The Gallopin’ Gaucho (August 2, 1928) is the second Mickey Mouse cartoon ever produced, created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Originally a silent film, it was later reissued with synchronized sound in 1929. In this short, Mickey plays a daring gaucho (South American cowboy) who rides an ostrich, enjoys a drink, and must rescue Minnie Mouse from the villain Pete in a lively sword fight.
This rare piece of animation history is part of the public domain and preserved for fans of early Disney cartoons.
