.
00:22:20Let's play around.
00:22:21Let's play around.
00:22:22Let's play around.
00:22:23Let's play around.
00:22:25I sure hope all them brays know how to read this smoke talk.
00:22:34I sure hope all them braids know how to read this smoke talk.
00:22:39There it is.
00:22:40White Cod welcomes us, and knows we're coming.
00:22:43Now Bill, are you sure that's what they said?
00:22:47That's what they said, Jacket.
00:22:49I ain't had no learning, but when the smoke all clears away,
00:22:52and maybe your scalp with it,
00:22:54there ain't gonna be no right and left to prove that they said welcome.
00:23:04This game is a good one.
00:23:06That's where I am.
00:23:08But I didn't ever know about these people.
00:23:13But they're still doing this.
00:23:14That's a good one.
00:23:16I think I would ever know.
00:23:18I liked it.
00:23:20But it's a good one.
00:23:22I like that and it's a very good one.
00:23:24I think I'm afraid that's what they're talking about.
00:23:26But I know that's what you're talking about.
00:23:28I think I was really smart.
00:23:30I think I was looking at it for you.
00:23:32I knew it. I knew it all the time. You and your smoke signals, Bill. I thought that first puff was a little shaky.
00:24:02You know, good bunch of thieving polecats. Blake was right. You can't trust the farmers, Bill.
00:24:15Too narrow, all right. There aren't too many. Just a few.
00:24:22Hey, Bill, you better count again. Oh, to think I could have got married and settled down.
00:24:27Well, so long, Bill. It's been good to know you.
00:24:30I understand it. White Cloud has never broken his word before.
00:24:33Come on.
00:24:50White Cloud!
00:24:51Well, that's funny. Looks like our welcome team is leaving us, Bill.
00:25:03That's why he caught himself. Bring back the paceless ones!
00:25:10My scalp feels a lot better. Looks like you left plenty of time to settle down now, Captain.
00:25:28Yeah, sure does. What?
00:25:30What? Me settle down?
00:25:32Oh, no, Bill.
00:25:33Oh, no, Bill.
00:25:34What's up?
00:25:36I'm not fucking sorry, Bill.
00:25:37Look out.
00:25:38Yeah...
00:25:39Again, I'm sure.
00:25:40Oh, no, Bill.
00:25:41Look out.
00:25:42Wait in white clouds.
00:25:47White Cloud's reached his brothers.
00:25:49Your smoke talk welcomed us.
00:25:52Yet we were attacked by Sioux.
00:25:55The ones who attacked Sioux had lost faith with us.
00:25:59Return to the city of the Sioux in peace, my brothers.
00:26:03Leader!
00:26:22The smoke of peace is sweet, White Cloud.
00:26:32Yet the Indians have been attacking white man's wagon train.
00:26:35White Cloud gives words.
00:26:38He's brave, not paint faces, since he placed mark on farmer's paper to wear cattle.
00:26:45The people at Fort Randall do not know White Cloud.
00:26:48They have asked me to get proof that it were not to Sioux.
00:26:52White men at Fort Randall fear a shadow.
00:27:00The three before you and others like them broke my word.
00:27:05You take them to your people.
00:27:07They have broken White Cloud's word.
00:27:10Let them face White Cloud's justice.
00:27:12In the teepees of your fathers, they will be wailing for the dead tonight.
00:27:22White Cloud beats the drums of death too soon.
00:27:27Every Sioux brave has the right to speak.
00:27:35Before the mantle of death covers you, speak so all may hear.
00:27:40I am not a coyote who cries when he is trapped.
00:27:43I will not speak with my hands bound.
00:27:46Give them their hands.
00:27:56Why do my people turn their face from me?
00:27:58I am not their enemy.
00:28:00There is the enemy.
00:28:02His people have driven the buffalo away.
00:28:06And now he comes with white man's cattle to soften the belly of the Sioux and take away the stink of our hearts.
00:28:11The world of the buffalo is gone.
00:28:14We have fought the white man long enough.
00:28:17The war pass is not our answer.
00:28:20We are not squalls.
00:28:22This is the land of the Sioux.
00:28:24Our fathers and their fathers' fathers fought for it long before the white man came.
00:28:29It is better that we die on a war pass than sit here like squalls begging for food.
