00:00Teddy Mellencamp has a theory, or at least something
00:04that she is pondering about her cancer diagnosis.
00:08This is kind of dark, but you know, of course,
00:10that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star
00:13has been battling cancer and has been pretty open
00:16about her treatment and what she's going through.
00:18She was on a podcast this morning
00:20where she talked about why this might have happened to her.
00:23And I know cancer patients always sometimes go through this
00:26where they're just wondering, why me?
00:29Her reasoning, or at least what she thinks it might be,
00:32is kind of, I don't know, it's ominous.
00:37And it's clear she's going through stuff.
00:39You know what, I'm going to hold my tongue.
00:41Look, Brendan, do you have it?
00:43Let's play this.
00:44The horse trainer.
00:46Yeah, I've never talked about it at all
00:53just because of the kids.
00:55Did I do things that hurt other people?
01:00Yes.
01:03To this day, does it still hurt my heart?
01:05And I wonder if that's why I got cancer?
01:09Yes.
01:10I think it was my payback.
01:20So she doesn't say it, people who watch Real Housewives
01:26know that there was an alleged affair that was alleged
01:32that she had had an affair.
01:33Is that what she's saying?
01:35Is that what she's saying?
01:36I mean, she's clearly obviously alluding to it,
01:38but she doesn't directly say I had an affair.
01:41The reason I think it's because she said,
01:43I've never spoken about this because of the kids.
01:46To me, that seems like she is referring to that,
01:49that what we had said was an alleged affair.
01:51But this sounds like her saying something happened.
01:55This is even tough to talk about because, look,
02:00she's going through it and she's obviously really upset
02:03and she has a right to feel the way she feels.
02:06But this concept of you get a sick from karma,
02:11I mean, there's no basis for it.
02:14It's not why people get sick.
02:16But you understand that some people feel that way
02:19because of their religious beliefs, right?
02:21It all goes back to religion.
02:23It all goes back to religion.
02:25And, look, I grew up in a somewhat religious family,
02:30and I'll tell you, the older I got,
02:35the more as I questioned things,
02:38I just started thinking, what is this?
02:41And it's like people need a belief in something.
02:43But at a point, if the belief is rooted in fear,
02:48which a lot of religion is, I'm not going to get started,
02:52but I have just questioned the whole foundation
02:55of a lot of this stuff.
02:56And I know that a lot of people say, oh my God,
02:58that's sacrilegious, you're a heretic,
02:59and everything else.
03:00Well, maybe I am.
03:01But just over the years, it's like to be rooted
03:05in that kind of fear is no way to live.
03:07If the guilt was just about what's happened with her family,
03:13that I get, but to think that you have got cancer
03:16because of it.
03:17I mean, if you're a cancer, I would be offended
03:19if I had cancer and someone's, I don't know,
03:21it's a little to say, oh.
03:23Oh, you got it because.
03:24Yeah, I mean, it just feels a little bit insensitive.
03:26I know she's an actual patient.
03:27If she got it because, I mean, exactly.
03:30You take it to the next logical.
03:33It's a disease that millions of people suffer from.
03:34If she got it because she did something bad,
03:36so now does every cancer patient have to go like.
03:37They start thinking, oh, well, if she's right,
03:39what did I do?
03:40And it does, it goes right back to religion.
03:44And I will stop there.
03:45I'm Ashley from Las Vegas, and my heart breaks for Teddy.
03:50She has the stress of dealing with stage four cancer
03:53and young children, so to hold the weight of guilt
03:59from whatever form it comes from is more
04:01that she should be dealing with.
04:03She should be focused on her children,
04:06mostly her health, co-parenting with Edwin.
04:09But what it does is it diverts away from that
04:11because then you start beating yourself up
04:14rather than doing what you just said.
04:16So I'll tell you, religion can do a lot of damage.
04:23That's all I'm going to say.
04:24Enough said.
