Intel CEO says he is working with US administration after Trump demands resignation

US President Donald Trump demanded Thursday that the new boss of US chip maker Intel resign "immediately," after a Republican senator raised national security concerns over his links to firms in China.  In a statement issued Thursday, Lip-Bu Tan's said the company was "engaged with the Trump administration to address the concerns raised and ensure officials "have the facts." 00:42opportunities it has given him. He added that he fully shares Trump's commitment to advancing U.S.

00:47national and economic security and is proud to lead a company so central to these goals.

00:52The Malaysia-born tech industry veteran took the helm at struggling Intel in March,

00:58announcing layoffs as White House tariffs and export restrictions muddied the market.

01:03He has previously said it won't be easy to overcome challenges faced by the company.
