00:00Oke, Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, salam, om swastiastu, namun berdaya, salam kebajikan, sorry Steve, Allah, saya ingin bahasa first.
02:25Mungkin, I'll give the floor to you, Mr. Forbes, to give me some remarks a little bit. Please.
02:31Thank you very much, Minister.
02:35We had a very fascinating luncheon with your President today,
02:39and we were very impressed.
02:42We're having, as was mentioned, our Global CEO Conference here in October.
02:48The President will be there,
02:50and it will be an opportunity for the investing world,
02:55business leaders of the world,
02:56to get a sense of the great future that lies ahead for Indonesia.
03:01Already, some very good things have been happening,
03:04agricultural production up and other good things,
03:08and so we look forward to having the world recognize
03:11what is happening in Indonesia.
03:16And we think our forum, which we hold each year,
03:18we've done it for 23 consecutive years,
03:21in various cities around the Asian area.
03:26We had one in Indonesia in 2013, one in 2016.
03:32Now we have one this coming October.
03:35And we think the progress that Indonesia has made,
03:39but also, more importantly,
03:40the progress that Indonesia will make,
03:43will be a story of global significance,
03:45and I think inspiration to other nations.
03:48And what your president is doing is an inspiration,
03:53and so we look forward to a very great conference in October
03:56with all these business leaders,
03:59but also, too, to witnessing firsthand
04:03Indonesia becoming a great global power.
04:07And so it's an exciting time ahead,
04:09and we're glad to be here to chronicle it
04:12and also provide a platform for the world to see
04:15what we're witnessing, a great future for a great country.
04:18What is your, what is the historical opinion
04:29about Indonesia, and why do you choose
04:35to stop in your forum?
04:38Well, he's making great progress on deregulation.
04:43Agricultural output is moving up.
04:47The fight against corruption,
04:49making business smoother and easier to do in Indonesia,
04:54removing unnecessary obstacles
04:56is always a formula for success.
05:00Very fact-oriented, very scientific-oriented.
05:03It's a kind of focused leadership
05:05one wants to see in any country,
05:07and we're seeing it here in Indonesia today.
05:11So we're optimistic.
05:13And sometimes it takes an outsider
05:15to realize the good things that are happening
05:19more than those who live with it every day.
05:21As before, the talk about Ankara,
05:24you mentioned about Indonesia as a powerhouse.
05:28Do you think it's happening now?
05:29Is it the president's president,
05:31or is it already happening?
05:35Yes, beforehand, about this new world.
05:38What are there from the things that you cited,
05:41aside from President Jalilu?
05:43Well, we think that Indonesia's obviously made progress
05:46with democracy since the late 1990s.
05:50But we think that the reforms that are happening now
05:54will enable Indonesia to take off even more.
05:58It's like a rocket ship.
05:59It gets slowly off the platform
06:02and then starts to really move ahead.
06:05We think Indonesia is a rocket ship
06:07that is reaching full speed
06:10in terms of removing barriers to business
06:13and enabling people to improve their lot in life.
06:16So, and we think that being the size of the country that it is,
06:21that it'll be an inspiration for other countries,
06:24not only in Asia, but around the world.
06:27We're entering a difficult time.
06:29We're glad that an agreement was reached on tariffs
06:33so that people know what the rules of the road are.
06:37But we think that our trade with Indonesia will be growing.
06:41And we look forward to a very fruitful relationship
06:45between the U.S. and Indonesia.
06:48Indonesia is a nation that holds hope for the future.
