00:23in a room with people and you're all batting around an idea or a gag and everyone keeps
00:26passing it around you know oh this could be funny oh but what if it happens this way oh that's funny
00:30oh and then what if this oh that's funny and then someone says and what about this and everyone in
00:35the room goes like and and that to me is the edge it's like you went as far as you could but now you
00:42went over the cliff and it's not funny anymore it's either too far it's one too many things something
00:47just doesn't work about it anymore but you what you want to do is you want to go right up to the edge
00:51so sometimes you have to go over to know where it is what's sort of like the most potent version of
00:57that joke or that gag and that helps if you have a group of people that you're sort of collaborating
01:01with or you work with that have similar sensibilities uh and a similar uh you know a similar sense of
01:06humor that you do or just tonally kind of know what you're going for in your project because the edge
01:11is probably different on a disney movie than it is on an illumination movie
01:14but but yeah push it and and you'll know when you get that one like too far