00:28:35We are not beggars.
00:28:37The white man came to us with promised papers and asked for peace.
00:28:41He who eats of the white man's meat becomes his dog.
00:28:48As long as breath runs in my body, I shall fight the white man.
00:28:53If there are other braves among you who wish to fight with me, I welcome you.
00:29:00If there are none, I'll fight alone.
00:29:04Your days of fighting are finished, running dear.
00:29:08Running dear, you have broken my word and you must die.
00:29:13Running dear is a warrior.
00:29:15It is not fitting that he be put to death.
00:29:18I ask that he be permitted to live.
00:29:20I will not owe my life to a white.
00:29:24I know your code, running dear.
00:29:29Fight for your life.
00:29:34Fight for your life.
00:30:34Strike!
00:30:36I will not owe my life to a white man.
00:30:52You are a brave warrior, Running Deer.
00:30:55I will not take your life.
00:31:01Strike!
00:31:03Beat the drums of death!
00:31:09Why do you inflict the wound of mourning on yourself, White Cloud?
00:31:15Running Deer, my son is dead.
00:31:21Why do you inflict the wound of mourning on yourself, White Cloud?
00:31:25Running Deer, my son is dead.
00:31:35Why do you inflict the wound of mourning on yourself, White Cloud?
00:31:39Running Deer, my son is dead.
00:31:41I am dead.
00:31:42I am dead.
00:31:43I am dead.
00:31:47I am dead.
00:31:53I am dead.
00:31:59I am dead.
00:32:01I am dead.
00:32:03Oh, my God.
00:32:33So the great peacemaker's back, scalping off.
00:32:54Keep quiet, Skokie.
00:32:56We've been waiting for you to get back.
00:32:58Did you see White Claw?
00:32:59Yes.
00:32:59I'm absolutely certain you have no hand in attacking the wagon train.
00:33:02That's interesting.
00:33:04Have you got any proof?
00:33:05Well, the fact that we're here speaks for itself.
00:33:08Then you had no trouble seeing White Claw?
00:33:10None at all.
00:33:12The Sioux are living up to their end of the treaty.
00:33:17With arrows?
00:33:19The Indian who shot that arrow is dead.
00:33:22Condemned by his own tribe for violating the treaty.
00:33:25With Roman Deer, White Claw's own son.
00:33:29I'm delivering the cattle in the morning.
00:33:30Well, it looks like we're going to have peace at last.
00:33:35I think this calls for a celebration.
00:33:38And everybody, bring your women, folks.
00:33:42Hooray!
00:33:49What are we celebrating?
00:33:51Losing that gold?
00:33:55Losing some cattle?
00:33:56Oh, Susanna, don't you stop on me.
00:34:11I'll come from all the world with my band to all my knees.
00:34:15Oh, Susanna, don't you stop on me.
00:34:26I'll come from all the world with my band to all my knees.
00:34:30Well, we're going to hear from the Broome Brothers, Ray, Lee, and Joe.
00:34:41On a very popular number, top goes the weasel.
00:34:45Joe, I go to the go, Pres Ici, Lee.
00:34:46Give your members a floor to the
00:35:43Here's the treat we've all been waiting for.
00:35:59Janet is going to sing about her bow and herself on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:08On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail,
00:36:18the sky seems brighter and my heart seems lighter on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:23Where the prayer is filled with quail and the Texas cotton tail.
00:36:28My gal's sweeter every time I meet her on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:33She sings to me as a drum my old guitar.
00:36:38And we agree that it's Lanzo, there you are, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:45There's a ranch I know for sale.
00:36:48So we're heading for a happy wedding on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:54On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:59The sky seems brighter and my heart seems lighter on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:04Where the prayer is filled with quail and the Texas cotton tail.
00:37:09My boat seems lighter and I'm supposed to be handed on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:14And we agree that it's Lanzo, there you are, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:35On the old Panhandle Trail, there's a ranch we know for sale.
00:37:48So we're heading for a happy wedding on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:53On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:58On the old Panhandle Trail.

00:38:19On the old Panhandle Kart
00:38:22Auflady sunshine
00:38:25On the old Panhandle Trail
00:38:28With the help of your troops, we should be able to move the cattle faster.
00:38:45White clouds...
00:38:46White clouds and waste.
