00:40Just this week, Trump announced a 25% increase in tariffs on Indian goods, taking the total duty to 50%.

00:47His reason? India's continued purchase of discounted Russian oil.

00:51Brazil faced a similar blow.

00:53Trump's move to hike tariffs on Brazilian products, including aircraft and energy,

00:58was linked to what he called a witch hunt against former Brazilian President Bolsonaro.

01:04But these punitive tariffs may have unintentionally achieved what decades of diplomacy couldn't.
