03:39Далее, я получил пару followers.
03:40Да, я получил пару followers на Инстаграм.
03:45Это новое, но тоже нормально.

07:29ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
07:59So if you're Hayden Deegan, you want to get a bounce back.
08:02And for the other guys, when the door opens, you've got to walk through it.
08:05Actually, when the door opens, you've got to kick it open and walk through it
08:09because I don't think Hayden Deegan is going to let anybody get anything done.
08:13So they know what they've got to do.
08:14Looks like we've got some trouble on the track.
08:16Yeah, yeah, one rider cannot get the bike fired.
08:19Mechanics are moving away from the start gate because the gate is about to drop.
08:23So those are the KTM keys to the moto.
08:25There's the fly racing 30-second board.
08:27Four straight hours of racing coming your way.
08:29Here on Peacock, 450 Moto 1 will be up after this.
08:34And each class runs two motos.
08:3630 minutes, two laps to distance, and 40 riders on the gate.
08:40Let's get it started here at Spree Creek.
08:48Jeremy Martin, are you kidding me?
08:51Jeremy Martin in what will be his retirement race in his home track, the whole shot.
08:56If you can hear this crowd right now, they are going nuts.
09:03And we just want to hear it.
09:09You couldn't have scripted that better.
09:12Seth Hadmaker and Shimoda, second and third.
09:16Yeah, good start by Joe Shimoda.
09:18This is exactly what he did last weekend.
09:20Just kind of got there, let the race go.
09:22Seth has been fast all day long.
09:23But, man, I can't believe how loud this crowd is right here.
09:26I feel like we're in the Supercross.
09:27And he was quick, right up at the top in qualifying.
09:30Third fastest, so he has speed.
09:32The two-time champion of this class in his final run leads.
09:51That is poetic.
09:55But now Hadmaker looking to make the pass.
09:57He's setting himself up on the inside.
09:58Yeah, Seth knows this might be an opportunity.
10:01J-Mart, he needs to go down the inside.
10:03Well, I shouldn't tell him.
10:04He knows everywhere to go in this racetrack.
10:06But he should have went down the inside.
10:08I knew Seth was going to try to make that move.
10:10But let's see if Jeremy can slingshot around the outside.
10:12Get back towards the inside over here.
10:14Get him a lap.
10:16Almost.
10:17That's the old-school corner speed there from Martin.
10:19Not quite enough this time.
10:21Seth Hadmaker locks down the number one spot.
10:23It's love hearing the crowd here.
10:28Yeah.
10:28So, Jeremy was going to race a couple rounds for his old team here.
10:34Star Racing Yamaha crashed at Hangtown.
10:37Said, I'll be back for one more.
10:39And he's making the most of it at Millville.
10:41And as you mentioned earlier, Jeremy has been quick all day long.
10:46So, it's not like he's one of those guys that should fade back.
10:49You know, he has the speed.
10:50He might get a little nervous.
10:51But, hey, it's good to see him up there.
10:53And then that's Hayden Deegan making his way up into that fourth place right now.
11:01Deegan.
11:02Modes have been right behind him.
11:03Haram.
11:04But you've got to watch Shimoda there.
11:05Last week's winner, who's up ahead of Deegan in third.
11:08Yeah, I'm looking for Levi Kitchen.
11:11He's down in 14th right now.
11:12Oh, boy.
11:13Him and Tom Vialce, 13th and 14th.
11:15Not the start they wanted to get.
11:16But you can see these guys starting to get spread out.
11:18But if I'm Hayden Deegan, I'm in a great spot.
11:22He's probably going to try to make the move on Joe Shimoda early in the race
11:25and try to get him out of his normal routine.
11:28Because as this race goes on, that number 30 on the HRC,
11:31I think he will get better.
11:33And with the confidence from last weekend,
11:34I feel like he actually believes he can beat Hayden Deegan.
11:37Boy, he's going to get a shot right now.