00:38:49I think there's more pressing business...
00:38:51What did you say, Bill?
00:38:52Come on, Lieutenant.
00:38:53Walter, if some young lady like you shouldn't be sitting alone.
00:38:59Will you join me, Mr. Carty?
00:39:01Thanks, Mrs.
00:39:02How about Lieutenant Vance?
00:39:04He's available.
00:39:15It's no use, George.
00:39:17We've been all through this before.
00:39:19But, Janet, your objections are no longer valid.
00:39:22The Indians are peaceful.
00:39:23But for how long?
00:39:25Until the next outbreak?
00:39:27No, George.
00:39:28I won't marry a soldier.
00:39:31You'd make a beautiful office this way.
00:39:52Too bad about this man, Lieutenant.
00:39:53Those cattle can be anywhere.
00:39:54They've had all night to disappear.
00:39:55Well, there's no tracks to follow here, Bill.
00:39:56This clay is as hard as a rock.
00:39:57We'll have to search anyway, Cassius.
00:39:58Maybe there'll be some tracks further on.
00:39:59I'll take this body back to the force mill.
00:40:00All right, Lieutenant.
00:40:01Sergeant, help me with this body.
00:40:02All right, Lieutenant.
00:40:03Sergeant, help me with this body.

00:40:16All right, Lieutenant.
00:40:25Sergeant, help me with this body.
00:40:37The cattle can be anywhere.
00:40:39Maybe there'll be some tracks further on.
00:40:44Oh, wow!
00:40:45Yeah.
00:40:46You guys can grab it at cada applicant.
00:40:47And then, if it's called your boy.
00:40:48See you at the same time.
00:40:49You passed your ol'os.
00:40:50I'll Aristotle, której man.
00:40:51I'll take this body back to you-
00:40:57Follow you!
00:40:59Oh, you'm thinking of mine.
00:41:01Once in the larger class,
00:41:02I'll take this property.
00:41:04You see this placeinvestment.
00:41:07For me's gone.
00:41:09We'll take this house.
00:41:11We'll catch this house.
00:41:13Wait here. I'll get a telegram off to Washington to send some more cattle.
00:41:43Did you find the cattle?
00:41:55No, Trace. What's Bill thinking I'm doing?
00:41:57He's sending a telegram trying to get more cattle.
00:42:00How long do you think it'll take for him to get here?
00:42:03Oh, I don't know. It took Bill and me four weeks.
00:42:06Well, there's no telling what'll happen now.
00:42:13Wait down. Wait down! Wait down!
00:42:21Wait down, it's coming.
00:42:23Wait down, it's coming, Bull.
00:42:25Wait down!
00:42:26Leave me!
00:42:29Hey, wait down!
00:42:30Wait down, Bull.
00:42:31Wait down, is coming.
00:42:44You're eye on the crowd. Don't let anyone shoot.
00:42:56We greet you in peace, old Red Brother.
00:42:58Why does your lance split the earth in anger?
00:43:01White Clouds place his mark on promise paper of Great White's father.
00:43:06For many moons we live in peace.
00:43:09But white man left his promise on paper.
00:43:13I have come to keep the promises.
00:43:15For five moons we wait.
00:43:17Buffalo now gone.
00:43:19Grass brown.
00:43:21My people starve.
00:43:23You not speak with two tongues before.
00:43:26You come, but we not see cattle.
00:43:30They are gone, White Cloud.
00:43:32In the night they ran to the four winds.
00:43:35I have asked a thin writer to tell the Great White's father about this.
00:43:38Jews not eat words.
00:43:41How children cry.
00:43:43Braves grow lean.
00:43:45We not wait much longer.
00:43:48When third sun hides face behind mountains.
00:43:51And you not bring cattle.
00:43:54I take back my mark from promise paper.
00:43:57If this happens, White Cloud, much blood will be spilled.
00:44:01It will be blood of white man.
00:44:03My braves will ride with spirit of my son running deer.
00:44:08We will drive white man from our land.
00:44:11We will burn his houses.
00:44:13And dust will cover the white man's sign.
00:44:17You must give me time, White Cloud.
00:44:19My mother herd of cattle will be here soon.
00:44:22You must not take back your mark from the paper of promise.
00:44:25Remove the lamp, old brother.
