00:00You are an example of why people should have to take tests before they're allowed to have children.
00:05Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the moments when litigants
00:08made Judge Judy absolutely lose it in the middle of a case.
00:12Ju-ly.
00:15July.
00:16July.
00:17J-U-L-Y.
00:19July.
00:22Number 10.
00:23Zippo.
00:23If there's one thing Judge Judy can't stand, it's a tenant who doesn't pay rent.
00:27In this case, plaintiff Leslie Wilson sues a former landlord for an illegal eviction.
00:32But the judge quickly susses out that Wilson did not pay rent for several months.
00:36You still live there in September?
00:38Yes, Your Honor.
00:39Did you pay rent?
00:40No, Your Honor.
00:41Did you live there in October?
00:43Yes, Your Honor.
00:44Did you pay rent?
00:45No, Your Honor.
00:46That's when things get a little crazy.
00:48The judge tells her she's getting Zippo, as in nothing, nada, zero dollars.
00:53Did you agree to pay your back rent of September, October, and November?
00:58No.
00:58The answer is no.
00:59No.
00:59No.
01:00I had an agreement with her, not the owner.
01:02I never even knew there was an owner until August.
01:04Miss Wilson, you're not getting any money.
01:06I want you to understand.
01:07Zippo.
01:08Not a penny from her.
01:08This isn't what Wilson wants to hear, as she argues with the judge, which is never a good idea.
01:14She breached an agreement.
01:15I thought she was the owner when I signed that leave.
01:17Miss Wilson, I don't care what you thought.
01:18It just sends Scheindlin into a spiral of repeating herself like a broken robot,
01:23screaming the word, nothing, until she's understood.
01:26Miss Wilson, you have to pay rent to somebody.
01:28So if you're not paying rent to her, then you pay rent to the owner.
01:31You don't become a squatter.
01:33Your Honor.
01:33Everybody pays rent.
01:34You're not getting any money.
01:35A Zippo.
01:36Number nine, photographic evidence.
01:38Judge Scheindlin is known for her hot temper and cool, methodical mind.
01:42She's going to get the truth out of you, whether you know it or not.
01:44The judge knows exactly who this defendant is.
01:47Why were you looking for him at work?
01:49For my son.
01:50Just to see my son.
01:52What were you doing at his work?
01:54To see if he was working.
01:55Oh, you're a cutie.
01:57Although she denies she damaged her ex's car, there's photo evidence, which delights the
02:01judge to no end.
02:02That's outrageous.
02:05Outrageous.
02:05I didn't do it.
02:06Yes, you did.
02:07I didn't do it.
02:07Your conduct is outrageous.
02:09She waves the photo in front of the defendant like she's trying to get a child's attention,
02:13repeating the words, at the car, until she can't deny it anymore.
02:18At the car.
02:18We also have an audio clip.
02:20At the car.
02:22Pictures.
02:24Somebody else.
02:26Maybe it was her.
02:26Sometimes, you just have to beat them down with logic.
02:29And if it were me who had this kind of temper and committed these kinds of acts of vandalism,
02:35for no reason, you would take away my custody.
02:39Right.
02:40Right.
02:40That's what would happen.
02:41Number eight.
02:42What did he just say?
02:43Judge Judy loves to make mincemeat of liars and scammers.
02:46But every now and then, one comes along who brings out her sadistic side.
02:50Defendant Davin Henderson mutters under his breath that he wouldn't be honoring her ruling.
02:55I want to get the dog.
02:55If I excuse you, I may step out.
02:58What did he just say?
02:58Wait here.
02:59Excuse me?
02:59I didn't say nothing, Your Honor.
03:00I want to know what he just said.
03:02I didn't say nothing.
03:02Where do you come from?
03:03I come from here.
03:04From here?
03:05Yes, Los Angeles.
03:06He's getting no money.
03:08Got it?
03:09Neither is she.
03:09The judge instantly locked in, threatening to withhold his appearance fee and plane ticket
03:14home until the return of the dog that he wrongfully took is secured.
03:17If you want us to pay for your return ticket, or anything else, or anything else, because
03:26we have a contract.
03:28Yes, Your Honor.
03:28You and this program, you abide by my decision, or we do a zippity-doo-dah for you, including
03:35getting you home.
03:36This is her at her scariest.
03:37She doesn't lose her temper, but she does drop all the formality of TV court shows and
03:43lets this guy know that if he wants to fly home, he's going to have to honor the verdict.
03:48A friend's name and address.
03:50I don't know the address.
03:51Well, that's too bad, because I hope you like Los Angeles.
03:54I don't know the address.
03:54We understand each other?
03:55Yeah.
