00:00Don't tell the elf.
00:02Not a word.
00:11Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the movies we can watch again and again.
00:18Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.
00:24Number 20. Back to the Future
00:26There are time travel movies, and then there's Back to the Future.
00:29The story of Marty McFly's trip back to the 1950s is positively timeless.
00:40The clash between 80s and 50s cultures may not land for everyone today,
00:44but the memorable characters and dozens of quotable lines never fail to entertain.
00:49When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious shit.
00:54It certainly makes for a rewarding rewatch, since there are so many elements of foreshadowing peppered throughout the film from its opening scene.
01:01We can't go back in time to watch Back to the Future for the first time, but rewatching it is the next best thing.
01:07Number 19. Fight Club
01:09The real first rule of Fight Club is that you have to watch it more than once.
01:13And, sure, being able to go back and see all the clues leading up to that famous twist is nice, but it's also just really easy to get lost in the film in general.
01:21You're not into it, are you?
01:22No. God, not at all.
01:24I am Jack's raging bile duct.
01:27Its commentary on masculinity and commercialism remains relevant.
01:31Likewise, seeing the narrator and Tyler's friendship develop before spiraling out of control, along with the Fight Club they create, is downright hypnotic.
01:39We're not killing anyone, man. We're setting him free.
01:41God is dead. They shot him in the head.
01:44You wanna make an omelet, you gotta break some of it.
01:47When you're in it, it'll keep you awake until you experience it again.
01:51Number 18. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
01:54One does not simply watch The Lord of the Rings just once.
01:58You shall not pass!
02:06We know it's kinda cheating to include every film from this fantasy trilogy, but in our defense, it's impossible to pick one to rule them all.
02:14Whether you're doing your annual marathon of Frodo and the Fellowship's journey to destroy the One Ring or just enjoying your favorite clips,
02:20The Lord of the Rings is incredibly rewatchable.
02:23Countless scenes and lines from these movies have been embedded in pop culture because they're just so dang epic.
02:29For Frodo.
02:43Number 17. Gladiator
02:45Speaking of epics, Gladiator is a historical one that never fails to entertain.
02:50Maximus' fight through gladiator battles to come before the man who destroyed his life is endlessly gripping.
03:06Part of why it's so watchable is the sheer variety of its tones.
03:10Gladiator is a war movie, a revenge tale, a historical film, and a wrestling movie all rolled into one.
03:17Much like the blood sport around which it revolves, it is a real crowd pleaser.
03:22The fight scenes are satisfying, the villain is fantastically hateable, and there are so many brilliant moments of humanity throughout.
03:29It may be set nearly 2,000 years ago, but Gladiator resonates firmly in us every time we watch it.
03:49Number 16. The Silence of the Lambs
03:52A horror and thriller film in one package, The Silence of the Lambs is among the best of both genres.
03:57Clarice Starling's hunt for Buffalo Bill with the assistance of the devious Dr. Hannibal Lecter is captivating from start to finish to the next start.
04:05Nearly everything about it demands multiple viewings. The performances are multifaceted, with the subtle power dynamics at play in each scene taking a while to unpack.
04:24Meanwhile, so many scenes are expertly fraught with tension and scares that you'll jump even after dozens of viewings.
04:31The Silence of the Lambs is a masterpiece. We love to sit down and enjoy it, with a nice Chianti or not.
04:47Number 15. The Breakfast Club
04:49Teen movies make for some of the most rewatchable experiences. The Breakfast Club takes something as mundane as detention and turns it into something unforgettable.
04:58I don't want to get into this with you, man.
05:02Why not?
05:04Because I'd kill you.
05:06It's a great hangout movie, with the hijinks we love to watch repeatedly. It's not all fun and games, though.
05:12The group of five kids may initially see each other as stereotypes, but through their shared experiences, particularly some hard-hitting revelations about their home lives, they come to understand life and each other a little more.
05:24You're so conceited, Glenn. You're so conceited. You're so, like, full of yourself. Why are you like that?
05:32I'm not saying that to be conceited.
05:35Whether you're a teen yourself or reflecting on your time as one, The Breakfast Club is a film we never forget to watch.
05:42Number 14. Goodfellas
05:44Gangster movies are another genre that just makes for watchable cinema, and Goodfellas is among the elite.
05:50What do you mean, don't be like that?
05:52Jesus Christ!
05:54Not only is the rise and fall of Henry Hill like a twisted version of the American dream, it's also darkly comedic and expertly filmed.
06:02Everything about it, from the cinematography, to the dialogue, to the narration, to its bit characters, is fantastic.
06:08Goodfellas may or may not make you want to be a gangster, but watching every scene makes us hungry for more.
06:14Just like that dinner the wise guys cook up in prison.
