00:00My name is Odette Sansom, Agent S-23 of the British Special Operative Executive, French Division.
00:07I found Odette Hallows at a time when I was searching for a way to heal part of my own family tree.
00:14I'd come to some knowledge that part of my family history involved working with the Nazis in Germany,
00:19a family I was not connected to that my mother ran away from when I was very young.
00:24However, it still exists that there's this place in my tree that I wanted to heal.
00:28And Odette Hallows' story was on Museum Secrets.
00:32And I looked at her dolls and she talked about escaping to the green.
00:35And she talked about a little green leaf being her hope.
00:39And that being in Ravensbrück Concentration Camp and being in the most torturous, awful situations,
00:45she could hold on to hope by way of this little green leaf.
00:48You, you are a miracle.
00:51That gave her the strength that she needed to come forward through the torture in the dark.
00:57And she came out with hope.
00:58Odette Hallows was just an ordinary woman who, by accident, sent her photographs to the wrong office
01:05and was called in where she was asked to become a special operative executive.
01:10I think the biggest message that I want people to walk out of the theatres and experiences of seeing a little green leaf to be
01:17is that even an ordinary person who thinks they can't make a difference in the world can.
01:24But you've got to dismiss all that and say, well, they are sick.
01:27I don't have to be sick.
01:29I don't have to be bitter because bitterness creates such terrible misery.
01:33And I hope that Odette's story inspires people to do something in the face of the realities we're facing now in the world.
01:43Why is it I am to survive if I survive changed and bitter?
01:48So, what then was it all for?
01:52There's inspiration, there's hope, there's story, there's history.
01:56Odette Hallows went on to become a well-decorated woman.
02:01And she spoke for the rest of her life of her comrades at war.
02:04The women who never made it home.
02:06She never let them be forgotten.
02:08This play is as much for them as it is for Odette.
02:11And I hope that you join us at littlegreenleaf.com.
02:14And we're so excited to be bringing this show to you.
