00:00time tonight this is the fight that we're in we didn't start this fight
00:05donald trump started it i'm not gonna go to work so you see me look at here bye
00:11obama told democrats to get tough and they ran away
00:16shots fired in the sydney sweeney situation she's a registered republican oh now i love her ad
00:33i don't think there's anything harder than finding a liberal boyfriend
00:36where is he i just want to find a dude that voted for kamala harris kamala becoming a big problem
00:48white dudes for harris is here she doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell plus down up down up
00:58i'm beating you the messiah told democrats to toughen up and what did they do they ran away
01:12if you're seeing this video my democratic colleagues and i have just left our beloved
01:17state to break quorum and stop trump's redistricting power grab it is 2025 we are breaking quorum
01:26it's time to keep making good trouble thank you all for your prayers we're going to continue
01:31to fight we're going to continue to speak the truth of power doing everything it takes to save
01:35and protect our democracy we didn't start this fight donald trump started it do you see me look
01:41in here hi democrats in texas fled their state yesterday because they claim trump's going to
01:48steal the midterms they had a private jet picked them up in austin the charter is an e-170 with leather
01:55seating and runs about 15 grand an hour who paid for it we don't know but we do know where it went
02:02illinois governor jb back ribs pritzker gave them a big old bear hug in chicago and declared it a
02:09sanctuary city for flea baggers jb backs giving them logistical support not sure what that means but
02:17sources say free hotel rooms and meals the texas refugees say they had to run because republicans
02:24wouldn't listen we really didn't have a choice we tried to negotiate republicans we tried to talk
02:30to them we try to be we try to reason with them we try to tell them that the public is very angry
02:34of what they're doing and they simply wouldn't listen this smells like a vacation texas is hot in
02:41august high 90s all week with humidity it feels like 100 so they hop on a plane and check into a hyatt in
02:48chicago we were in chicago last august for the convention it is beautiful nice breeze comes off
02:55the lake they're not working they're just sitting around doing cnn hits one guy says he's the victim
03:03as a state representative i get paid about 600 a month uh before taxes and so that's not much to to
03:11live off of and so many of my colleagues including myself we have day jobs that help us pay the bills
03:17and by breaking quorum we are leaving those day jobs behind we are sacrificing the income that we
03:23need to make ends meet like kanye said how are you going to be mad on vacation over 50 democrats quit
03:31their jobs left their friends voters family behind to go glamping at fort jb back they're acting like
03:38they were drafted this is a war we are at war and that's why the gloves are off and i say bring it
03:47on texas is redistricting so democrats might lose a few congressional seats doesn't sound like war to me
03:56shooting trump and arresting him that was a lot more warlike and did trump run away no if texas is a
04:04war zone why are democrats abandoning their brothers and sisters texas isn't actually a war zone democrats
04:11just ran out of the state house and won't do their jobs so now no one in the state house can do their
04:16job texas governor greg abbott's been riding their bumpers told them to get back to work or else
04:23the reports are uh these legislators have been both they sought money and they offered money
04:29uh to uh skip the vote to leave the legislature to uh take a uh legislative act that would be
04:38bribery they face a possibility of facing bribery charges which is a second degree felony in the
04:43state of texas there's one way to cure that and and that is past voter id may actually lose her seat
04:50to redistricting and guess who she blames because the supreme court has paved the way for half the stuff
04:59that we see that's going on listen donald trump is a piece of okay we know that yes yes he is he is
05:07he is a part of me feels what's good for the goose is good for the gander but i'd also like to keep
05:14crockett in congress because she's such a delicious foil and so what if texas is redistricting so what
05:21their state constitution gives them the legal right to democrats have been trying to redistrict texas
05:27by letting millions of migrants break in they've been trying to turn texas blue illegally both
05:33parties gerrymander a little bit but look at the state where democrats fled to the gerrymandering
05:40capital of the world illinois they just play connect the dots with blue cities that map looks like jesse
05:46jr drew it that one district the squiggly one down there the blue one that looks like an earthworm on
