Une étudiante en astronomie et son professeur font la découverte effrayante qu'une énorme comète est en route vers la Terre et menace de la détruire. Le problème, c'est que personne ne les croit. Réalisant que la présidente du pays est complètement indifférente sur cette question, ils décident de publier la nouvelle dans les médias. Malheureusement, rien ne va mieux là-bas et ils se rendent compte que l'humanité, obsédée par les réseaux sociaux, est trop paresseux pour simplement lever les yeux vers le ciel.
