00:00In a bizarre attempt to gain notoriety, a streamer came up with the outlandish idea of
00:05live-streaming a cremation, but she never imagined that her bid for fame would accidentally capture
00:10a far more shocking moment. Just as the workers started the crematory furnace, agonizing screams
00:15echoed from within. A charred man burst out of the oven. This scene utterly terrified both of
00:26them. What they couldn't have known was that this was just the beginning. More dead people started
00:31to revive. Overnight, all the deceased climbed out of their graves. This large-scale resurrection of
00:37the dead utterly stunned the world. Fortunately, the resurrection event was confined to a single area.
00:43The local government designated December 18th as Resurrection Day. Statistics showed that 47 people
00:49came back to life that day. All the resurrected individuals had died within two weeks prior to
00:54Resurrection Day. Even more surprisingly, the resurrected were indistinguishable from normal
00:59people, and the government had temporarily found no evidence of them posing any threat to society.
01:04As for why this phenomenon of the dead returning to life occurred, neither the government nor relevant
01:09experts could provide an answer. Therefore, after a 35-day lockdown, the mayor decided to lift the
01:15restrictions, allowing the city to return to normal life. That evening, outside a bar, a woman was about
01:20to spend the night with a man she had just met, but her crucial moment was interrupted by a phone call.
01:25The woman, Dana, was a police officer, and the call informed her of an assignment. Reluctantly,
01:31Dana had to suppress her desire, leave the man, and drive off. A resident had reported that a horse
01:36was attacked by an unknown creature and died by the roadside. Dana went to investigate. Based on the
01:42wounds, she found it difficult to determine what animal caused them, but she did find some human-like
01:47teeth scattered nearby. Due to Resurrection Day, the police department was in chaos. Although the
01:53government claimed the resurrected posed no threat, a large number of people were still worried about
01:57their deceased neighbors suddenly returning and flocked to the police station to report it. Others,
02:02hoping for their family members to be resurrected, specifically came to the police station to inquire
02:07about the situation. The police station was overwhelmed. To investigate the resurrection events,
02:12a medical expert was specially dispatched to assist the police with cases related to the resurrected.
02:16But when Dana saw him, she was stunned. It turned out to be the very man she had met at the bar
02:21and planned to exercise with. The man, Rami, was from the Epidemic Prevention and Control Center.
02:27They were both a bit awkward seeing each other. They had planned a one-night stand,
02:30only to find themselves now colleagues. Dana was even more embarrassed because the police chief was
02:35her father. Her father clearly noticed the odd dynamic between them. Dana was feeling a bit
02:39disgruntled because, with the emergence of the resurrected, everyone else had relatively important cases,
02:45while she was assigned to investigate just a horse. But as she was idly daydreaming,
02:50the forensic examiner responsible for autopsies brought Dana a piece of news that made her spirit
02:55sore. The horse had been stolen. At this, the sharp Dana immediately grasped the underlying implications.
03:02This horse was definitely not a simple animal attack case. So, she took the unexpectedly found teeth to
03:07Rami. After Rami's examination, Dana received a shocking clue. These teeth were all from the same
03:13position. In other words, these teeth were newly grown. For ordinary people, this situation would
03:18be absolutely impossible. Rami knew Dana was very confused, so he showed her his latest discovery.
03:23The cell activity of the resurrected was several hundred times that of ordinary people. Therefore,
03:28these fallen teeth likely came from a resurrected individual. With this conclusion, Dana quickly
03:32deduced other terrifying possibilities. Some resurrected individuals possessed beast-like strength
03:38and might be highly aggressive, and these individuals had not reported to the authorities,
03:42but had gone into hiding. With this inference, Dana quickly checked the database and found that a
03:47criminal named Miller had indeed died in the nearby area during Resurrection Day, and this person was not
03:53on the list of resurrected individuals. This made Dana suspicious. Dana drove to the small house where
03:58Miller used to live, but after searching, she came up empty. Just as Dana thought she was being overly
04:03suspicious, an axe suddenly swung down at her from behind. It was Miller who had been hiding.