05:52lsd and look at one of the texas districts that democrats are running away from they basically drew
05:59a highway between houston and austin even the media is calling them hypocrites do you believe it's
06:05hypocritical for democrats to deploy the same strategy that they're criticizing by republicans in texas
06:13well first of all let's understand why donald trump is asking for five more republicans each side of texas
06:19it's because his policies especially his economic policies have been so bad dodge the american people
06:25don't even know the word gerrymander and they don't care they just want politicians to show up to work
06:31democrats never ran away from their job when you lost money you lost your home or god forbid your
06:37daughter lost her life they're running away when they might lose power they're admitting that a blue
06:44waves not coming it's more like a blue trickle so they're running hiding and throwing a tantrum like
06:49my daughter gigi does when she doesn't get her way and every parent knows you can't give in
06:56even when your children start breaking stuff
07:05it was everything i could have ever dreamed and hoped for what were you thinking about when you
07:08were smashing what did you smash the patriarchy what were you smashing the anger out for today
07:14um everything you know like our rights being taken away slowly but surely many trans friends that are
07:22afraid to even walk outside you trump that's my man a smash room democrats can't even figure that out
07:36they're just raging out but it doesn't hit because of their history the democrats saying anything's a
07:42threat to democracy is wild when they haven't had a primary since 2012. that's wild yeah yeah that's
07:49really wild i mean they they kicked bernie out they made sure rfk jr wasn't in and then when
07:58it came time for kamala to run no primary at all they just put her in position even rank and file democrats
08:04are waking up and realizing their party doesn't represent them it only represents the party machine
08:10i'm registered democrat but i hate my party i haven't voted for a democrat really uh in the
08:17elections in quite a while and yes i voted uh a republican many times because i like the policies better
08:24democrats have had terrible part uh policies and now we have the rise of the so-called progressives
08:30they're really regresses they need to show more interest in working people instead of saying
08:36they're for working people if democrats don't like the way they're losing power in texas
08:43the way to get it back is by running away it's by running their cities better democrats should look at
08:49what de santis and florida republicans did his policies made florida so attractive everyone moved there
08:56and it boosted the party's power or democrats could push popular policies that persuade people to come
09:03over to their side real men don't run away in a crisis they listen strategize and debate they lead
09:12running away is not normal democrats have developed this sort of like cult-like idea of what everyone
09:20should accept and what's normal and what's not normal and it's just like damn you guys are you're
09:27ruining it for everybody that thinks in a left way you're you're just a bunch of souls
09:34nationally syndicated radio host dana lash all right dana has this ever worked democrats have been running
09:40away for years yeah this is the third time jesse in a decade that democrats have fled the state of texas
09:49because they're lazy grifters and they just want to be voters remember that and reward them
09:53accordingly and jesse just icing on the cake right the fact that they ran to illinois illinois
09:59one of the if not the most gerrymandered state on god's green earth in these united states in fact
10:05the map you said it looks like jesse jr drew it it look kind of looks like the blue strip in the middle
10:10which is interstate 55 and that's what they're trying to use to connect some of these counties
10:15together it looks like a blue middle finger to voters that's exactly what it looks like
10:20and i'll have everybody know that the gerrymandering in texas was already done this is a correction of the
10:25five most gerrymandered districts in all of the united states two two of them aren't
10:34and the 35th so this has got to change if democrats want to deny voters equal and fair representation
10:40we went to war over that you want to talk about a war i'm talking about a real war they need to go
10:45back and study the the war of independence because we took politicians to task over that stuff and
10:51voters are tired of being railroad but railroaded by these do nothing democrats so get back to work
10:56or by god i hope ken paxton goes and drags them by the hair on their head back do they get the optics
11:03that the american people don't like when politicians run away i mean you can't run away and then go on
11:10on tv and admit you ran away yeah and solicit donations to help running away how these environmentalists
