00:13gender equality in india you know it's not just a buzzword it's about giving everyone a fair chance
00:18sonia ji what do you think is the first step towards achieving true equality that's a great
00:24question deepak for me the first step is always awareness understanding where we stand and why
00:29equality is beneficial for everyone not just one gender it's about recognizing the incredible
00:34potential that gets unlocked when everyone has equal opportunities absolutely when we talk about
00:40gender equality it's not just about women's rights it's about societal progress matlab for the whole
00:44country look at the strides indian women are making in so many fields from sports to science politics
00:51to entrepreneurship people like indra nohi maricom they are inspirations yes deepak our history is
00:57full of strong women like rani laxmibai indra gandhi they were trailblazers now we see women
01:03excelling in every sector but the journey isn't over yet we still have a long way to go to ensure
01:09every girl every woman has access to the same opportunities as men education plays a huge role
01:14here doesn't it when a girl is educated it empowers not just her but her entire family and community
01:21100% deepak education is the bedrock an educated woman is aware of her rights can make informed
01:27choices and contribute economically it breaks cycles of poverty and stereotypes i recently met a young
01:34girl ria from a small village in rajasthan she's pursuing engineering something her grandmother could
01:40only dream of that's the power of education that's a fantastic example sonia ji it's about creating an
01:46environment where a girl's potential isn't limited by her gender or background what about the workplace
01:50deepak we still see gender pay gaps and fewer women in leadership roles how do we fix that it's a
01:56complex issue sonia ji part of it is about changing mindsets and biases companies need to actively promote
02:02equal pay for equal work and create flexible supportive environments for women it's also about challenging
02:08unconscious biases during hiring and promotions we've heard stories about how sometimes a deserving female
02:16candidate might be overlooked simply because of old ways of thinking yes and also sharing household
02:21and caregiving responsibilities equally when men participate more in the home it frees up women
02:26to pursue their careers more fully it's a collective responsibility not just a woman's burden so
02:30ultimately gender equality is about creating a society where everyone regardless of gender can thrive
02:36and contribute their best exactly deepak it's about mutual respect and recognizing each other's strengths
02:42when we achieve true equality our society as a whole becomes stronger more prosperous and more inclusive
