La famille Hastings est propriétaire d'une maison funéraire à La Rochelle, en Géorgie. Cette petite ville, située non loin de La Nouvelle-Orléans, est réputée pour ses maisons hantées, ses cimetières inquiétants et ses phénomènes inexpliqués. Les Hastings ont pour mission de garder les secrets les plus dangereux et de venir en aide aux défunts, dont la cause de la mort, inexpliquée, relève de forces démoniaques. La famille combat ces esprits maléfiques qui distillent le mal dans toute la région. Après une absence de 16 ans, Calvin, le fils Hastings, fait son retour à La Rochelle, ce qui coïncide avec l'arrivée de l'Exécuteur. La série n'a pas été renouvelée pour une deuxième saison.
