04:52These airborne insertions, practiced extensively in various terrains, allow the unit to deploy
05:15rapidly and stealthily into hostile or inaccessible areas, a critical advantage in surprise operations
05:22The precision and discipline required for such manoeuvres are instilled through countless
05:28hours of practice, often under the most demanding meteorological conditions.
05:34Beyond airborne capabilities, the battalions' training extended to mastering the art of
05:39jungle warfare.
05:40In the dense, unforgiving forests of regions like Himachal Pradesh, operatives learned
05:47survival techniques, navigation without modern aids and the tactics of ambush and counterambush.
05:54This specialized training ensures their effectiveness in insurgency-prone areas where the terrain
06:00itself can be as challenging as the adversary.
06:03Simultaneously, their capabilities were sharpened for mountain operations, a crucial skill given
06:10India's extensive Himalayan borders.
06:14Training in high-altitude environments focusing on mountaineering, cold weather survival and
06:20combat in oxygen-depleted zones prepares them for the unique rigors of alpine warfare.
06:26Perhaps one of the most critical aspects of their preparation is urban close-quarters battle, CQB.
06:34Conducted in specialized facilities in locations such as Belgom and Nahen, CQB training focuses
06:41on combat within confined spaces such as buildings and urban environments.
06:46This involves mastering room intervention techniques, hostage rescue scenarios, precision shooting
06:53and rapid decision-making under extreme pressure.
06:57The emphasis is on minimizing collateral damage while neutralizing threats swiftly and effectively,
07:03a skill paramount in counter-terrorism operations within populated areas.
07:09The meticulous and multi-facete training has paid dividends in the battlefield.