11:18that got these private chartered planes how much were those planes to take them to new york and hold
11:23a press conference with kathy hochel how much were they to go to illinois and hold a press conference
11:28with penguin 2.0 of gotham jb pritzker up there in chicago i mean that these are all questions that we
11:34as voters we would like to know and these democrats they better watch because we had all these people
11:39moving into texas so yes they all started voting republican they were fleeing california
11:44these districts especially near the border they are
11:49they saw results under this administration they are playing with fire fafo is a phrase for a reason
11:55jesse you know you can't be upset about a political power grab right they tried to kill trump they tried
12:02to strip him off the ballot they they threw him in jail almost they made him sit in a courtroom during the
12:08election and then they find him half a billion dollars it is that that's this is a power grab
12:16that that that's this is nothing grab if they want to have a discussion about cheating let's talk about
12:22how they tried to rob the american people of a free and fair election back in 2016 when they were
12:26working with hillary clinton and the dnc through fusion gps and perkins cooey who acted as the middleman
12:31to try to deprive americans of their vote the integrity of their vote they almost destabilized an entire
12:37system because they wanted to cheat because they could not win if they want to have more power in
12:43congress they need to win more elections and they're not going to do it by yelling at everybody
12:48about pronouns and going out there and embracing people who scream globalize the intifada they're
12:52not going to do that so they need to get they need to take a check here they need to get right on the
12:57same page with the rest of texas voters i'm done this is a special session jesse we wanted relief some
13:03of us wanted property tax relief here in texas i want these people back or i want them in jail
13:08all right well it looks like that may happen i don't think this posse is messing around then
13:12then a lash good to see you
13:16fox news alert the department of justice has now taken the russia investigation to a grand jury
13:22tulsi laid out the conspiracy with never before seen intelligence and bondi's moving the case quickly
13:28and prosecutors already compiling the evidence an indictment could be coming we just don't know who
13:33yet but possible suspects include clinton clapper comey brennan all fair game we have the original
13:43white dude for harris on deck is he still a happy warrior plus here's johnny what's the healthiest thing
13:52that you do i party a lot which means that i dance a lot so i'm working out
14:00sun is rising on the golden age i can't think of a more influential president during this
14:08century and it starts here with tariffs he said he was going to raise tariffs and despite the claims
14:13otherwise he is in fact doing that how about net migration in the united states get this it's down
14:19he has been tremendously influential to a historic degree it was a bad day to be a panicking because
14:25it was an absolute monster day on wall street look at that harold ford jr just bought another yacht
14:31cnn asked voters should democrats give trump credit and they were floored catherine my producer just asked
14:39me to predict the results so i don't want to look at the screen and i say i think people who vote will
14:44vehemently disagree with the poll question today let's see go ahead show me the result whoa okay well
14:52you know there's no cheating you know there's no cheating now i'm going to send that poll to jessica
14:59but trump's not looking for credit just the nobel peace press and it's still all smiles at the white
15:05house trump lined up the interns and shook all of their hands note to clinton that's the appropriate way to
15:12agreed interns but it's democrats who are the ones shaken they see all this power that president trump
15:18has amassed and they're very shaken by it and they're not also really understanding how not only
15:23did they lose it guess it was a close election but they lost every battleground state and that's
15:27something that i think democrats are still trying to wrap their heads around democrats still can't
15:31figure out why they lost to trump twice democrat voters they're starting to understand chris cuomo
15:38opened up a trump apology hotline and the calls flooded in i'm not too proud to say that i am wrong
15:47about trump of a registered democrats who voted for trump i thought this would never happen i was wrong
15:52to hate president trump and it took october 7th for me to realize that while democrat voters are holding
15:59public confessionals so were fired anchors terry moran whose tds got so out of control abc had to 86
16:07admits what we already knew quote were we biased yes almost inadvertently i'd say abc news has the same