11:38Yeah, Shimoda usually gets better, as he says,
11:41if the track gets rougher later in the moto later in the day.
11:43So right now, though, Deegan is going to put the attack on.
11:50And just up ahead, you see Martin and Hammacher.
11:55JT.
11:56Watching Hayden Deegan here.
11:57I just wanted to see if he would be able to push.
11:59You know, he's dealing with that injury.
12:01Just not sure how sore he's going to be.
12:03He didn't ride all week.
12:04He went through those qualifying sessions.
12:05Obviously looked great.
12:06But the upside here, the positive signs, he's willing to flatland jumps.
12:10He's willing to push and get way out of his comfort zone.
12:14As you see him make the move there on Shimoda,
12:16that is a great sign for the number one that he's feeling a lot better than he did a week ago.
12:21Yeah, JT.
12:21And actually talking with Brent Duffy, his mechanic,
12:23they actually added some foam to the bottom side of those handlebars
12:27just in case anything were to go wrong with his leg, if it was a bump it.
12:31They just want to avoid any extra hurt for him.
12:34Of course, after last weekend, there was some questioning as to what was really going on.
12:38It turned out, in talking with Brian Deegan earlier today,
12:41there was an issue with the fascia in the leg.
12:43A lot of bruising, a lot of swelling,
12:45but nothing that's going to be damaging long-term.
12:48What a move by Deegan on that outside.
12:51I mean, he just saw what happened right in front of him.
12:53But I think for Joe Shimoda, like, he has –
12:56Hayden's been fast all day long, and Joe wasn't the fastest,
12:59but he's within a second.
13:00So for him, just follow him.
13:02You know, Hayden, Deegan going around you is not surprising.
13:05You just don't want to lose toe.
13:07And if Hayden makes a move, you need to make a move
13:09because I would say that's been Joe's only weakness is
13:12Hayden gets through the pack a little bit quicker,
13:14and the next thing you know, Joe has to, you know, make those passes,
13:17and that gap's already gone.
13:18But you can see Joe's even picked up the intensity
13:20because he sees Hayden trying to get away as well.
13:23Yeah, Joe's sticking with him.
13:25There's Martin up ahead,
13:26and Hamaker has about a three-second lead on this pack.
13:30And then a little further back, bottom box,
13:32it's Bozeman and Herup.
13:34That's next in line, fifth and sixth.
13:36Jordan Smith, Max Follin, Drew Adams,
13:38Garrett Marchbanks, round out the top ten kitchen,
13:42still 14th, last year's winner.
13:45Yeah, I'm curious to see how hard,
13:48you being this close to the front, you know,
13:49this early in the race, if he can run this pace.
13:52And the guy in front of him, Michael Moesman,
13:54last weekend he had a great ride getting on the podium,
13:57and I think for him, he's been riding good,
13:59just has some bike issues.
14:02So if he could just stay with them,
14:03maybe they could just close up
14:04or at least stay in that top five,
14:06but good ride so far.
14:07Good ride by Shimoda,
14:09the way Deegan stormed around him,
14:11but he was able to get back to him,
14:13but then just that little S-turn section there,
14:16now Deegan opens up a couple of bike lengths.
14:18Yeah, and I think this is a difference.
14:19Joe takes a little bit to get going,
14:21and that little bit of intensity
14:22is where that gap going.
14:23Hayden's willing to go down to that corner,
14:25slam into it, bike wide open.
14:27Joe's still trying to warm up,
14:28and that's what I mean.
14:29He needs to just stay on Hayden,
14:31not let him get too far,
14:32because as the race goes on,
14:34Hayden won't be able to hit those corners that hard,
14:36and I think it plays into Joe's hand,
14:38but he's got to stay with him.
14:44As for Deegan now trying to track down Jeremy Martin,
14:47that is poetic in its own way as well.
14:48Not only has Martin put together
14:50one of the best 250 careers ever,
14:52he's top five in nearly every statistical category
14:55in this class,
14:56but he and also Cooper Webb at that time
14:59really kick-started this team's run of dominance.
