00:00After eight years of planning, a church in Sweden began a slow-motion five-kilometre
00:05journey to make way for the expansion of Europe's largest underground mine.
00:11The Karuna Church, a Lutheran church, will roll to its new home over two days at the
00:16pace of just half a kilometre per hour.
00:19It's being moved as a nearby mine is expanding deeper underground, causing residents to see
00:24cracks in the buildings and roads.
00:28Officials have moved numerous buildings to a new downtown at a safe distance from the
00:33mine.
00:36Thousands of visitors descended on Karuna to watch the spectacle, which included an early
00:41morning blessing and a performance from Sweden's 2025 Eurovision entry.