16:16problems so many leading crime drama and sources tell the post gail king's future at cbs is murky the network's
16:24tired of dei programming and gail's way too overpaid to be getting less than 2 million viewers a show
16:31legacy media is dead so democrats are moving online they're planning on spending tens of millions of
16:37dollars to create an army of influencers to win hearts and minds on social media operation brainwash
16:45democrats are trying to buy influence just like they're trying to buy your vote but you can't just
16:51buy elections kamala approve that but there's a chance she might try again why are you saving
16:58yourself for a different office that might be no no why is it then when we think we want to improve
17:04a system or change it that we're always on the outside on bended knee or trying to break down the door
17:11shouldn't we also be inside the system and that has been my career for now i don't want to go back in
17:17the system i think it's broken i want to travel the country i want to listen to people i want to talk
17:22with people and i don't want it to be transactional where i'm asking for their vote democrats heard
17:28kamala it's on the road and they said stay away from me operatives telling politico this we will not
17:34be asking her to be a surrogate and i don't think she would necessarily be a good surrogate for us
17:40given that we outperformed her or i don't want her in my district even the washington post wants her
17:48gone and thinks whoever's been floating kamala for 28 on her team should be fired stephen a agrees
17:55i hope y'all don't think for one second that she's got a chance to win in 2028
18:00she doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell there is no way america will pick kamala
18:07as a democratic nominee for the presidency of the united states in 2028 it won't happen
18:14it just won't happen it's too much there to hold against her kamala isn't running for governor and
18:21cnn says if she's smart she'll sit the next election out too i just can't possibly believe
18:29that someone who was attorney general for a good period of time a united states senator for a good
18:34period of time and then vice president for four years and then ran for president all of a sudden
18:38believes that the best way to solve it is from being outside the system oh please she has left
18:43open the idea that maybe she could run in 2028 for the democratic nomination but i'll tell you abby
18:48i've looked at those numbers she would be the weakest front runner since 1992. if kamala does decide to
18:56run and tries to distance herself from joe or even throw him under the electric bus delaware is on
19:02standby with a dirty bomb if the biden people decide that kamala harris is coming after joe biden
19:09wait till you hear the palin-esque stories about how much they tried to help her be prepared to be
19:14vice president and be in a position to run and how much they decided not happening she's not up to
19:22this she will have a hard time defending against the stories at that damn burst if kamala was that bad
19:28how do you think it makes joe look for tapping her as vp and promoting her as president joe just looks
19:35like a liar he's saying you think they were covering up for me we were covering up for her
19:42and the big guy's got a lot of time on his hands to get revenge he spent last week wandering around
19:46to baskin robbins drinking a milkshake with a straw the democrats bench is so shallow they're recruiting
19:54people who don't even play the sport i would love to see john stewart run in 2028 if we're talking
20:00about like a change good morning america and welcome to fox and friends it's monday august 4th
20:057 00 a.m eastern and our headlines are packed with politics crime controversy and even a celestial
20:13margarita mention even while the relationship royals margarita debate still captivates some fans
20:19and yes we'll revisit that later let's dive into serious matters first up the sydney sweeney scandal
20:26unexpectedly went viral again once the u.s border patrol horse patrol unit weighed in with a cheeky
20:32instagram post praising the rugged durability of their genes proclaiming it's in our dna which
20:37widened the discussion into pop culture and law enforcement crossover meanwhile capitol hill saw real
20:42fireworks as the senate adjourned for august recess amid a bitter deadlock over over 140 of president
20:48trump's judicial and executive nominees the white house claims senate democrats are intentionally
20:53dragging their feet demanding up to two billion dollars in unrelated foreign aid and nih funding
20:58just to expedite confirmations a demand trump labeled insane while senate minority leader chuck
21:02schumer accused the president of throwing a tantrum and walking away from a deal on another front
21:08democrats remain suspiciously cagey about whether vice president clay harris should run in 2028
21:13on the sunday talk shows instead of offering endorsement party leaders offered