04:08Fortunately, Dana reacted in time and dodged the attack. It was then that Dana realized something was
04:16off. Based on her deduction, he should have been a supernaturally strong resurrected individual,
04:21but this old man clearly didn't have enough combat power, and Dana noticed that his teeth hadn't
04:27regenerated either. Dana had to admit that this Miller wasn't the resurrected person she was looking for.
04:32Although she found the wrong person, he was indeed a criminal sentenced to life imprisonment,
04:37so arresting him was perfectly fine. The lead had gone cold, and Dana had to start her
04:41investigation from scratch. One day she went out to conduct interviews, but unexpectedly ran into her
04:46sister Emma on the way. Emma had been out of touch for a month, and both their father and Dana had tried
04:51to contact her multiple times without success. She looked a bit disheveled, and Dana didn't know what
04:56had happened, but Emma wouldn't say anything when asked. As they were talking and walking back,
05:00Dana unexpectedly noticed a pickup truck parked by the roadside. She immediately remembered the
05:05tire tracks she had found at the horse's death scene that day, so she stopped and went to check.
05:10Just then, the owner of the pickup came out, but unexpectedly, as Dana was asking if they had seen
05:15a horse, she heard an unusual sound coming from the direction of the warehouse. At the same time,
05:20both individuals showed unusual expressions. Dana ignored their explanations and went directly into
05:25the warehouse to investigate. The scattered teeth on the ground indicated that this time,
05:30she had finally found the real culprit. But she didn't notice that from the rafters,
05:34a strange figure was watching her. Dana ran out of bullets, but they had no effect on the old woman,
05:59leaving Dana at a loss for what to do. Her sister Emma unexpectedly stood up again.
06:08Dana was shocked by her sister Emma's identity as a resurrected person. After all, both she and her
06:13father were police officers, yet they had no idea that their closest family member had mysteriously
06:18died and come back to life. But she didn't have time to thoroughly question Emma about what exactly
06:23happened because her colleagues were about to arrive. It wasn't the right time to reveal her
06:28sister's identity as a resurrected person, especially not to their police chief father. Therefore,
06:34Dana and her sister coordinated their stories, attributing the resolution of the violent old
06:38woman incident entirely to Dana. Soon, the police took the old woman to the epidemic prevention and
06:44control center. The old woman, named Arlene, was 82 years old. Rami was responsible for dissecting and
06:50studying the body. Everyone was encountering such a powerful resurrected individual for the first time.
06:55Therefore, this body could be of great significance for the study of resurrected people. So Rami planned
07:00to perform the dissection right there. However, they had still underestimated the abilities of
07:05the resurrected. Just as Rami went back to prepare the dissection tools, the old woman, missing half
07:10her head, was still alive. After handling the police station matters, Dana quickly found Emma. She needed
07:16to find out the truth about Emma's death as soon as possible, but her sister's answer surprised her.
07:21She didn't know how she died and had lost that part of her memory. Just as Dana was about to ask in
07:26detail, their father arrived with his grandson, so Dana had to find another time. Meanwhile,
07:31Rami was getting ready to dissect Arlene's body, and the chief naturally joined him.
07:37Seeing this, the chief immediately deployed all available police to cordon off the hospital.
07:42Outside, Dana unexpectedly spotted the resurrected Arlene. Having learned her lesson,
07:47she wisely didn't approach. She knew she couldn't handle her. As she retreated with her friend,
07:51she ran right into the chief and his team who were rushing in. Dana wanted to warn her dad,
07:56but the situation was too urgent for words. Arlene was extremely aggressive. The chief followed her
08:01trail and found her. Seeing the police arrive, she quickly fled with the infant. She was incredibly
08:06fast, disappearing before the chief and his team could react. Luckily, the baby's cries led them,
08:11and they eventually tracked her to the underground parking garage. However, to everyone's surprise,
08:15when they found the baby by following the cries, they discovered it was a different man holding
08:19the child. The chief recognized this man as Brian. Arlene had escaped right under the police's noses,
08:27fully demonstrating that the resurrected weren't as safe as presumed, and there might be more hidden,
08:32even stronger variants. The chief immediately suggested to the mayor that they activate the
08:37emergency plan, centralize all resurrected individuals, and deploy more police to search for
08:42those in hiding. But the mayor firmly opposed it, as it would be a significant expense he wasn't
08:47willing to cover. The chief had no choice but to assign more personnel to search for Arlene.
