01:29men like Great Okan, men like his opponent Yoshihashi, Ren Narita, Drilla Maloney, and maybe even others to add themselves to that list here tonight.
01:38Momino wants to tie at the top of Brock B, and that means he's going to have to rely a lot on his upcoming tiebreak matches soon to come in G1 action.

03:37It is Yoshihashi who says himself, Rocky, that everything can change in an instant.
04:05There is no way to start a fire unless you have a little bit of a spark.
04:10In the beginning of this year's G1 Primax, three straight singles victories in a row was exactly the spark Yoshihashi has needed to light the flame for the rest of his tournament campaign.
04:21Currently sitting at eight points on the board, Yoshihashi has an opportunity to hit double digits here tonight.
04:28And he's got to be the man that he has beat before in singles action, albeit not since Schultz Rubino's excursion.
04:35Yoshihashi at eight.
04:36What's your take there?
04:38I would say Yoshihashi coming into this tournament felt like the underdog.
04:43The underdog and the B-block and came out the gate swinging.
04:48Came out the gate using the momentum and the passion and the inspiration of the rookie go-to to fire himself up to come out the gate with those three big wins.
04:59Obviously with gate kicking out another two points added to that and now sitting eight points in a great position to possibly win the B-block.
05:16Yoshihashi!
05:17And as you look to this matchup you see two very different men, two very different distinct careers coming up at two different times.
05:42But Shota Umino looks ahead to himself in a parallel universe.
05:49I'd argue in many ways there's, and this is not to discredit Yoshihashi at all, multiple time IWGP Tag Team Champion, etc., etc., if you run down a resume.
05:58But Shota Umino has hopes of aspiring to something more than what Yoshihashi has been able to accomplish in his 15-year career.
06:05And there's a lot, a lot, a lot of truth to the idea that if Shota Umino doesn't start putting up results soon,
06:12he very well may end up just a Tag Team Champion, just X, Y, and Z.
06:17Yeah, I mean, I could see, I could see that.
06:21You know, the way that Shota has been able to get close to the top but not quite seat himself at the top.
06:32Well, conversation that we've had a lot over the years just with Yoshihashi's best friend and long-time Tag Team Partner in Hiroki Goto.
06:42Of course, managing to become IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, injured by Zack Sabre Jr.
06:47And that injury taking Goto out of this year's G1 Climax.
06:51Yoshihashi had hopes of entering this tournament and, well, challenging Goto for the title should he win G1 Climax.
06:57He's not going to be able to do that here now.
07:00And still a driving factor.
07:03All of it behind Yoshihashi at the top of Block B.
07:14One previous singles match on record taking place back when Shota Umino was a young lion.
07:19Road to Wrestling Dotaku 2019, about six years ago.
07:23Oh, man, what the amount of change Shota Umino has been able to undergo since that day in time.
07:31You see very different looks, very different incarnations, very different styles for Umino.
07:37Over that period, there is nothing that outdoes experience, Rocky.
07:41You said that yourself.
07:42And Yoshihashi proven exactly how that case works.
07:46Well, Umino, not slowing down, but runs right into a brick wall here.
07:53Yeah, I think a lot like Yoshihashi coming up.
07:59Yoshihashi didn't really find himself until much later in his career.
08:04You know, there was a lot of experimentation on who he was and trying to figure it out of what type of professional wrestler he would be or become.
08:14And I think Shota Umino has had a little bit of that same struggle, you know, especially in the last two to three years.
08:22Finding himself where he belongs in the company, what type of star he'll be, what type of style he'll create for himself.
08:33And I think that we're finally starting to see a little more light coming out of Wrestle Kingdom this year.
08:42And seeing what Shota has improved on, you know, in the last couple months.
08:47You know, it's really interesting to talk about the upbringing of a man like Yoshihashi trying to find himself.
08:54As Shota Umino finds himself hung up on that top rope.
08:57Let's put a pin in that conversation for a moment.
09:00Yoshihashi off the ropes here for ten points.
09:04And that is a drop kick sending a shockwave through Umino.
09:07Cover here for Yoshihashi and it's just two.
09:12You know, when you play the comparison game, which often happens a lot in professional wrestling,
09:16you look at the same night Yoshihashi returning from excursion, what managed to happen on that night
09:22and who made a very big impact.
09:24That's the name, Kazuchika Okada, current AEW Unified Champion.
09:28And, you know, you talk about comparisons all the time.
09:32There have been a lot of comparisons between Shota Umino and previous generation stars like Tetsuya Naito and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
09:39Comparison among your own generation.
09:41Sometimes that can be helpful, but sometimes that can hurt you in the long run, Rocky.
09:44No, absolutely.
09:46You know, as nice as it is sometimes to be compared, it's not what you want as a wrestler
09:54because you want to be your own person.
09:56You know?
09:57And I think that it's important to figure out your identity of who you are so that the fans can get behind you.
10:05You can rally the fans behind you to find success because that's an important part of this.
10:10I think getting into that point that you're talking about there, Rocky, this has been a rehabilitory tournament for Shota Umino in a lot of ways.
10:18A lot of people were not impressed with the performances Umino put up in G1 Climax 34, albeit with a slew of injuries heading into it in the midst of that tournament.
10:27And even still, Shota Umino now wrestling at longer paces, looking to show off a little bit more inside that ring than he could last year in G1 action.