00:44:27And let the earth show low signs.
00:44:29This is my word.
00:44:31When first star shines at end of third sun.
00:44:35And my people still hungry.
00:44:38The Sioux will ride.
00:44:40I, White Cloud, have spoken.
00:44:50I, White, I'll never take thatют.
00:44:56After shouting ichone, Cop's alive.
00:44:57For now.
00:44:58Let's now try to get back to that nouvelle,
00:45:01Robert.
00:45:03And your friends are losing.
00:45:05A woman's still being murdered.
00:45:07And their friends are losing.
00:45:08In their dead.
00:45:09And the last four weeks.
00:45:10Jane got their own really quietrina.
00:45:12I quit.
00:45:13No boy?
00:45:14Fathermore says he will jogged around theLis.
00:45:16—
00:45:17Just Sum.
00:45:18That buffalo herd we saw four days ago.
00:45:21We can get wagons from Walker.
00:45:23If we're lucky, we can bring back plenty of buffalo meat.
00:45:26Come on, Cactus.
00:45:27Get that Indian paint on you and follow them.
00:45:47Stay out of sight and let me know when they start to come back.
00:45:52Let's get the men together. We're going to play Indian again.
00:45:57I'm still hungry, Bill.
00:46:00Think I'll get some more grub.
00:46:01You've got to put some fat on me, you know.
00:46:03Maria said I was all skin and bones.
00:46:05Well, you're stressing it out, Maria, eh?
00:46:07Oh, Bill.
00:46:08Ha, ha, ha.
00:46:09Ha, ha.
00:46:10Ha, ha.
00:46:11Ha, ha.
00:46:12Ha, ha.

00:46:17Ha, ha.
00:46:18Ha, ha.
00:46:19Ha, ha.
00:46:20Ha, ha.

00:46:24Ha, ha, ha.
00:46:25Ha, ha, ha.
00:46:27Ha, ha.
00:46:28Ha, ha.
00:46:29Penny Feather.
00:46:30What are you doing here?
00:46:31Meet them grubs.
00:46:32Well, I can see that.
00:46:34She ain't here, is she?
00:46:36No.
00:46:37She's telling me to check them up on you.
00:46:39Well, the next time you see her, you tell her I already checked them down on her.
00:46:43I'm going to get some more grub.
00:46:44I'm going to get some more grub.
00:47:13Oh, my god.
00:47:14There she is.
00:47:15Hi, go.
00:47:16Whoah,az.
00:47:17There he is.
00:47:18I'm going to get someустitrise.
00:47:19Oh, my goodness.
00:47:20If the xen custodias is proud of you.
00:47:21Yes, see you.
00:47:22Me.
00:47:31Yeah.
00:47:32Um, hay.
00:47:33This is huge.
00:47:34I'm going to get some pot.
00:47:35But of you.
00:48:06I sure hope we have enough buffalo meat to satisfy a white cloud until the next herd of cattle get here.
00:48:24Where are you figuring on making camp, Bill?
00:48:26We're not stopping. We may be too late as it is. Get the horses.
00:48:29Up you go, pinfeathers.
00:48:36Take away, Joe!
00:48:45Joe, let's tell them about the buffalo.
00:49:04Hey, that fellow just appeared in a hurry. You sure that was a Sioux?
00:49:17There are the hoof prints.
00:49:23It wasn't a Sioux, Cactus. It was a white man.
00:49:26The men don't chew their horses.
00:49:31What do you suppose white men would be posing as Indians, sir?
00:49:35I don't know, Cactus.
00:49:36The Indians who attacked Lieutenant Byron's wagon train certainly didn't act like Indians.
00:49:40Let's get out of here.
00:49:41This is my word.
00:49:53When first star shines at end of third sun, and my people still hungry, the Sioux will rise.
00:50:02Tell the tribes of our nation White Cloud summons them.
00:50:09Let our brothers know White Cloud's lance has slipped the earth.
00:50:15He has taken back his mark from promised paper.
00:50:18From this time on, Sioux and white men are no longer at peace.
00:50:24Asicit fans are fined.
00:50:33As speaking in many ways of saying things love would be by the league while waiting in their hearts.
00:50:39Then that's why I see his son until he sees the house.
00:50:41Hyah!
00:50:43Hyah!