08:51Dana went to her sister Emma's place, ready to continue their unfinished conversation. But instead
08:56of finding Emma, she found a bag of contraband. Just then, Emma returned. Seeing the items in Dana's
09:02hand, Emma didn't hide anything. She admitted to having used contraband before, but since her
09:07resurrection, the drugs had miraculously lost their effect, and now she couldn't get addicted even if
09:12she wanted to. Still, Dana was suspicious of such a large quantity of contraband. Dana knew there had
09:17to be something more to it. But she didn't have time to focus on that. She needed to know the truth
09:21about Emma's death. It turned out that Resurrection Day was also their mother's death anniversary.
09:26Emma had gone alone to the scene of her mother's car accident. Feeling depressed, she took some drugs
09:31and then lost consciousness. When she woke up again, she was by the water. With such brief information,
09:36Dana was at a loss. Dana knew her sister was still hiding something from her,
09:40and even suspected Emma might have attempted suicide. But no matter the truth, she had to
09:45find it to prevent her sister from being hurt again. Since she still had work, Dana brought
09:49Emma directly to the police station, planning to investigate with Emma after her morning meeting.
09:54However, as soon as Dana left, Emma swiped her car keys and drove off. When Dana returned,
09:59Emma was long gone. Dana was helpless with her sister's temper, but the truth still needed to be
10:04pursued. This time, Dana focused on her sister's contraband. She learned from a colleague that such a
10:09large quantity of illegal drugs could never have come from a normal pharmacy. The colleague gave
10:13Dana a police file on drug users. Perhaps it would lead to something. With the file, Dana planned to
10:19go back to Emma's place to find her. But since her car had been driven off by Emma, she had to borrow
10:23one, eventually circling back to Rami. As the two were heading back, Emma had already appeared in a bar,
10:28and what she told Dana earlier was indeed a partial truth. Emma had woken up with a ring in her mouth,
10:34and the ring belonged to Aaron, Emma's university professor. The two had maintained an illicit
10:39relationship during her university days, but Aaron later chose to return to his family and
10:44abandoned Emma. But Emma had never forgotten him, and she hadn't gone to the incident location alone
10:48as she told Dana. She had an appointment with Aaron, so her accident was likely connected to Aaron.
10:53But due to the nature of their relationship, Emma hadn't told Dana the full story. Therefore,
10:57she was now confronting Aaron herself. But when they met, Aaron denied what happened that day.
11:01He said he never went to the appointment that day, and his ring was still on his hand. The ring
11:05Emma had was not his. Emma didn't know if he was telling the truth, but she didn't want to pursue
11:10it anymore, because she had always loved this man, and she was essentially still alive. So she had no
11:14choice but to leave, disappointed. At the same time, Dana confided in Rami about some painful events
11:20from her sister's past. Two years prior, Emma had been driving with their mother and Dana when her
11:25carelessness led to a severe car accident, resulting in their mother's death. This incident left Emma
11:30consumed by self-blame, which was also the reason she started using drugs. Because of this,
11:36Emma had rarely been in touch with Dana or their father, constantly avoiding reality.
11:40Emma was about to leave the bar when she overheard someone watching the news and commenting on the
11:44resurrected. The person believed all resurrected individuals should be killed again, as they were
11:49meant to be dead. Emma, already in a bad mood, had nowhere to vent her frustration, so the person
11:54became her target. Although Emma was resurrected, she didn't possess Arlene's immense strength and was no
11:59match for the tough woman. She could only passively endure the beating. The commotion attracted the
12:04bartender's attention, and recognizing Emma, she called Dana. Dana immediately told Rami to change
12:09direction and rush to the bar. By then, Emma had been helped outside by a young man named Roddy. He
12:14easily recognized Emma as a resurrected individual because he was one, too. He invited Emma to watch
12:19his performance. To avoid Dana, Emma readily accepted his invitation. When Rami and Dana arrived at the
12:25bar, Emma was long gone. Emma had left her a note asking Dana not to look for her. Dana, however,
12:30only grew more worried. Then Dana inadvertently noticed a familiar name on the drug user list,
12:35Emma's roommate. She returned to Emma's apartment and found her roommate smoking marijuana. The roommate
12:40had been repeatedly accused of drug dealing, so Dana was certain she had supplied the drugs to her
12:45sister. But unexpectedly, Dana's persistent questioning led to an unforeseen discovery.
