00:00Hello, my name is Emel Geletti and I'm the writer and the director of Where the Wind Comes From,

00:12which premiered at 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

00:15This film tells the story of the deep friendship between Elisa, 19, and Mehdi, 23,

00:20played by two talented actors, Eya Bellera and Slim Bakar.

00:25Elisa and Mehdi have been best friends since childhood.

00:28Having grown up together in the same building and to escape the monotony of their daily lives,

00:33they turn to their imaginations.

00:35Mehdi spends his days drawing and creating fantastical stories,

00:39which inspire Elisa and encourage her to reimagine her own reality.

00:44Without any specific edit or calibration changes, Elisa's imagination seamlessly become part of the narrative.

00:53But I don't want to give away too much.

00:55This road trip followed their journey across Tunisia after they found out about a drawing contest on the island of Jerba.

01:01This is how they start their crazy adventure.

01:04From north to south, an adventure full of laughter, tears, doubts, moments of self-discovery and transformative experiences.

01:17I wrote this movie to talk about the struggles faced by Tunisian youth,

01:21but I didn't want to write a dark social drama.

01:24On the opposite, I wanted to tell the story of this youth using their tone, humor and energy.

01:30It was important for me to craft a comedy that tackes serious topics.

01:35A universal story where any young person can recognize themselves.