00:50:44Hyah!
00:50:45Hyah!
00:50:46Hyah!
00:50:47Hyah!
00:50:49Hyah!
00:50:50Hyah!
00:50:51Hyah!
00:50:51Hyah!
00:50:53Hyah!
00:52:55I wonder what he was doing there.
00:52:56Yeah, it was Bill.
00:52:57That's only one there on the warpath.
00:52:58The sun has gone down three times.
00:53:00White Cloud usually keeps his words.
00:53:02We better look through his pockets.
00:53:03There might be some identification.
00:53:05Give me Yellowstone.
00:53:11Same as Stokey take from me.
00:53:13Are you sure?
00:53:15Surely sure.
00:53:16Me find him in old Galala Canyon.
00:53:18Why, that's only a few miles from White Cloud's camp.
00:53:21Stokey and Blake.
00:53:23Did Stokey know where you found in Yellowstone?
00:53:25Sure.
00:53:26Me tell him.
00:53:27But he no giving back the stone.
00:53:29There's your answer for the Indian masquerade.
00:53:31Gold.
00:53:32See that this man is buried.
00:53:34Tell Simpkins to locate Lieutenant Byron in his patrol.
00:53:37I'm going to see White Cloud.
00:53:38I can't move anything.
00:53:39Cover up my mustache.
00:53:40Keep it on the face today.
00:53:41The Buffalo wagons are on their way back.
00:53:42Oh, I can't move anything.
00:53:46Cover up my mustache.
00:53:46Keep it on safe.
00:54:06The Buffalo wagons are on their way back.
00:54:09Where'd you leave them?
00:54:09Over in the Stake Plains.
00:54:10They ought to be at Rimrock Canyon in 24 hours.
00:54:13Good, we'll meet them there.
00:54:14Come on, let's hurry.
00:54:40Ladies Whitecloudon.
00:54:44The killer of Buffalo, not welcome in land of the Sioux.
00:54:47I come and peace the castle with Whitecloud.
00:54:50There is no peace.
00:54:52Your long hair will hang in my teepee.
00:54:55I am a bloodbathor to the Sioux.
00:54:58I have the right to speak.
00:55:00You cover yourself with mantle of our law.
00:55:04You shall speak as did running deer.
00:55:07You shall be punished as a Sioux, not white man.
00:55:10My heart is not afraid of Whitecloud's gesture.
00:55:13He is bitter because his people go hungry.
00:55:17From beyond those hills, I am bringing six wagons filled with buffalo meat.
00:55:21Once you said you were bringing cattle.
00:55:23We never see them.
00:55:25Evil white men stampeded the cattle because they wanted the Sioux driven from their land.
00:55:29All white men are enemies.
00:55:32No, Whitecloud.
00:55:33Only those who have learned there is much gold on your land.
00:55:36We never see it.
00:55:39The sun has gone down twice since the Sioux caught a white man and punished him with a dragging death.
00:55:44That is so.
00:55:46I put this from his body.
00:55:51The Sioux does not carve the earth for gold.
00:55:54The white man Blake wants its gold.
00:56:01His men dress his Sioux to attack the wagons.
00:56:04I have seen the tracks of one who watched us.
00:56:07If they attack and stop us from bringing you the buffalo meat,
00:56:11no man will trust Whitecloud.
00:56:14The great white father will send an army of Blue Shirts to drive the Sioux from his land forever.
00:56:19If this is so, why isn't this man punished?
00:56:22A white man law protects him until we can prove his evil.
00:56:26White man's law is nothing to the Sioux.
00:56:29Give us Blake.
00:56:30I'm sure Blake and his men will attack the wagons.
00:56:34Whitecloud and his braves can move like shadows.
00:56:37We need but few.
00:56:38Your skin's still white.
00:56:41Your wagon may be jaws of a trap.
00:56:44I have spoken.
00:56:47Lower drum of death.
00:56:49Lower drum of death.
00:57:17If I not return, let earth run red with white man's blood.
00:57:37Wait, go!
00:57:48Well, Bill, I see you filled up yourself.
00:57:51Does that mean white clouds blowing to help us?
00:57:53I don't know, Texas. We just have to keep our powder dry.
00:58:07They ought to be here by now. Make sure you get them all. I don't want any witnesses.