06:17He used a razor, and he used to slice it so thin that it used to liquefy in the pan with just a little oil.
06:23It's a very good system.
06:25Number 13. The Godfather
06:27What did we just say about gangster movies? And what's the ultimate gangster film?
06:32The Godfather, of course.
06:34Let me say that I swear, on the souls of my grandchildren, that I will not be the one to break the peace we've made here today.
06:44Sure, it's a titan of cinema, and so many of its most memorable lines pervade our collective consciousness.
06:50But that doesn't mean Michael Corleone's ascension, or fall, to become the new Godfather isn't worth watching again and again.
06:56The phenomenal cast is acting their butts off in every single scene.
07:00The mood and atmosphere are just as important as what's happening on the surface.
07:18Rewatching The Godfather is an offer we could never refuse.
07:22Number 12. The Big Lebowski
07:24The dude abides, and so does our love for this movie.
07:28Oh man, come on. Who are you gonna believe those guys are...
07:32We dropped off the damn money.
07:34We?
07:36Why?
07:37Jeff the dude Lebowski may not have any idea what he's doing in the middle of a mystery plot,
07:43but we absolutely love seeing him try and fail to figure it out, along with all the strange people he encounters.
07:50People forget that the brain is the biggest erogenous zone.
07:56On you, maybe.
07:58Whether we're watching it for the umpteenth time to recite the oh-so-quotable dialogue,
08:02or just dropping in to see what condition the bizarre characters are in,
08:05we love to revisit The Big Lebowski.
08:07Much like Walter telling Donnie to shut up, this movie just does not get old.
08:19Number 11. Home Alone
08:21A staple of holiday viewing for many people and cable channels for decades,
08:26Home Alone is an incredibly watchable movie.
08:29How may I help you?
08:31Is this toothbrush approved by the American Dental Association?
08:34We never tire of Kevin McAllister getting left at home and deciding to fight off a pair of bumbling burglars,
08:39instead of, you know, getting the authorities involved sooner.
08:42The traps are inventive, the pratfalls hysterical, and the heartfelt moments make us melt every time.
08:48It doesn't matter if we're watching it with loved ones in winter,
08:51or replaying it when we're Home Alone ourselves.
08:53Home Alone makes for great comfort viewing on any occasion.
08:57What?
08:58Ah!
08:59Jesus!
09:00Did I get him?
09:02Did I get him?
09:03Did I get him?
09:04Number 10. Mrs. Doubtfire
09:06Robin Williams manages to make us laugh and cry in this timeless classic.
09:10Movie fanatics love Mrs. Doubtfire for its message about fatherly dedication,
09:15and how far a parent would go to spend time with his children.
09:18It's lovely to meet you.
09:20Yeah, nice to meet you.
09:21You too, lady.
09:22Although it may seem a little too sad,
09:26and maybe a little extreme at times,
09:28it's still a lovable go-to to watch alone or on any family movie night.
09:32With hilarious moments like the makeover or the table-hopping climax,
09:36and more heartwarming scenes that show the character's progression,
09:39Mrs. Doubtfire is a flick anyone can enjoy whether it's the first time you watch it or the 50th.
09:44I love them with all my heart.
09:46And the idea of someone telling me I can't be with them, I can't see them every day,
09:50it's like someone saying I can't have air.
09:54Number 9. The Shawshank Redemption
09:56There are quite a few perfect movies on this list,
09:59and Shawshank still feels special among this elite company.
10:03Mr. Stevens has a birth certificate, driver's license, social security number.
10:08You're shitting me.
10:09If they ever trace any of those accounts,
10:11they're gonna wind up chasing a figment of my imagination.
10:14The timeless story of Andy Dufresne's time in prison, as told by his best friend Red,
10:19The Shawshank Redemption is more than just a prison movie.
10:22From one moment to the next, you'll be crying, laughing, or feeling inspired.
10:27They ought to file this movie under educational tools, because it should be studied by everyone.
10:41We've certainly done our fair share.
10:43No good thing ever dies.
10:45Our love for Shawshank never will.
10:47Number 8. The Cabin in the Woods
10:50Ask any horror movie fanatic what film he or she keeps around for a rainy day.
10:54In all likelihood, it's this one.
10:56With an all-star cast featuring the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Richard Jenkins,
11:11this film delivers without being something it's not.
11:15When you're stuck in some perverted alien-human-killing game, it's not gonna be Oscar material.
11:20But that's just what makes this film even more rewatchable.
11:38The action never stops, the dark humor reigns supreme,
11:41and laughter fills the air in the eyes of the audience.
11:44Every time you watch this horror satire,
11:46you'll probably pick up a reference or joke that you missed the first time,
11:49making this one a great movie to rewatch.
