00:04Our studio is a mess. There's always garbage on the tables, on the floor.
00:08At first, I thought the problem was simply not enough trash cans, so I bought more.
00:12But for some reason, people still didn't bother.
00:16Then I had a thought, what if the trash bin catches trash mid-air that empties itself
00:20automatically? Wouldn't that solve everything?
00:22We added three big motors and wheels under the bin so we can move quickly.
00:27Nice move.
00:28Then we put a camera on the bin and trained a model to identify common types of trash.
00:32When I see the trained object flying through the air, it sprints to intercept.
00:36After many rounds of fine-tuning by our engineers, it finally cut its first piece of trash.
00:41Oh, calm.
00:56With the basic function working, we created three specialized bins.

01:14And then, came the ultimate bin, the punishment bin.
01:22You picked it with a soft R launcher.
01:24If someone litters, you can remote control it to fire a warning shot.
01:29So now the throwing trash part is solved, what about emptying the trash automatically?
01:33We actually make this a heat-sealed mega-bin.
01:36And we give each small bin a bag-swapping mechanism.
01:38When a small bin approaches the big one, the big bin extends a clamp, lifts the bag system,
01:43swings it over the mouth, then tightens the heated wires to seal and cut off the full part
01:48of the bag, which drops into the big bin. A fresh bag is pulled into place.
01:52But wait, how do the small bins even find the big one, when everyone leaves and the light goes off?
01:57This is what it looks like.
02:24We embedded LED strips under the floor,
02:26and place downward-facing cameras on each bin.
02:29Then we taught them to follow the light.
02:30So by programming the light trail,
02:32we can guide the bins one by one, straight to the mega-trash bin.
