00:00The key barrier that we face at the moment is we're operating through just two crossings.
00:05We need all of the crossings into the Gaza Strip to open to trucks to allow us to bring in aid at scale.
00:10And then we need better operating conditions on the ground.
00:14One of the hurdles that we face is our ability to go and collect aid from the crossings.
00:19They're not a drive-through. We can't just go whenever we want.
00:22We have to seek permission from the Israeli authorities to access those crossings,
00:26to collect the aid and then take the aid to the families that need it.
00:30And often those trips, which are just a few kilometres, can take up to 20 hours
00:34because of impediments and delays that are put in front of us.
00:38So we need better operating conditions on the ground to make a difference.
00:41And that has to happen soon because the more that our efforts are thwarted,
00:45the more we will see children suffer.
00:48A ceasefire is the best way for us, one, to ensure that our operations can be enabled,
00:53and two, to protect children from being killed and injured.
00:56The bombardments continue here in the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring children every day.
01:01And as you said, children have been killed and injured while seeking access to aid,
01:06including a few weeks ago at a UNICEF-supported nutrition site where children were waiting for supplies.
01:12Nine children were killed.
01:14And that has to be completely unacceptable to the world.
01:17So as is a possible offensive in Gaza City, in a place where, of course,
01:24we know that famine has now been classified,
01:27that has the highest levels of malnutrition among children in the Gaza Strip.