03:56Because before you leave today, she's going to have somebody, or this person who's watching
04:03the dog is going to bring the dog to a neutral person if you want to go home.
04:08Number seven, throwing out a disruptive defendant.
04:10Courtroom misbehavior is a sure way to get Judge Judy not to listen to you.
04:14It's also the fastest way to get yelled at.
04:16The judge already had the interpreting co-defendant sitting down with the witness when she insists
04:21on getting up to interject once again.
04:23No, no, no, no, no.
04:23You have not let us talk.
04:24Did you hear what I said?
04:26I'm going to give you one, two, three.
04:27No, I'm sorry, but you're not letting us talk.
04:30This is not even what happened.
04:31Out.
04:31You got all the...
04:32Out.
04:33You have all the dates wrong, everything wrong.
04:35Out.
04:37Out.
04:38You want to sit down and be quiet?
04:40This woman has already demonstrated that she can't listen to reason.
04:43Instead, the judge just demands her to sit, like a dog.
04:46Well, why does that counterclaim?
04:48We just wanted her out.
04:49We didn't want nothing to do with her anymore.
04:50We don't ever see her again.
04:52We just wanted her out.
04:52Would you put her out, please?
04:53Oh my God.
04:54Sure.
04:54Can I just ask her five minutes?
04:56Put her out.
04:57Just come on.
04:57Two minutes.
04:58The judge shows an abnormal amount of forgiveness when she gives her another chance,
05:02only to get fed up and throw her out when she interrupts yet again.
05:06Out.
05:07I'm manipulating the situation.
05:08Out.
05:08With your question.
05:09Out.
05:10Come this way.
05:11This is ridiculous.
05:12Number six, don't speak.
05:14This case of an out-of-control girl and her adult sister picking fights with other schoolmates
05:19have judged Judy frustrated with an entire family.
05:21Let's get it real.
05:22Do you understand?
05:23Yes.
05:24Let's not talk about the girl two weeks before called to the principal's office.
05:27We're talking about an occurrence that occurred on the same day of the fight.
05:31Do we understand each other?
05:32Yes.
05:33Between the daughters with anger problems and a mother who's all but given up
05:36on parenting them, the judge is fed up throughout this whole story.
05:40Anything you want to tell me?
05:41You're 23 years old.
05:42Anything you want to tell me?
05:44No, Your Honor.
05:45Are these your children?
05:46Yes.
05:46Are these your children?
05:47Yes.
05:50At one point, one of the defendants has the bright idea to speak out of turn.
05:54Judge Judy gives her one of the scariest courtroom warnings of all time.
05:58My Honor.
05:58I don't speak!
05:59She tells people not to speak so often.
06:02This time, we felt her genuine anger deep in our souls.
06:06Number five.
06:07Don't interject unless I ask.
06:09A home rental goes wrong, and landlord Ellen Schneiderman has a good case.
06:14Her only problem is that she can't stop talking.
06:17That is not true.
06:18I don't want to retain $800.
06:19Don't talk to anybody else.
06:21I do not retain that amount.
06:23Stop.
06:24Judge.
06:25Listen to me.
06:26Oh, I'm fine.
06:26If what you do is interrupt, I'm just going to give him what he wants and throw you out.
06:30Do you understand?
06:31Yes.
06:31I was confused when I could talk.
06:33Chill.
06:34She's so bad at waiting her turn that the judge actually goes non-verbal at one point
06:38because she can't figure out exactly what she wants to shout at her.
06:41The most amazing thing about this case is how annoying the defendant acts,
06:45and still doesn't get thrown out of the courtroom.
06:47In fact, she ends up winning.
06:49And your honor?
06:49I didn't ask you anything.
06:52If her case wasn't as strong as it is,
06:54we get the feeling the judge would have ruled against her as quickly as possible
06:57just to get her out of earshot.
06:59What you're telling me, it was one room?
07:01Yes.
07:02And the entire pool area?
07:03And the entire pool area and all the furniture out there?
07:05What kind of...
07:06Don't you interject unless I ask you a question?
07:09Don't you understand?
07:11I'll tell you what I tell my grandchildren.
07:13You don't live in the lobby.
07:14You live in the apartment.
07:16Number four, super seriously.
07:17Shona C. Fay, with his smiley face tie and sob stories,
07:22sues his friend over an illegal eviction.
07:24Judge Judy has very little patience for his slippery approach to this case.
07:28But the bottom line is, I'm here to be truthful.
07:30Don't give me a bottom line.
07:31Listen to me.
07:32I don't want to hear a bottom line.
07:34I want to hear somebody telling me, with a certain amount of consistency,
07:37what they filed is a complaint, which is what the defendant...