10:39Over an hour and a half already combined in competition for Umino.
10:42Yoshihashi, on the other hand, in that equation, a third of the amount of time Umino has spent inside the ring, around 30 minutes.
10:55I mean, that's got to be the goal if you're in a tournament like this.
10:57Quick and easy, get it done.
10:58Yep.
10:59Yep.
10:59Yoshihashi, like I said earlier, the complete underdog, I think, going into this tournament in this particular block.
11:06And somehow, having probably set up the best success.
11:13Sitting at the top of block B right now is Yoshihashi.
11:21Alongside Great Okan, alongside Ren Narita.
11:26Shota looking for some of that power game.
11:28You talk about establishing your identity.
11:31Both of these men continuing to do so.
11:33Yoshihashi more set.
11:34And that basement dropkick there, that is a staple in the arsenal of Yoshihashi.
11:40Thank you.
12:04This crowd rallying on this matchup for two points at block B of G1 Climax 35.
12:14Yoshihashi looking for power.
12:16Shota Umino thinking otherwise.
12:18Favors that left knee does Umino.
12:19You're going to have to keep watching that.
12:21Attention directed to the chest of Umino here.
12:26Oh, turns the tide, turns the tide.
12:28Tornado.
12:29Oh, my God.
12:32That was a disgusting, disgusting crunch on the neck there for Yoshihashi.
12:36She's short to holding on to that left knee damage dunk in that basement dropkick.
12:51It only takes one dropkick like that from Yoshihashi to throw everything else out of alignment.
12:56And Shota Umino certainly has to be able to keep everything well in line to get a win over a vet like Yoshihashi.
13:06Oh!
13:08A little extra on that.
13:11Strike knee out of the corner.
13:13Inverted.
13:13Turned around.
13:14Brought up with the power game.
13:16Oh!
13:17Powerbomb from Shota Umino.
13:20Cover again.
13:22And it's two.
13:25And now, look at this.
13:27Masahiro Chono to Shota Umino.
13:29The STF locked in.
13:34Hey, if it works for Chono, it might work for Shota.
13:37All right, Yoshihashi wrenched back further and further.
13:48Covering the mouth there is Shota Umino, as much as he could at least.
13:52Cannot afford to loosen the grip at all here again at Umino.
13:58Oh, and again, wrenching back.
14:01Yoshihashi trying to get to that bottom rope here.
14:03And to the bottom.
14:07Now she will make it.
14:23Shota Umino believes that he was not born to be a middle-of-the-pack wrestler.
14:28And at six points, middle-of-the-pack is exactly where he sits in block B right now.
14:33Oh, Yoshihashi to try and stay at the top, but get to double digits on ten points.
14:45Meeting in the middle again.
14:46Neither man goes down, Rocky.
14:48Oh!
14:52Oh, cuts him off with that left arm Larry.
14:56As soon as Shota was starting to build some nice momentum.
15:10Yoshihashi takes it away.
15:11Yoshihashi said it.
15:13Anything can change in an instant.
15:15Oh!
15:16Destroyer.
15:19Yoshihashi on the cover.
15:21One, two.
15:35Imagine the story.
15:38Karoki Goto, first time becoming IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in 2025.
15:43And Yoshihashi winning the key one.
15:48Anything is possible.
15:50You've got to believe in yourself.
15:52Oh, there's no belief left in Yoshihashi after that.
15:55Shota Umino extends the right arm.
15:58Drives right through the headhunter.
16:01And Umino's not done.
16:02Out of the corner.
16:03Watch it.
16:04Strike knee.
16:05Strike knee from Umino.
16:06Two.
16:07Two.
16:26Shota Umino will want to put this away.
16:28Could be the Northern Lights inbound.
16:30Watch it.
16:31Second.
16:32No!
16:34What a reversal from Yoshihashi.
16:36Brushing the head of Umino into the center of the canvas.
16:40It has become theленd forward yet.
16:41Thank goodness.
16:41L etwa US!

19:35おー!2 more on the board for Shota Umiro
19:4213分30秒
19:43Umiro Shota選手の勝利です
20:05A much-needed win for Shota
20:25Shota Umiro has had one of the more inconsistent tournaments
20:38out of those that sit at the top of the block
20:40Win one night, lose the next
20:43Win one night, lose the next
20:45But that's the name of the game
20:46This is G1 Climax Rocky
20:47You gotta keep your mental straight
20:49And you gotta stay on the narrow
20:51Shota Umiro now advancing from 6 points to 8
20:55And it is very, very crowded at the top of Block B right now
21:00Alongside Great Okan
21:02Alongside Yoshihashi
21:04Wren Narita, Roa Malone
21:06And still, Tekesha and Sabre Jr. an opportunity to get to that point
21:10Later on in the evening
21:12So much coming up throughout Block B action here tonight
21:15But for the time being
21:17Everyone's sitting on 8
21:19It's hard to tell who's gonna be at the top of the block by the end of it
21:25Oh, I know it's one thing Rocky, and you can say it yourself
21:28A very tough task ahead for Shota Umiro on August 8th
21:32August 8th
21:34Shota Umiro meets Konosuke Tekesha
21:39And it is going to be
21:42A hell of a task to try to put away the outfit
21:47And I'm not saying that because he's my main man
21:52Alpha Dwight