12:50Dana learned that the contraband Emma had was all stolen. And not just that, it was stolen from a
12:59reclusive Romani family. This might have been the cause of her death. So Dana took a photo of her
13:04sister to the family for confirmation. Sure enough, her sister had been there and had done unwelcome
13:09things. However, the family didn't know if Emma had stolen the drugs. Dana quickly got another
13:14confirmation. The Romani family's son was her high school classmate, Andrew. Dana knew he
13:20had been a delinquent since high school, so it wasn't surprising he had so many drugs.
13:24Andrew became a prime suspect for Dana. Meanwhile, Romani's research continued. He sampled plants and
13:29water within a nine kilometer radius around the town, trying to find the truth behind the
13:34resurrections. But the results disappointed him. The samples showed no abnormalities, and the
13:39mystery of the resurrections remained unsolved. However, research on Arlene's brain tissue yielded
13:44new discoveries. To test his hypothesis, he had to return to Arlene's house for further
13:49investigation. For safety, the chief accompanied him. During the investigation,
13:53Romani clearly noticed that Arlene's son-in-law was the man who had narrowly escaped him earlier.
13:57Their relationship didn't seem as good as expected. It was clear that Arlene might have suffered abuse
14:02before her resurrection. The man was also very resistant to Romani's investigation,
14:07indicating something was definitely amiss. To avoid Dana, Emma followed Roddy, a fellow resurrected
14:12person, to his home. There, she had a good night's rest. To break the ice, Roddy told her about the
14:17cause of his death. Roddy's death was unexpectedly dramatic, almost comical. He had accidentally stabbed
14:23his palm with a knife while cutting fruit. But he didn't take it seriously, simply bandaging it
14:27himself. Unfortunately, the wound became infected, and he died just seven days later. But when Emma saw
14:33his hand, she suddenly realized, fatal injuries sustained before resurrection cannot heal. She had
14:39no injuries on her body, meaning she couldn't have died by jumping off the bridge, as there were no signs
14:44of a fall. Arlene brutally murdered her daughter, and her husband held a funeral for her. The chief
14:49also attended. But no one expected that as soon as the funeral began, Arlene suddenly appeared in the
14:54church. It turned out Arlene's purpose for coming was precisely to see her daughter, showing she hadn't
15:05intended to harm her. The man named Brian reappeared, carrying a can of gasoline. With Arlene completely
15:11unprepared, Brian set her on fire. Arlene gradually went silent amidst the flames. Surprisingly, even
15:17after being burned to ashes, Arlene wasn't dead. Her cells were slowly regenerating. Arlene's incident
15:23alarmed higher authorities, and the governor himself came to the police station. The chief and the mayor
15:28were now in severe disagreement. Due to the Arlene incident, the chief wanted to strictly centralize
15:34and manage all resurrected individuals, but the mayor adamantly opposed it. Rami then presented
15:39crucial research findings. He had discovered toxic substances in both Arlene's residence and within
15:45her body. This meant it was highly probable that Arlene's son-in-law had been poisoning her, which
15:50caused her abnormal mental state, making her lose control and accidentally kill her daughter. Rami
15:55concluded that resurrected individuals fundamentally do not engage in indiscriminate killing. With this
16:00report, the governor made a compromise. He instructed the chief to quickly locate, register, and closely
16:05observe all hidden resurrected individuals. If another situation like Arlene's occurred, they could be
16:10moved to a safe, centralized location if necessary. Roddy's performance began as scheduled, but as the
16:24crowd cheered for his act, two men appeared behind Emma, Andrew, and his brother. They had somehow found
16:29Emma. However, Emma managed to escape. After Emma left, Dana, who had been following Andrew,
16:35opportunely came out and apprehended his eager-to-fight brother. As expected, Dana found
16:39drugs on him, giving her a reason to arrest him. Back at the police station, Dana revealed her true
16:44purpose. She knew Andrew had three brothers, and all of them were troublesome, so she decided to release
16:50the man in front of her, in exchange for them no longer bothering Emma. But unexpectedly, during the
16:55negotiation, Dana learned that they had indeed not laid a hand on Emma. Her death had nothing to do
17:01with them. Meanwhile, Emma and Roddy were now on a bridge. To seek thrills, Roddy jumped directly off
17:06the bridge. Emma, encouraged by him, also leapt. While falling, Emma suddenly had a flash of memory.