15:02They were not a team that was winning a lot of races
15:03or any titles until 2014.
15:06When those two came out,
15:07they were going one and two consistently.
15:09That kicked off two straight titles for Martin,
15:11and that run by Yamaha
15:13has continued through this day with Deegan.
15:16And now they're battling on track
15:18as the Kawasaki boys
15:19who always seem to be near each other
15:21battle in the bottom box.
15:23It's March Banks-Adams.
15:25Yeah, and I think it's good to see Drew Adams up here.
15:27Look, he's had a good pace in qualifying,
15:30and yeah, just going back to Jeremy,
15:32as you were saying,
15:32like, it felt like it came out of nowhere.
15:34Yes.
15:34And for two years, I mean,
15:35this dude was dominant,
15:37you know, really getting his thing
15:38and looked really comfortable.
15:39Looked like the guy that we're watching on the screen.
15:41So, no surprise.
15:43It's been a few years,
15:44so that memory, it's there,
15:45but it's been a while since he had,
15:47but I think he's enjoying it,
15:49having a good time.
15:49And he looks good.
15:50He's not holding Hayden up,
15:52and he's keeping Seth right in check.
15:53So, he does have some pace going,
15:56but this Hayden Deegan,
15:57Hayden's got this outside figured out.
15:59See if he makes up for some time on him.
16:03I'm going to show you the career stats
16:05for Jeremy Martin there.
16:07And you see,
16:08he's only 16th all-time in starts,
16:10so when you're 5th all-time in Moto wins,
16:124th in overall wins,
16:14and 2nd in podiums,
16:15that says a lot
16:16about the kind of damage he did in this class,
16:19not just the two title years,
16:21but year after year as winning,
16:22Moto's was battling for the title.
16:25But he's about to pass that baton on.
16:27A little further back in the bottom box,
16:29you see Tom Vial has now caught those Kawasaki's.
16:32He's an 11th.
16:34Yeah, and Jeremy's actually starting to close in
16:36on our leader, so...
16:37Wow!
16:38He's about a half a second faster than Seth Handmaker.
16:40Made a little mistake right there,
16:42and as I mentioned in his 250 class,
16:44this track's really fast,
16:45so any mistakes in the corner,
16:47you can lose a lot of time,
16:48especially on the bottom of Mount Martin.
16:50But Jeremy, I believe if he stays here,
16:53he's only going to get more confidence.
16:54We know he's in shape,
16:56and he knows he's done a few laps
16:58around this racetrack as well.
17:00Well, on the right side of this section
17:02is the house he grew up in,
17:04and it's his parents on the track.
17:05Back to JT.
17:07Well, James, I just wanted to add on
17:09to what you were saying there,
17:10and I agree so much.
17:11The toughest part, in my opinion,
17:12for J-Mart is to match intensity early,
17:15because the older you get,
17:16that's just a really hard thing to maintain.
17:19So you see him start to come back towards Handmaker.
17:22And you think about J-Mart,
17:22he's been training for marathons,
17:24so fitness shouldn't really be an issue.
17:26And if he can hang in there early,
17:28this guy might be in a little bit of trouble late.
17:30Yeah, no, I agree.
17:32I mean, the older I get,
17:33I used to hop out of bed.
17:34Now I've got to hop out of,
17:35like, roll out of bed,
17:37then slowly get the coffee,
17:38and then we start getting it.
17:40But J-Mart, he's definitely figuring it out,
17:42and you can tell he's starting to get more confidence,
17:44and, I mean, how can you not?
17:46You're holding off Hayden Deegan,
17:47you're closing on the lead,
17:48and you know this place like the back of your hand.
17:52So, win this motor, go home, drop the trophy off,
17:55come back and hang out for the motor right here.
17:58Look at the lap time.
