00:00First of all, I would say that we are truly behind in our education system compared to more developed countries around the world.

00:15And that is true. That is an observation. That is a fact of the Philippines.

00:23And I have all the rights to say, what is the truth of our country that is covered by the freedom of speech and expression.

00:40So, it may be, it may be hard.

00:44Because that is the truth of our country.

00:48Saan ba tayo magsisimula, mag-isip ng mga solusyon kung hindi natin tagapin na merong problema yung bayan?

00:56Pangalawa, hindi ko maintindihan saan nanggagaling yung total failure ako as a Department of Education Secretary.

01:09Kasi, iba yung actions ni BBM noong ako ay nag-tender ng resignation.

01:19Kung maalala ninyo, that was June 19, 2024. It was a Wednesday.

01:26So, matagal ko na pinag-isipan yung pag-re-resign.

01:30Inisip ko na kapag mag-resign ako,

01:34habang na sa administration ako, ina-atake ako.

01:38Pag nag-resign ako, dodoble yung atake sa akin.

01:41Pusibleng mag-file ng impeachment case sa akin dahil September 2023 pa lang pinag-uusapan na yun.

01:49So, matagal ko na hawak-hawak yung resignation letter na yun.

01:54Matagal ako pabalik-balik sa Malacanang.

01:57Pero, hindi ko talaga pa naibigay.

02:00Pero, nung June 19, 2024, doon ko na isip na yun ang pinakatamang panahon

02:09na ibigay ko na yung irrevocable resignation ko.

02:14Kasi, merong meeting sa Malacanang about opening of classes

02:24na hindi naman dapat na umaabot sa level ng Pangulo

02:27pero, meeting ko nung para sa kung kailan magbubukas ang klase.

02:32So, after nung meeting, mag-request ako kay President Marcos

02:42if I can have a few minutes of his time, meron lang akong ibigay sa kanya na sulat.

02:48Sinabi ko na sa kanya, may dala ako na letter, ibibigay ko sa'yo.

02:54Tapos, binigay ko sa kanya.

02:56And then, nung pinasa na niya, ang sabi niya,

03:00why, why?

03:02Tanong siya sa akin, bakit, bakit?

03:05Tapos, sinabi ko sa kanya, ayaw ko na pag-usapan kung bakit ako mag-reside.

03:12Para sa akin ba, kailangan pa ba itanong yun?

03:17Hindi mo ba nakikita kung ano yung ginagawa ninyo sa akin?

03:22Parang, hindi naman ako masopista na aatakihin ninyo ako

03:29ng aatakihin habang nagtatrabaho ako para sa inyo.

03:46Sabi ko, ayaw ko pag-usapan.

04:17pwede ka bang tumulong sa midterm elections

04:22para sa mga senators?

04:25Tapos, sabi niya,

04:26kasi diba, yung pugpong ng pagbabago,

04:30kasali naman yun sa UNITIM noon.

04:33Sabi ko, pag-iisipan ko,

04:37pero wala pa akong plano

04:39para sa 2025 midterm elections ng senators.

04:45So, clearly, lahat nung attempts niya

04:50to make me reconsider my resignations.

04:56Na sinabi niya,

04:58mag-stay lang ako as department secretary or dep-ed.

05:02Na sinabi niya, gusto ko bang lumipat sa ibang posisyon?

05:07Sabihin ko daw sa kanya,

05:08na sinabi niya, pwede ba ako tumulong sa midterm elections ng 2025?

05:17So, ay hindi yun actions ng taong tumitingin as failure ako.

05:27Action yun ng taong tumitingin na kailangan niya yung trabaho ko.

05:32So, hindi ko alam saan nagagaling yung sinasabi nilang

05:40failure ako as a department of education secretary.
