00:00The City of Brass. In the late 7th century, early 8th century, the ruler of the Muslim world heard tales of a legendary city deep in the desert, a city of brass so magnificent that its name echoed through time.
00:16Intrigued, he sent an expedition to find it, led by Musa ibn Nusea, governor of North Africa.
00:25The journey took many days through harsh deserts, past mirages and scorching heat.
00:31They encountered a petrified giant who was once a king, cursed for his arrogance and tablets and inscriptions, warning of the fate of those who challenge God's will.
00:43As they pushed on, they came across abandoned palaces with more treasure and skeletons, a reminder that even in death, the past is never truly gone.
00:55Finally, they reached the City of Brass, deserted and sealed by magnificent brass gates.
01:02On the walls were inscriptions telling the story of Queen Tadma, who once ruled over this land with vast power and wealth.
01:10But she defied the Creator and her people were destroyed, leaving the city as a warning to future generations.
01:19Inside, they found rooms filled with gold, silver and jewels, as well as the mummified bodies of the Queen and her court.
01:28Seated as if still ruling, their faces preserved, yet lifeless, the explorers took some of the treasures back with them.
01:36But the story isn't one of triumph.
01:39It's a reminder that no matter how rich or powerful you are, death and the judgment of God are inevitable.