11:52Number 7. Forrest Gump
11:54What movie buff can't say that he or she has seen this movie more than once?
11:58Come on, let's get into a wide movie!
12:01Run, Forrest! Run!
12:05As is life, it's like a box of chocolates,
12:07delivering something special without being too obvious as to what you're gonna get.
12:11With a likable protagonist and a commanding narrative, Forrest Gump never gets old.
12:15Thanks to the protagonist's ignorance about his impact on history, it also provides subtle humor.
12:21On top of that, not only is it historical, it also features its fair share of romance, action, and even social learning theory to moviegoers.
12:29Fruit Company? And so then I got a call from him saying we don't have to worry about money no more, and I said…
12:38Gump's love for Jenny, his bravery, and his optimistic view on life never escapes the audience.
12:43And we cannot get enough of this heartwarming tale.
12:47Number 6. Inception
12:49We may not be living in the Matrix, but how can we know if life is not all a dream within a dream manipulated by an antagonistic dream expert?
12:57Thanks to this classic, we ask that question every day.
13:01This is where I need you. You create the world of the dream. We bring the subject into that dream, and they fill it with their subconscious.
13:10Leonardo DiCaprio brings his best in this mind-bending thriller as the leading dream expert, with a crack team by his side.
13:17With more action than a Michael Bay film and more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan joint, who could have anything bad to say about this cinematic masterpiece?
13:25And who wouldn't want to watch it just one more time, if not only to understand it a little better?
13:31They had us in the back of a van. That explains the gravity shifts. You're in the back of a van right now. Keep going.
13:37Number 5. Mean Girls
13:39There's a 30% chance you're planning on watching this one again, right, Karen Smith?

13:50Oh, yeah, did we mention she was homeschooled in Africa?
13:53That's right, so if you thought your high school experience was stressful, Lindsay Lohan's in this film is ten times worse.
14:00Hey!
14:01Get in, loser! We're going shopping!
14:06With constant laughs, relatable teenage obstacles, and perceived antagonistic adult characters, this movie is rewatchable for everyone who has gone to high school and can now laugh about it.
14:16Love him, and he totally complimented you. That is so fetch. Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen.
14:23Number 4. The Princess Bride
14:25You want to watch this one again?
14:27Before she could steal Forrest's heart in Forrest Gump, Robin Wright's breakthrough performance in this movie made us love her, made us hate her, and made us cry.
14:37Who wouldn't want to see the dread pirate Roberts face off one more time?
14:40Who are you?
14:45No one of consequence.
14:47It's inconceivable that you would answer no, but maybe a battle of wits would suit your taste.
14:52With lovable characters like Andre the Giant's Fezzik, and an unforgettable grandpa-grandson relationship between Peter Falk and Fred Savage,
14:59this Rob Reiner classic shall never get too dusty on the shelf, as long as Roberts passes it on.
15:05That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying as you wish, what he meant was, I love you.
15:12Number 3. The Lion King
15:15When Disney makes an animated film, you expect it to just be for children, but this one is not.
15:28In a clever adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, this classic cartoon depicts the intricate and complex relationships of a Lion King,
15:34while portraying the harsh environment of the African desert and savannah.
15:38Families come back to this film time and again for great music, thanks Elton John,
15:43as well as for the deep themes packaged within the animated child-centric story.
15:47What?
15:48Hakuna Matata!
15:51There's so much admiration for this movie in the film community that we could go on for days,
15:56but we think the classic circle of life scene speaks for itself.
16:00Number 2. Pulp Fiction
16:02When we say re-watchable, you'd better not say what.
16:07Now say what one more goddamn time!
16:11With mind-blowing performances by Hollywood greats like Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, and Uma Thurman,
16:17this Quentin Tarantino classic is one you'll be pulling off the shelf forever.
16:21With a blend of black comedy, dark action, and plenty of pop culture references,
16:25the audience is left stunned as Tarantino delivers his special blend of gangster wit.
16:30His classics intertwine stories and non-linear narrative keep it fresh with every viewing.
16:34And let's not forget, if we watch it just one more time, we may be able to guess exactly what's in that 666 briefcase.

17:09No one does dry humor and intelligent comedic wit like the classic Monty Python troupe.
17:14And this film delivers like no other comedy.
17:17Arthur, king of the Britons.
17:21Oh, don't grovel.
17:24One thing I can't stand is people groveling.
17:26Sorry.
17:27And don't apologize.
17:28British humor plus a medieval setting equals one satisfied audience.
17:32With an endless list of quotable lines, a memorable cast of hilarious characters, and a killer rabbit,
17:38this is one side-splitting film to always come back to.
17:41Is she a witch?
