00:00The Senate on Monday, August 4th, named Senator Paolo Bamaquino IV as the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology.

00:14This marks Aquino's second time leading the Science Committee, having previously served as chairperson from 2016 to 2019 during his first term in the Senate.

00:24Meanwhile, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano will now head Senate Committee on Banks and Financial Institution.

00:34Cayetano, the former head of the Science and Technology panel, asked Aquino to allow him at least a year to complete the pending bills and initiatives he started under the committee.

00:44The latest committee assignments is part of the change of committee chairmanships which started since the entry of the new senators in the 20th Congress.
