00:00On today's Saturday news, where is Hangman Adam Page?
00:03The WWE TNA Forbidden Door is opened again.
00:06WWE have been discussing the revival of an old pay-per-view for this fall.
00:10And Drew McIntyre goes indie.
00:13Are you ready? Are you ready for the news time?
00:15My name is Phil Chambers and I'm joined by Gareth Morgan and Salty Seadog as well
00:20to talk all things wrestling news, but what have we got up first?
00:22First up, where the hell is Hangman Adam Page?
00:24He has been, he's been missing, hasn't he?
00:26He's not been on AEW television, I believe, since like Revolution
00:29when he was scrapping with referees and all the rest of it in that three-way match.
00:34So he was suspended, he was suspended indefinitely from the Elite
00:38and that was a full part of the storyline.
00:40Then Kenny Omega was just fired from it outright and then we had all the Elite changes.
00:45But that was like the Hangman section of that story.
00:47It was like, okay, he's been suspended, what's going on with Hangman?
00:50Well, we have an update from Fightful Select.
00:52They've said that Hangman Page is expected to be back in the company
00:55within the next month, so likely by early July.
00:58Woo-hoo!
00:59Love some Hangman, get some the summer of Page, baby!
01:02He's not been out of action due to injury or anything like that,
01:05so just ease your mind straight away, he's okay.
01:08But he's been out for personal reasons and he had that time off to tend to them
01:12and that was always meant to happen, that he was always meant to be absent
01:15for the current amount of time that he has been absent.
01:17This was all planned, he was meant to be out for these amount of weeks and months, whatever it is.
01:22Fightful have also been told they've not heard of any creative plans,
01:28but it's been reported that Page is likely to continue as a heel character when he comes back,
01:33which is quite interesting.
01:34He was a bit more of a greyish heel anyway, but yeah,
01:37he'll probably still be in that mould when he does return.
01:40It's quite interesting that they say in early July, though,
01:43because when it comes to that period in AEW,
01:45the Elite obviously announced during this week's Dynamite that we're going to have blood and guts,
01:49and that's going to be on July 24th.
01:52So if Hangman is coming back like early July, July 24th,
01:56they've got a villain, they could bring it back,
01:58or they might even bring it back into the Elite.
02:00Imagine that, like he could be their fifth member,
02:03because it is a five on five usually.
02:04You never know, it could happen.
02:06But I think the key takeaway right now is that, yeah,
02:09Hangman Page was injured or anything like that,
02:11he was just away for personal reasons, he's going to be back in July.
02:13My Dave Meltzer, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter,
02:16previously reported that Page would be absent due to a family matter,
02:20but noted that the situation was a negative,
02:22and simply something Page needed to take care of.
02:24And we should just normalise this, really.
02:26If people just need to go and take care of stuff in their lives,
02:29and just need a couple of weeks, a couple of months,
02:31go and do it, man.
02:33It's more important.
02:34Wrestling's wrestling.
02:35At the end of the day, it's always going to be here.
02:37We're always going to love some Hangman Page,
02:39so just go off, do what you need to do,
02:40hope everything's fine, back home,
02:42and I can't wait to see the handlebar moustache man return.
02:48Absolutely, yeah.
02:49Like, there was a note in the Fightful Select thing
02:51saying it was, like, contractually obligated time off,
02:54so it's like whether, like, I assume he'd already mentioned to Tony
02:58that either he needs, like, this block of time off,
03:00or they've got it written into his contract,
03:02or they just extend his contract a bit and give him the time off.
03:04However that works, we're not entirely sure.
03:06It makes sense to, yeah, more people should do this,
03:09take a little bit of time off.
03:09I think if more people did this,
03:11then more people would be a bit fresher on TV.
03:14There'd be, like, more spaces for people,
03:16especially in AEW when it's quite a crowded roster.
03:19And it's not like Hangman Page is going to lose his spot
03:21when he comes back.
03:22He's Hangman Blade.
03:23So, yeah, it'll be good to have Hangman Page back on TV.
03:26He's definitely been missed.
03:28And let us know down in the comments below
03:29where you think he's going to end up in the storylines
03:32when he does come back.
03:33But moving over, WWE and TNA and that forbidden door
03:37that is blasted wide open over there at the minute.