21:17only vague advice like follow your heart even as journalist mark halperin reported that biden allies
21:23are threatening to leak damaging stories about harris should she raise concerns about president
21:27biden's cognitive fitness telling her you won't look good if you dare speak out harris's past political
21:32rebranding staged events awkward marketing are now being revived publicly raising urgent questions if not her
21:40then who in their place young progressives like alexandria ocasio cortez and zoran mamdani are winning
21:47enthusiastic support among gen z voters praised for their energy and alignment with causes like housing and
21:53health care yet veteran commentator bill maher warns democrats that running such a radical ticket
21:59nationally will guarantee republicans victory arguing these candidates diagnose real problems effectively
22:04but propose impractical solutions that alienate mainstream voters as democrats struggle with
22:10leadership republicans gain ground tapping into growing discontent over insider politics economic
22:15stagnation rising crime and global instability in stark contrast two quadruple homicide manhunts
22:21one in anaconda montana for military veteran michael paul brown accused of killing four bar patrons and
22:27fleeing in stolen gear and another in tennessee involving fugitive austin robert drummond charged with murdering
22:32four family members highlight escalating violence and imperiled justice amid that darkness a rare respite
22:38pope leo was welcomed by over one million young catholics at a gathering dubbed catholic woodstock
22:44a powerful display of faith and unity all of this unfolds as democrats deliver mixed messaging and
22:50internal conflict with no clear nominee or vision ahead of 2028 with crime inflation and foreign policy
22:56taking center stage americans are searching for grounded leadership while republicans press forward
23:01offering law and order and economic stability arguments as this political drama intensifies and the
23:07midterm cycle heats up the stakes are clear the coming months may not only define party platforms but
23:13the very future direction of u.s governance and values in a highly charged political standoff that is
23:19rapidly gaining national attention a group of texas democratic lawmakers have left the state in a dramatic move
23:25to prevent a republican-led redistricting vote from moving forward a vote that would alter the state's
23:29congressional map and potentially consolidate gop power for years to come by fleeing texas and
23:35traveling to blue states strongholds such as chicago boston and new york these legislators are
23:41denying the texas state house the quorum required to conduct official legislative business effectively
23:46grinding lawmaking to a halt and provoking fierce condemnation from governor greg abbott who has
23:50threatened to take punitive measures including potentially forcing their removal from office if they
23:54fail to return by the end of the day while the democrats insist their actions are driven by moral
23:59clarity and a duty to protect voting rights and democratic integrity in the face of what they allege
24:05is a coordinated effort spearheaded by governor abbott and supported by former president donald trump
24:11to manipulate electoral outcomes by shifting district lines in favor of republican strongholds
24:16an accusation echoed by illinois governor jb pritzker who has thrown his support behind the absent
24:22lawmakers describing the gop's efforts as a form of cheating and characterizing trump as a would-be
24:27dictator seeking to undermine democratic norms by bending state officials to his will
24:33the tactic of leaving the state to block controversial legislation is not unprecedented as texas democrats
24:39employed a similar maneuver in 2021 during a heated battle over voting legislation that eventually passed
24:45after a month-long standoff and the issuance of arrest warrants for the absent lawmakers
24:50and while critics argue that these walkouts make democrats appear obstructionist and unwilling to
24:55participate in the democratic process others see them as a last line of defense against what they
25:00perceive to be systemic voter suppression and power grabs by the republican party political analysts
25:06including fox news contributor mark teeson have mocked the democrats actions pointing out the irony
25:11that while they claim to be defending texans they are doing so from illinois a state that has seen a
25:17significant exodus of residents due to high taxes crime and what critics call failed progressive
25:23governance with over 600 000 people leaving illinois in the past decade and new data showing a resident
25:30leaves the state every nine minutes and 21 seconds offset only by an influx of undocumented immigrants who
25:37according to some reports are replacing fleeing citizens and keeping the population stable while texas in
