Root pays tribute to Graham Thorpe after 39th Test hundred

00:00I think this week it's been amazing that Surrey as a club at the UCB have recognised everything that he's done for English cricket

00:08as a player, as a coach, as a mentor, as a friend to the dressing room, to the game of cricket

00:15and that was on behalf of our team really to be honest

00:20everything that he's given to and sacrificed for English cricket

00:26is someone that's impacted my career personally a huge amount

00:31and I think just this week the amount of love and support that's been for him and for his family

00:38and all the good that's come from it and the amount of money that's been raised as well

00:43I think it's amazing and it's special that sport can provide that

00:49so yeah it was more than anything it was just a thank you for everything that he's given the game of cricket
