00:00Oh no, that was close.
00:13Thank you doctor.
00:16Oh no little kitty, don't thank me.
00:20Instead thanks to my brain.
00:23Oh, hello friends.
00:25Yes, you heard it right.
00:27The reason we can do all these awesome things in our lives
00:31is due to an essential organ in our body called the Brain.
00:37So today, let us learn about this vital subject
00:42that helps us to learn about the vital subjects
00:46and explore the amazing world of the Brain.
00:52Zoom in.
00:54Your Brain is basically the boss of your body
00:59as it controls everything you do.
01:02Things like learning, thinking, feeling, dancing,
01:07even breathing and your heart rate.
01:11It's due to your brain, you can pull pranks on your siblings and friends.
01:17And you won't believe.
01:19But not even super computers can match its powerful ability
01:24to download, understand and react to the volume of information
01:29coming to you through your senses.
01:32So, how does the brain manage all this?
01:37Different parts of your brain control different functions.
01:41So, let us start with the largest part called the cerebrum
01:46that takes up to 85% of your brain.
01:50It's actually the thinking part of your brain and controls your muscles.
01:57It's due to the cerebrum, you can walk, dance, play games
02:02and most importantly, learn about various subjects on...
02:10The Dr. Binoc show. Isn't it cool friends?
02:15Next comes a relatively small portion, but an essential part of your brain
02:20called the cerebellum, which helps you to maintain your balance
02:24and regulates motor movements.
02:27That means, without the cerebellum, you would be falling all over the place.
02:34Now comes a small, but a mighty force to be reckoned with.
02:39The brain stem, that is connected to the spinal cord.
02:44It controls those areas of your body that you don't need to work on.
02:49Like breathing, maintaining your heart rate,
02:53digesting food etc without us even knowing about it.
03:00Then comes a little almond shaped area of your brain called the amygdala.
03:06It is responsible for emotions, survival instincts
03:11and helps to store memories of events.
03:15Wow! A small part with big responsibilities.
03:21Trivia time!
03:23Did you know that your brain generates about 12 to 25 watts of electricity?
03:30That is enough to power a low voltage LED light.
03:35Also, scientists have recently discovered that for a period of time,
03:40after you have exercised, your body produces a chemical
03:44that makes your brain more willing to learn.
03:48So, if you are stuck on some difficult homework,
03:51go out and run, play or exercise around for a while.
03:56Then tackle the problem again.
03:58You might discover that you are much more able to solve it.
04:02It's question time!
04:05So friends, today's question is,
04:08Which is the largest part of your brain?
04:11Do write your answer in the comment section below,
04:14to be part of the peekaboo family and to show how fit and fine is your brain.
04:21Until next time, it's me, Dr. Binox, zooming out!
