With whispers of a potential U.S.-Russia-Ukraine trilateral framework emerging, questions swirl over whether Trump is reshaping the war’s diplomacy or sidelining Kyiv in the name of a bigger geopolitical gamble. 00:00He's expecting my call when we're finished with this meeting.
00:04Fighting continues, and if we do, we have a good chance.
00:07I think if we have a tri-lat, there's a good chance of maybe ending it.
00:10I was just telling the president, I just spoke to President Putin indirectly,
00:15and we're going to have a phone call right after these meetings today.
00:17We just spoke to, I was just telling the president, I just spoke to President Putin indirectly,
00:23and we're going to have a phone call right after these meetings today.
00:26And we may or may not have a tri-lat.
00:29If we don't have a tri-lat, then the fighting continues.
00:33And if we do, we have a good chance.
00:34I think if we have a tri-lat, there's a good chance of maybe ending it.
00:37But he's expecting my call when we're finished with this meeting.
00:42But we're going to work with Ukraine.
00:44We're going to work with everybody, and we're going to make sure that if there's peace,
00:49the peace is going to stay long term.
00:50This is very long term.
00:51We're not talking about a two-year peace, and then we end up in this mess again.
00:55We're going to make sure that everything's good.
00:58We'll work with Russia.
00:59We're going to work with Ukraine.
01:00We're going to make sure it works.
01:01And I think if we can get to peace, it's going to work.
01:04I have no doubt about it.
01:05I don't think you need a ceasefire.
01:07You know, if you look at the six deals that I settled this year, they were all at war.
01:11I didn't do any ceasefires.
01:12And I know that it might be good to have, but I can also understand strategically why, well,
01:20you know, one country or the other wouldn't want it.
01:22You have a ceasefire, and they rebuild and rebuild and rebuild, and, you know, maybe they
01:27don't want that.
01:27But if you look at the six deals that we made peace, and, you know, long term, long running
01:33wars, I didn't do any ceasefires.
01:36Would I like?
01:37I like the concept.
01:39You know, I like the concept of a ceasefire for one reason, because you'd stop killing
01:43people immediately, as opposed to in two weeks or one week or whatever it takes.
01:47But we can work a deal where we're working on a peace deal while they're fighting.
01:51They have to fight.
01:52I wish they could stop.
01:53I'd like them to stop.
01:54But strategically, that could be a disadvantage for one side or the other.
01:59But all of these deals I made without even the mention of the words.