17:59So, last three,
18:01Handmaker was faster twice,
18:02but the last time around,
18:04Martin was quicker,
18:05and I believe that's going to hold here.
18:06He continues to close the gap.
18:09Handmaker's career best in pro motocross is a third.
18:12He had a high point a couple of weeks ago,
18:15and he hasn't led laps since 2022 until right now.
18:20Yeah, one thing Jeremy's always been strong at his whole career is corner speed.
18:25When he's in the zone, man,
18:27this guy can ride ruts in corners,
18:29and that's where I see him closing in on Seth Handmaker.
18:32I think the biggest thing for Jeremy,
18:34you've got to wonder where his mindset is.
18:36Is he worried about just trying to get out here and lead this race,
18:38or is he actually concerned about getting a finish?
18:40Because I believe a finish, a top five,
18:42is in his wheelhouse pretty easy,
18:44but you know he wants to go out with a bang,
18:46and you just want to make sure you manage those expectations
18:49and not really throw this thing away.
18:51But he looks more comfortable to me than even Seth,
18:54and he's starting to get away from Hayden as well.
18:57You've got to manage the expectations for his team 2-0.
19:00Bobby Reagan, the team owner, is going to get excited and say,
19:03hey, you're this fast, can you maybe come back again next week
19:07at Watsugel?
19:08They already tried that at the beginning of the year,
19:10and then the big crash at Hangtown
19:12kind of dampened any of the idea of him being back
19:15as a full-time racer, but what a way to go out.
19:18Going to be one and done is the plan here.
19:20But I don't know, it might be one,
19:22as in winning and done.
19:24Yeah, go one and done.
19:26That's fine enough.
19:28But yeah, Jeremy, he's got to calm down.
19:29He saw you overshot that corner,
19:31but so far, so good, JT.
19:33Yeah, just watching, Jeremy.
19:34Remember, he was in the booth with you, Weege,
19:37here in 2022, a part of the Legends Tour
19:39that we did that summer.
19:40James, your first race was Bud's Creek that year.
19:42So now the question is,
19:44James, if Bobby gives you a call this week,
19:46are you suiting up for Washougal?
19:47Because it's going pretty well so far.
19:49Yeah, well, let's see how Jeremy finishes his moto.
19:52If he gets out there and wins,
19:54I'm still not coming out.
19:55All right, spoiler alert.
19:57Yes.
19:59You're sure, Stu, we can encourage you,
20:01like the pit boards are for Jeremy.
20:02They're saying, just breathe and focus forward
20:05and talking to his mechanic.
20:06He's saying they know the track.
20:08He knows how to get the job done.
20:09He just has to make sure he's not looking behind him.
20:12Yeah, I think Jeremy right now is looking in front of him.
20:16I think for him, the closer he gets to Seth,
20:19then I see him starting to make some mistakes
20:21because I think he's getting excited,
20:22realizing that he's this close.
20:24If he just kind of calms down, let this race go,
20:27I mean, who knows?
20:28He might have a chance, but, again,
20:31he actually looks really, really good to me.
20:33The only time I see him making mistakes
20:34is when he does get that close.
20:36He gets excited.
20:37He almost runs off the racetrack,
20:39but Jeremy Martin is figuring it out,
20:40and every time he does that,
20:41he pulls away and closes in on that gap at the lead.
20:44What's the take on Deegan here in third?
20:46Sometimes he closes,
20:47but then sometimes Martin actually pulls away
20:49from the champion.
20:50Yeah, I think it's because how good Jeremy's rotting.
20:53You know, Deegan's, Joe's still close to Hayden,
20:57so it's not like Hayden's just sitting back.
20:59He doesn't want to have to deal with Joe
21:00at the end of the moto,
21:01so Hayden's trying to get around him,
21:03but Jeremy is rotting really good,
21:05and Hayden closes in when Jeremy makes that mistake,
21:07so more about what Jeremy's doing,
21:09but Hayden does have a really good line right here.
