00:00It's not the easy thing to do to be the first one to do something.
00:15I had no idea flag football was a thing.
00:19I had never seen an opportunity for girls to play football.
00:22They've always dreamed of playing but never could because there's no equivalent.
00:30I enjoyed the challenge or the experience of building the program.
00:39From the beginning, I only ever saw it as just football.
00:43I kind of thought it was going to be like a two to three day a week thing.
00:47I didn't really think we were going to be that competitive.
00:51And then we had the scrimmage.
00:55I honestly felt defeated.
00:57We're not going to win a game, are we?
01:01All my friends who weren't playing were kind of like, oh, it's a little weird.
01:05So I was kind of going along with it saying, yeah, sure, it was a joke.
01:07I'm not taking this serious. I'll be doing cartwheels at practice.
01:10Like, I don't care. This isn't my sport.
01:13It's much easier to not care about something so that if you lose, it doesn't matter because you didn't care.
01:18It's much harder to put your heart on the field.
01:22Learning how to play flag for fall to patience.
01:27Just a lot of dedication and belief in yourself.
01:33That was our last chance to win an LIC and a county champ.
01:37It speaks volumes about where this country is headed and inclusively.
01:48It was so much bigger than just the team and just like our personal needs to win.
01:53You're interested to win.
01:54You're interested to win.
01:59And you're interested to win.
