One person killed in Odesa as Russia launches 300 drones at Ukraine

Russian air strikes on Ukraine overnight into Saturday have killed one person in Odesa. The strikes come as Russia has intensified its military offensive in Ukraine, with analysts warning of potential further escalation.

00:00Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles at Ukraine overnight,
00:06killing at least one person and injuring several others.
00:11The Black Sea port city of Odessa was struck by 20 drones and a missile,
00:15sparking a fire in an apartment block.
00:18Five people were rescued from the building, including one woman who later on died.
00:24A series of explosions were also heard in Pavlorad in the Dnieper region,
00:29damaging critical infrastructure and a residential building.
00:32According to local authorities,
00:34it was the largest attack on the city since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
00:39Moscow has been recently intensifying its long-range attacks on Ukraine,
00:44often firing more drones in a single night than it did during entire months in 2024.
00:50Meanwhile, Russia's defense ministry said it shot down 71 Ukrainian drones overnight,
00:5613 of which were reportedly shot down as they approached Moscow.