07:40The complaint is that I bailed this dude out, and he didn't pay his bail.
07:43No.
07:44The complaint says a lot more than that, sir.
07:46Fay is pretty good-humored about the judge's low opinion of him.
07:49But once the case was over and she ruled against him,
07:52his utter disbelief at the decision drove her over the edge.
07:55Is it correct, Mr. Castro, that your girlfriend called the police?
07:59According to my girlfriend, no.
08:01She's no longer my girlfriend.
08:02Well, that's hearsay.
08:03Okay.
08:03Thank God.
08:04Did you?
08:05Thank God.
08:06Stop.
08:07I'm almost finished with you.
08:08You have to understand that.
08:10If you can't control yourself in here, I have no patience for that.
08:13I'm too old.
08:13Like most of the times when the judge loses it in court,
08:16it's usually when she's trying to shout someone else down.
08:19This was just unmitigated rage at this guy's antics.
08:22You take your case back to the small claims court where it came from.
08:25Do you understand?
08:26Seriously?
08:26No, not seriously.
08:28Super seriously!
08:30Number three.
08:31No, no, no.
08:32Did you know Judge Judy is a musical?
08:34Paul, the judge was clearly feeling herself this day.
08:37When the plaintiff has to produce the title to a Jeep,
08:39she opts for the judge's least favorite excuse.
08:42She was told that she didn't need it.
08:44Let me explain something to you.
08:46It's your car.
08:47Get it and go sell it.
08:49You're going to give him $2,400, which is what you owe him.
08:53Judge Judy immediately starts to launch into a marathon of no's,
08:57like she's scat singing in a jazz band.
09:00Where's the title?
09:01In the binder with all my other titles,
09:02but the DMV told me that this is what I needed to bring to sign it.
09:05No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
09:08I don't care what anybody told you.
09:10I want the title.
09:12This is like watching Judge Judy riff on a theme.
09:15When the woman repeats herself later on in the case,
09:17we almost get a reprise.
09:19Honestly, is there a remix of this yet?
09:21Why didn't you bring the title today?
09:23Because we were told that this is what we need for him to have a new title
09:27and release his liability for me.
09:28Number two.
09:29Close your mouth, sir.
09:31Even Judge Judy isn't immune to letting the intrusive thoughts win sometimes.
09:35A car accident case sees a defendant shocked to be blamed for the collision.
09:39You hit him.
09:40He's in such disbelief that his mouth is hanging open for most of the case.
09:44Usually, Scheindlin dresses litigants down with her words.
09:47Close your mouth, sir.
09:47Just say yes or no.
09:48This is the front of your car.
09:50That's the front of my car.
09:51Yes, ma'am.
09:51But here she just mimics the guy's dumb look right to his face.
09:54It's the kind of thing that the rest of us wish that we could do on a daily basis
09:58when someone annoys us.
09:59When you get a golden opportunity like this, you can't pass it up.
10:03Now you can step back.
10:04It's clear from the evidence that you hit him, sir.
10:06Judgment for the plaintiff in the amount of $250.
10:09We're done.
10:09Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel
10:12and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
10:15You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
10:19If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
10:23Number one, you're a moron.
10:28Most of the time, Judge Judy can rein in her righteous anger.
10:31Even if she yells, she can dial it back when she offers an explanation.
10:34And you told her that there was a chance that he wasn't her father.
10:37Yes.
10:38And you did that because I don't believe in keeping secrets from my kids.
10:42Yes.
10:42You're a moron.
10:43In this early case, she's so disgusted with the defendant, Kathleen Kreffmeyer,
10:47that she rants at her for a solid minute.
10:50Why in the world would you tell a six-year-old child
10:54that somebody who she believed was her father,
10:57who it turns out is her father, might not be her father?
11:01Kreffmeyer confesses to telling her young daughter that her father is not her biological father.
11:05Not only was this untrue, but the daughter was far too young to hear that information.
11:09You don't tell her first because you feel as if you have to get it off your chest
11:14that you were messing around.
11:16He was messing around first, your honor.
11:18Who cares? He didn't become pregnant.
11:21As far as I know, that's not a possibility yet.
11:24Judge Judy's fury is unmatched here.
11:26She calls Kreffmeyer a moron and explains, in agonizing detail, why she's a failure.
11:33Every time we think she's done, she gets right back to screaming at the dumbfounded defendant.
11:38A moron!
11:40And you still don't even get it.
11:42You still don't get it.
11:43Which moments did we miss? Tell us in the comments.
11:48You are about to enter the courtroom of Judge Judith Scheindlin.
11:54The people are real.
11:56The cases are real.
11:58The rulings are final.
11:59This is Judge Judy.
