Brazilians run historic Rio-Niteroi Bridge Challenge after 12 years

After a 12-year break, thousands of runners take part in the Rio-Niteroi Bridge Challenge, a 21-kilometer race that features crossing the 13-kilometer-long bridge, the longest in the Southern Hemisphere. The race starts in Niteroi and finishes in Rio de Janeiro.

"It's unique, we usually only cross by car. We have no idea of the vastness of the bridge," says 38-year-old runner Enrique Reis.
