The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, located within the Dubai Mall, is one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world and offers various interactive experiences with marine life, including otters. Otter Encounter workshop allows visitors to get up close and personal with these adorable creatures, learning about their behavior, habitat and conservation efforts.
Otters are semi-aquatic mammals known for their playful behavior, sleek bodies, and webbed feet. They belong to the family Mustelidae, which also includes weasels, badgers, and wolverine
Otters are found in a variety of aquatic habitats, including rivers, lakes, marshes, and coastal areas around the world. They can be found in freshwater, saltwater, and brackish environments.
There are 13 species of otters belonging to either the Old World or New World groups. Some well-known species include the North American river otter, Eurasian otter, giant otter, sea otter and Asian small-clawed otter.

Otters are highly social animals and often live in family groups called rafts. They communicate through vocalizations, scent markings, and body language. Otters are known for their playful nature, engaging in activities like sliding down muddy slopes and playing with objects in the water.
