00:00UDO is now 25 years old, alright, so the World Championships, we actually celebrate our 20th anniversary.
00:07If we think back to our very first one here in Blackpool, I think we had just the Emperor's Ballroom
00:14and we probably had 500 people, you know, maybe from about five or six different countries.
00:20Now, you look at it today where there'll be somewhere in the region of 10,000 people here, 5,000 to 6,000 dancers.
00:27We try to really make it an experience, so yes, there is competition and that's what you're here for,
00:33but we also offer workshops, we offer Q&As, they get to meet the judges and ask questions, there's judges training here.
00:41Yeah, there's an awful lot going on while these kids are here still competing.
00:46And in street dance you have numerous different styles of dance, but yeah, it's definitely the longevity of the dance style is here now,
00:56it's been here for the last 40 years and it'll always be here.
00:59What judges are looking for is that dancer that pushes those boundaries, that uses, still using the foundations,
01:06but listening to music, using their musicality to make them stand out.
01:12They're looking at the energy, they're looking at creativity, so yeah, it's a combination of all those really,
01:19that will make a dancer stand out.
