Chad Michael Murray says his smooch with Lindsay Lohan in 2003's Freaky Friday was important not just for their characters, but for the actress herself — since it was her first-ever onscreen kiss. "I remember Lindsay and I were kids. I mean Lindsay was probably 16, I think. That was her first onscreen kiss," Murray, 43, tells PEOPLE. "That was a whole thing. That was super nerve-racking."

00:00I mean, I just remember just hoping I didn't screw it up, you know, I remember her being so
00:07supportive and loving Jamie, and I remember her being playful and bright. Lindsay and I were
00:15kids. I mean, Lindsay was probably 16, I think. I was her first on-screen kiss. That was a whole
00:20thing. That was super nerve-wracking. Jamie helped us through all that. I remember just trying to
00:26to hang on and hope that no one figured out I wasn't very good at this, and then just being a
00:31part of it, and then here you are today, and now you can see everybody so much more comfortable
00:36in their craft and just letting loose. Lindsay's so good in this movie. She's so good in this movie.
00:42Jamie is so good in this movie. The physical comedy that they both bring to this picture is insane,
00:47and I get to stand right there and watch it all. I mean, it was like an eight-minute take of her
00:53just sitting here and trying different things to see what was going to play, and me just completely
00:58and utterly reacting to the insanity. I know what this is. You're having a stroke. No, no, I just need
01:03to go to the bathroom. I did crack once. She got me, and I'm not easy to crack. I'm not an easy
01:09nut to crack there. I like to hone it in, but yes, she got me.