03:40We have WWE, guys, going the other way to TNA now.
03:44Obviously, Jordyn Grace came up to, like, NXT and Battleground
03:47and was fighting Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship.
03:51But during all of that, they were kind of teasing that
03:54Tate and Paxley wanted the knockouts belt from Jordyn Grace.
03:58And that match has happened at TNA against All Odds.
04:02Jordyn Grace held an open challenge.
04:04And Tate and Paxley came out to answer that challenge
04:07and then lost, obviously.
04:10So, it is happening.
04:12The WWE guys are going the other direction.
04:14We've kind of been waiting to see who is going to be the first
04:17of this kind of new crop of relationship kind of thing
04:20to see who goes the other way
04:21because that's kind of more intriguing as to who comes from TNA.
04:25You can kind of guess the stars that WWE want from TNA.
04:27But who's going to go the other way is far more intriguing.
04:31And it does look like it will be happening
04:32and hopefully happens more often
04:33because you've got to have a bit of tit-for-tat in these relationships.
04:36Yeah, I like to see it.
04:38I think AJ Styles was somewhat hinting
04:40that he'd be interested in going, wasn't he?
04:43I think it was in the press conference.
04:44I saw a lot of stuff, a lot of buzz about that on X, Twitter, whatever it is.
04:48So, it makes a lot of sense.
04:49It'd be great for TNA, obviously,
04:51to get some of the bigger names from WWE to jump over.
04:53And even just the, like, not just the NXT names,
04:56but even some of the names from NXT like this is a cool thing.
04:59Gets them a bit more experience as well.
05:01These stars that are only, like, I don't know,
05:04cutting their teeth and learning the ropes
05:06in the performance center, that kind of environment,
05:09it's very different than going inside of, like, an arena,
05:13like, wherever it is, like, the different locations that TNA go to
05:15and just be in front of a different crowd.
05:17It's just good.
05:18I think you really need to...
05:19This needs to happen more often.
05:20They need to let people just go and explore,
05:21go and do tours, things like that.
05:23And just...
05:24It fleshes out character,
05:26and it just adds experience, really.
05:29And that, I think, that's...
05:30Absolutely, yeah.
05:30It's like the New Japan Young Lion kind of way of doing things.
05:33They teach everyone in New Japan,
05:34but then they're like, go away.
05:36Go somewhere else.
05:37Go to TNA.
05:38Go to AAA.
05:39Go, like, somewhere else
05:41to go and kind of learn how to do this
05:43in front of different audiences,
05:45because you kind of...
05:45Especially in the performance center,
05:46like, that's going to be roughly the same...
05:49Cliché of a dog.
05:57Yeah.
05:58Student postman.
05:59What can I say?
06:00What was I saying?
06:01Something about TNA.
06:02Yeah, it's great.
06:02They go the other way.
06:03Gary on.
06:03Yeah, very good.
06:04TNA, yeah.
06:06They should go more,
06:08because it'd just be good
06:08for a lot of wrestlers to go there,
06:10learn a bit more.
06:11Like, yeah, I think it's a great thing for all sides.
06:14So, more of this, please.
06:15And speaking of things that we want more of,
06:17we want more old pay-per-views coming back,
06:18because nostalgia, really.
06:21I just like seeing old pay-per-views
06:22being, like, reignited.
06:25Yeah, and, like, rejuvenated.
06:27And it looks like the next one
06:28could be Bad Blood.
06:30Yeah, it's been a while since I've had a Bad Blood.
06:32I know that.
06:32It's been a while.
06:33Been a while.
06:35So, PW Insider have reported this.
06:37They said that there have been some creative pitches
06:39to bring back the old pay-per-view name.
06:41And this isn't just like,
06:43oh, that's nostalgia, throw it.
06:45Like, there's a little bit of a plan
06:47or a quite interesting idea behind all this,
06:50because they want to use this
06:52for, like, an October period pay-per-view
06:55to celebrate the anniversary
06:56of the first ever Hell in a Cell match,
06:59because, obviously, that was
06:59at a Bad Blood pay-per-view.
07:01That was the Undertaker versus Shawn Michaels.
07:02It was October 5th, 1997.
