00:00Yellowstone is returning with a brand new sequel that revolves around a completely different
00:04family than the Duttons. It is titled The Madison, it is ready to be released,
00:09and it reveals a massive plot twist regarding the Yellowstone and the Dutton family tree.
00:14So let's talk about it. From what I've gathered, The Madison is going to be a deeply emotional
00:19drama, much quieter than the high action energy of Yellowstone. But of course,
00:24this doesn't necessarily mean that it won't be just as impactful. It's described as
00:29a heartfelt study of grief and human connection, following a wealthy New York family that relocates
00:35to the Madison River Valley in central Montana after the death of the family's patriarch.
00:40That's where Michelle Pfeiffer's character Stacy Clyburn comes in. She's the matriarch,
00:45grieving the loss of her husband and trying to hold together a family that's already fractured.
00:50And it sounds like the show's going to let us sit in that discomfort with her.
00:54According to everything that's been released so far, the focus will be on the Clyburns,
00:59and yes, they're a full-on East Coast family. Stacy's daughters, Paige McIntosh and Abigail Reese,
01:05are central characters too. Elle Chapman plays Paige, who's been described as self-centered,
01:11while Beau Garrett takes on Abigail, who's the more resilient sister. Both seem to be carrying their
01:17own grief and baggage into Montana. Matthew Fox is also in the mix as the recently deceased patriarch,
01:23and even though he's not present in the current timeline, his death is what kicks everything off.
01:28He will be the one that directs the show's trajectory through his flashback scenes,
01:32and we will witness how the complicated love between him and Michelle shaped the family as it is.
01:37The first episode will start with his funeral, and then we will only see him in the flashback scenes.
01:43But of course, none of these explain how and why the hell this show is within the Yellowstone universe.
01:48Like, what's the connection here? Well, not gonna lie, at first glance, it's a completely new branch.
01:54But the deeper I went, the more I started to connect the dots. And now I can't stop thinking
01:59about the behind-the-scene rumors that link these two branches together. And there's one name that
02:03keeps popping up whenever I hear anyone talking about the Madison, who is none other than our beloved
02:08Elizabeth Stratford. If you've watched 1923, there is no way you don't remember Elizabeth. She was
02:15Jack Dutton's sweetheart. And by the end of season two, she's lost him. Jack dies in the penultimate
02:20episode, and Elizabeth, left widowed and pregnant, walks away from the Yellowstone ranch. We never
02:26find out where she goes. We don't know what happens to her baby. But we do know one thing. She wanted
02:31out of Montana. She longed for city life, wanted to be on the East Coast. In one scene, she even says she
02:37wanted to move to Boston. Are you seeing the connection now? Well, according to rumors, Michelle Pfeiffer's
02:42character, Stacy Clyburn will be Elizabeth Stratford's granddaughter, which will be hinted at the very
02:48first episode of the new show. And honestly, is it just me? Or is it make too much sense? After all,
02:55Elizabeth left Montana pregnant. And if she started a new life in New York, her descendants wouldn't
02:59carry the Dutton blood. She likely would have married again, changed her name, and raised her child
03:04far from the ranch. So no name connection here, as expected. However, that child could have grown up
03:10completely disconnected from the Duttons. But the Montana blood would still be there.
03:15I don't know about you guys, but I also can't ignore the casting here. Michelle Pfeiffer and
03:19Michelle Randolph, who plays Elizabeth in 1923, actually look like they could be related. That
03:25might seem like a small detail. But knowing Taylor Sheridan, I find it hard to believe that's just a
03:30mere accident. Sheridan's casting always leans heavily into realism. I mean, look at how much Josh Lucas
03:37looks like a young Kevin Costner. It's kind of eerie. So the idea that Pfeiffer was cast to mirror
03:42Randolph is absolutely not far-fetched. If you ask me, that's another quiet signal that the lineage
03:48link is real. That being said, there is a parallel rumor that embrace a completely different theory.
03:54It is that Stacey's husband, the one who died, is actually the one with the Dutton blood. It claims that
04:00he was a descendant of Jack and Elizabeth, which would still explain why the family's returning to
04:05Montana after his death. According to this theory, Stacey's trying to connect with his roots and give
04:11her daughters a sense of where he came from. Honestly, this theory also makes sense. But I have
04:16to admit, if this is the direction we are heading towards, I do not get the casting choice of Matthew
04:22Fox at all, because he looks nothing like the Duttons. Regardless, we know that the filming for the
04:28Madison has already wrapped. Earlier this year, Patrick J. Adams confirmed that production stretched
04:34all the way from Texas to Montana, covering a wide swath of ground to capture the emotional
04:39landscape of the story. Alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox, Bo Garrett, Elle Chapman,
04:45Kevin Zegers, and Amaya Miller, round out the main cast. Sheridan's usual level of secrecy means we
04:51don't know everything about their characters just yet. But the fact that this crew spent months filming
04:56across two states tells me we're in for something pretty expansive. Despite the filming wrap, however,
05:02there's no official release date yet, which is driving me a little crazy. Paramount Plus
05:07hasn't confirmed a specific month, but the current expectation is that it'll drop sometime in late
05:122025. Alongside the Beth and Rip spinoff series, this is the only Yellowstone show with a 2025 release
05:20date at hand right now, which makes it pretty special in my eyes. But let me know what you think about it.