17:11In fragmented recollections, the man named Brian had also appeared on the bridge. At the same time,
17:16Brian was released by the chief. After all, he hadn't truly harmed anyone else, and the chief had no
17:21grounds to arrest him. But the chief didn't know what Brian was planning, and he had already gathered
17:26a large number of followers. Dana still found Emma's hiding place, and by checking Emma's phone,
17:34she also learned about Emma and her teacher Aaron. To deflect Dana's excessive focus on that matter,
17:40Emma told her about seeing Brian on the bridge. Although the memory was still a bit hazy, Emma was
17:45certain it was the man from the TV news who had burned Arlene. Dana immediately took action,
17:49going to the locations Brian frequently visited. His followers were growing in number, with even
17:54guards at the door. Dana didn't want to cause trouble before clarifying the facts. Fortunately,
17:59Brian was quite cooperative. He admitted to seeing Emma on the bridge that day, but claimed he was
18:03just passing by, and hadn't harmed anyone. To prove his quick departure, Brian told Dana that he'd
18:08found a car nearby, and returned it to the rental agency. Without evidence, Dana had to leave,
18:13planning to verify Brian's story before taking further action. Meanwhile, the chief initiated a
18:18resurrected person identification campaign. Of course, many resurrected individuals were unwilling
18:23to reveal their identity, including the mayor's wife. It turned out she was also resurrected,
18:28which explained the mayor's consistently lenient attitude toward the resurrected. Despite her being
18:33the mayor's wife, the chief insisted on making her identity public. Dana also began investigating
18:39Brian, and surprisingly, he hadn't lied to her. However, Dana became suspicious of the vehicle found
18:44near the bridge, and sure enough, found some useful information in it. A hospital parking ticket.
18:49Following this lead, Dana found the driver in the hospital's registry. It was Aaron's wife.
18:54Dana was immediately perplexed. Aaron's wife had cancer, so a hospital visit was normal. But why was
18:59her car abandoned near the bridge? While Dana was investigating, Emma recovered new memories.
19:04Someone on the bridge tried to drug her with a towel. In her hazy memory, that person was wearing a
19:09ring on their hand. The very same ring Emma had woken up with in her mouth. Perhaps Aaron was still
19:14lying to her. He was the killer. But Aaron's ring was clearly still on his hand, and Emma had confronted
19:19him about it. However, Emma soon realized that the ring on Aaron's hand might not be real. So they went
19:24to a local store specializing in custom replicas. Indeed, someone had ordered an identical ring there.
19:30After Emma's persistent questioning, the store owner gave her the orderer's email,
19:34an email Emma was very familiar with. Aaron's teaching assistant. Over with Aaron,
19:39he was also feeling uneasy. Seemingly blackmailed by someone, making his life miserable. Emma
19:44completely lost hope in Aaron. She changed her hairstyle, intending to finally put an end to
19:50things with Aaron. Meanwhile, Rami had invited Dana to dinner, and they were on their way to the
19:54restaurant. Just then, Dana received a text message from Aaron. Dana immediately told Rami to detour to
20:00the woods. As Dana rushed to the woods, Emma had already tracked Aaron to the forest.
20:04Emma pulled out the ring and confronted him again. Finally, under Emma's pressure,
20:07he admitted to taking Emma away from the bridge that day, but Aaron insisted he didn't kill her.
20:12With things coming to this, Aaron was ready to reveal the truth. But then, something unexpected
20:16happened. Emma grabbed Dana's handgun and fired two shots, hitting the gunman in the shoulder,
20:25but it wasn't fatal, and the assailant escaped.