07:05So, the plan is to try and get a Hell in a Cell match
07:08on that card as well,
07:10just as a bit of a turn,
07:11like, tip the old, like, big Undertaker hat,
07:13whatever it is,
07:14and they'll just run loads of, like, packages
07:16while then they'll make it a big song and dance.
07:19There'll be a documentary.
07:20Yeah, you can just see,
07:20you can already see it.
07:21You can already see what they're probably
07:22going to do with everything.
07:23Interestingly, though,
07:24like, they've not really specified a date
07:26where this could potentially happen,
07:28but October 5th this year is also a Saturday.
07:31So, they could actually do
07:34the anniversary bang on the day,
07:35which would be,
07:36it's just a cool little thing, isn't it?
07:37Like, a cool little way of doing stuff.
07:39So, yeah, not much more to add to this.
07:42It just seems like they want to do
07:43a nice, cool, nostalgic thing,
07:45and it's very much in the vein
07:46of what Triple H has done so far, isn't it?
07:48We've had, like, a King of the Ring
07:49and Queen of the Ring pay-per-view thing,
07:51and he's brushed off a few things from the past
07:53because he just knows that fans like nostalgia.
07:56So, I like it.
07:57I dig it.
07:58I'm into it.
07:59Yeah, me too.
08:00Why the hell not?
08:00And if you can tie it in the exact date,
08:03it makes sense.
08:04Just go ahead and do it.
08:06Bigger question is,
08:07who's going to be in the Hell in a Cell match?
08:08And let us know down in the comments
08:10who you would want to see.
08:12The Undertaker come out of retirement
08:14and wrestle bald Shawn Michaels.
08:17Yeah.
08:18Yeah.
08:19Anything but that.
08:20And finally, on the news today,
08:22Drew McIntyre is opening his own forbidden door
08:25and heading off to the Indies,
08:26at least for one night
08:28because he went to ICW.
08:29They had a show after SmackDown.
08:32ICW after hours,
08:33and he appeared by surprise
08:35in the ICW show.
08:37Obviously, he's had a long and storied history
08:39with ICW,
08:40who was their first champion.
08:42And then when he kind of left WWE,
08:45ICW was one of the big places he went to
08:47on the Indies
08:47to kind of reinvent himself.
08:51But he appeared at ICW.
08:52He came out.
08:53He teased having a fight with Jack Jester,
08:55who is their current champion.
08:57But then they just kind of embraced
08:58and had a big hug.
08:59And then he cut a promo
09:00about sort of what ICW meant to him
09:02and sort of thanking the fans
09:03for support and things like that.
09:05It was just a nice little moment.
09:07And sort of more of this as well.
09:09When we're talking about
09:09more things happening in wrestling,
09:11more of this sort of thing
09:12because it's just lovely.
09:13Yeah, just nice stuff.
09:15He loves to see it.
09:16Drew seems to be having a time
09:17of his life right now
09:18with everything that's going on.
09:19I think he's got,
09:20well, he has got the biggest night
09:22of his life tonight.
09:24It's an incredible night for him.
09:25So it's just nice seeing him
09:26do this kind of stuff.
09:27I really hope a certain punker
09:30doesn't come along
09:30and ruin everything.
09:32Now, now there's been,
09:33I think there's been,
09:33has there been like rumblings
09:34that punks ended up in Scotland?
09:37Is he there?
09:37I think I've heard some stuff.
09:39Maybe.
09:40I don't know if I'm just,
09:40I've just fabricated that myself.
09:43But yeah,
09:44I'm excited to see
09:46what's going to go down
09:47this weekend for Drew.
09:48I think it's a cool way
09:48just to drop a bit of excitement as well.
09:50And Smackdown last night
09:51was also pretty cool.
09:53That arena looks awesome.
09:55Like, I'm hyped up.
09:56I'm ready.
09:56I'm ready for more wrestling.
09:57It's like,
09:58we literally go like a week
09:59without a big pay-per-view
10:00and there's another one.
10:01It's madness right now.
10:02Absolutely.
10:03But ups and downs
10:03for that Smackdown
10:04that you were talking about
10:05is coming up soon
10:06on the channel.
10:07So look out for that.
10:07And ups and downs
10:08for Clash at the Castle
10:09will be up tomorrow
10:10to look up for that as well.
10:12But in the meantime,
10:13click this video.
