00:00Giants turn to a guy who's going to go into the Hall of Fame one day, Russell Wilson at quarterback, a 10-time Pro Bowler.
00:07What is he bringing to this team?
00:08Well, Russell brings that moon ball that he throws, but he also has a gravitational pull in the locker room, and that gravitational pull is leadership.
00:17He has galvanized this team, and they've, you know, he's chronically positive, Bob, and they all believe in themselves.
00:25Russell Wilson certainly has been that and everything else, plus helping the young quarterback in Jackson's dart.
00:29What about on the defensive side of the ball, Carl, because the Giants have added a lot of pieces, including Abdul Carter.
00:36Well, you know, everyone's talking about how they're going to be able to rush the passer, and they're going to be super dangerous.
00:41They have a lot of talent, and they should be, but the terms are non-negotiable.
00:46They got to stop the run first.
00:48And the Giants were not good as far as stopping the run last year.
00:52You can't get to the pass rush if you don't stop the run.

01:02Bob, after two and a half weeks of practice, the Giants get their first test.
01:06And, Brian D'Abel, you've decided to play your starters.
01:09Why?
01:10Yeah, I think that's what our team needs.
01:12So anybody that's available to play, other than if they're injury concerned, they'll be out there playing.
01:17After Russell Wilson, we'll get our first look at rookie Jackson Dart.
01:21What can we expect?
01:23Yeah, this is his first game, so it'll be good in terms of him getting out there, handling the procedure, play calls, playing on the road, using different cadences,
01:31kind of the procedural things before even the play, and look for him to go out there and do a good job.
01:36Is he pumped up, by the way?
01:38Yeah, he's absolutely pumped up, yeah.
01:39Is today about execution or about effort?
01:43Yeah, I'd say it's really about everything.
01:45It's kind of our first chance to go out there and play a game against people in a different color.
01:51You know, we want to make sure that we do all the basic things right right now.
01:54It's not, I'm not focused on the results.
01:56I'm focused on the things that we've talked about throughout camp, our discipline, our ability to stay focused when things don't go right, our effort and our finish.

06:58Yeah, Wondell Robinson normally doesn't run a lot of verticals, but he's now, Russell Wilson likes him going vertical.
07:06And you can see that was just on a vertical comeback.
07:08Montrell Washington, number 80, is in the ballgame for the Giants.
07:12He has really shown out so far during practices.
07:15And they're going to give it to him on an end of round.
07:18Washington gets the corner and then gets tripped up at about the 37-yard line.
07:23Washington in his third year out of Sanford, originally a fifth-round pick held at Denver Broncos, spent last year on the Chiefs practice squad.

08:49And he's trying to create unplanned-forced situations
08:53and how the staff is going to deal with it.

09:04And one of those things, Mike Kafka, who has been up in the booth,
09:08is down on the sideline today calling the plays.
09:12Yeah, I mean, he's taking more control of the play calling
09:15with collaboration with Coach Dable,
09:18but it is his offense now that he's calling,
09:21and he's got to make all the adjustments
09:22as the game goes on.
09:26And this is just what Brian Dable was hoping for,

09:54Last year, Bellinger had just 14 catches

10:40is his zero tolerance for those type of penalties,

10:48When you're trying to turn your team around,
10:51it's the little things that really make the difference
10:54in terms of getting your organization pointed in the right direction.

49:39it's preseason but we've seen
49:41preseason that didn't look like
49:42this last year.