25:44stark contrast has become the top destination for domestic migration recently surpassing 30 million
25:50residents and overtaking florida as the number one relocation state with a net gain of over 133 000
25:56new residents last year alone growth that is driving the urgent need for redistricting to reflect updated
26:02population data and ensure proportional representation yet the timing and method of the redistricting
26:07process have ignited accusations of gerrymandering and partisan manipulation especially given the looming
26:132030 census which if trends continue will result in a major shift of congressional seats and electoral
26:19votes away from traditionally democratic blue wall states like new york illinois and california and toward
26:25republican leaning states such as texas and florida potentially upending the electoral map in ways that
26:31will make it nearly impossible for democrats to reclaim the white house based on blue state wins alone as former
26:37president trump demonstrated in 2016 by breaking through that wall and winning key swing states meanwhile
26:44generational shifts within the democratic party are also underway as younger voters increasingly align
26:50themselves with progressive figures like alexandria ocasio cortez and new york assemblyman zoran mamdani
26:56both of whom are staunch critics of capitalism and vocal proponents of democratic socialism ideas that are
27:02resonating with a growing segment of left-leaning youth who reject neoliberal compromise and support
27:08more radical economic policies citing worker exploitation and income inequality as key issues that define their
27:14politics although mamdani in particular has drawn intense criticism for his controversial views on israel
27:21including denial of the country's legitimacy and calls to arrest israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu
27:28should he ever visit new york prompting many democrats to distance themselves from him though
27:32aoc has not only endorsed him but brought him to washington dc to help elevate his profile among
27:39progressives raising questions about whether such figures represent the future of the democratic party
27:43or merely its most radical wing with even trump commenting that while mamdani and aoc may be lightning
27:50in a bottle for young voters they are unlikely to lead the party as a whole yet the energy surrounding
27:55them cannot be denied and may influence party priorities in coming years on the national front
28:00trump is also making headlines for abruptly firing the head of the bureau of labor statistics after
28:05the july jobs report came in below expectations accusing her of fabricating data to make biden's
28:10economy look stronger just before the election calling it one of the worst statistical manipulations
28:15in 50 years while also facing renewed criticism over immigration policy following news that a previously
28:21detained undocumented immigrant released by local authorities who ignored an ic detainer request went
28:26on to cause a fatal crash that killed a mother and her young daughter an incident that is fueling renewed
28:30outrage over sanctuary policies and federal local law enforcement cooperation and in aviation news
28:36concerns over flight safety were reignited after a united airlines pilot issued a chilling mayday
28:42just moments after takeoff on an international flight prompting emergency protocols and renewed
28:47scrutiny of aircraft maintenance standards all while the political and cultural temperature in the
28:52country continues to rise as redistricting migration and ideology become flash points in a broader battle
28:58over the future of american democracy a growing political storm is unfolding in the state of texas
29:05one that reflects deeper national tensions over redistricting partisan power struggles and the rule of law
29:10in american governance the crisis began when more than 50 democratic legislators fled the state to sanctuary
29:16cities including chicago in a desperate effort to deny the republican majority in the texas legislature
29:22the quorum needed to pass a redistricting plan that could shift the political balance and potentially
29:27award republicans up to five additional congressional seats in the 2026 election cycle the dramatic
29:33standoff has drawn sharp lines between the two parties and prompted fierce legal and political rhetoric
29:38with republican governor greg abbott warning of potential criminal charges against the absent democrats
29:43including the possibility of bribery indictments if any lawmakers accepted payment or inducements to
29:48obstruct legislative duties a second degree felony under texas law he has given them until 3 pm to
29:54return and restore quorum which would not only allow the redistricting vote to proceed but also
29:58according to abbott serve as their only chance to cure themselves of potential legal liability for what
30:03he characterizes as a deliberate and constitutionally offensive dereliction of duty