21:11I think these outsides are still working for him,
21:14and it looks like Jeremy's going to let him go through.
21:17Wow, that happened in a hurry,
21:18and, yeah, not much fight from the number six.
21:20And so Deegan now into second.
21:22By the way, we did talk to Jeremy yesterday.
21:25He just took a face full of roost.
21:26He took a cleaner yesterday
21:27when we asked him about this weekend.
21:31It's entered my mind that it's my last race.
21:33It's bittersweet, right?
21:34And I think the biggest thing that I'm, like,
21:36holding on to and been thinking about a lot is
21:38I was four years old when I first learned how to ride,
21:41and it was on a PW50 with my brother and my dad
21:44right back there in front of the house.
21:46You know, it wasn't even on the track.
21:47It was in the field that the people are camping on right now,
21:50and, you know, 2013, I led my first laps,
21:55and I remember the crowd just erupting,
21:57and it was insane.
21:58I won't ever forget it to this day.
22:02And it was very similar to that two-day
22:04when he got the lead with that hole shot.
22:07Now back to third,
22:08and Deegan going to put the attack on Hammacher,
22:11and Jeremy looks over
22:12to measure the gap between himself and Shimoda.
22:17Set it to JT again.
22:18Jeremy here, you know,
22:20no one's more comfortable than him here.
22:22We know that,
22:22but I'll tell you,
22:23I would actually rather see him behind Deegan.
22:26I was watching him there.
22:27He was pressing really hard there to try to catch Seth.
22:30The front stepped out multiple times,
22:32so I think at this part of the race,
22:34you're approaching halfway.
22:35Settle in a little bit.
22:36Maybe look at where Hayden's going.
22:38Let the race unfold,
22:39because he was getting really close
22:41to making a critical mistake there.
22:42You can see he's relaxed a little bit.
22:45Do you see Hammacher go down there?
22:46Yes. Good call, JT.
22:47We saw the yellow flags,
22:48and then the green motorcycle.
22:50So now Deegan is in the lead.
22:52Martin second.
22:53Shimoda going to get by as well.
22:55And truthfully,
22:56that should give, you know,
22:58Jeremy more confidence,
22:59because those guys were pushing.
23:01Steph was pushing it.
23:02So, yeah, you start to wonder,
23:04is that a little bit of arm pump
23:05from not racing,
23:06or he's in a weird spot,
23:08Jeremy that is,
23:09because he doesn't want to get in the mix
23:10and get in his title
23:11and hurt his teammate,
23:12but I do believe he has the pace,
23:14and let's see what happens,
23:15how he reacts to this,
23:16but still a good, strong rod.
23:19So then Hammacher, yes,
23:20behind Shimoda at this point,
23:22and we have the Hammacher
23:24crash on a replay here.
23:26Now, this is a very fast section.
23:28Seth goes in here.
23:29Now, you can see him
23:30starting to lose the front end.
23:32Actually, a pretty good save,
23:33because he started losing the front end.
23:34It hooked up,
23:35but luckily for him,
23:36he was able to get the front tire
23:37off that jump.
23:38Otherwise, he would have had
23:38a big high side,
23:39so tip over.
23:41It's going to be costly
23:41for losing that position,
23:43but he was able to get back up
23:44behind Joe Shimoda
23:45on a bad ball.
23:48Yeah, you're saying a good save.
23:50He still crashed,
23:51but he saved it
23:52from what could have been
23:52a big one.
23:54Yeah, it could have been
23:54a lot worse.
23:55You can see when he came in there,
23:56that front end start tucking,
23:58knifing on him,
23:59and it's because of how fast
24:00they're going in that section,
24:01but because that jump ran out,
24:02his front tire got off.
24:04It didn't hook him
24:04and slam him down,
24:05so he's going to be bummed out,
24:07but it would have been
24:07a lot worse.
24:08If that thing would have
24:09high side of him
24:10off that ramp.
24:12Yeah, you go back 2013,
24:13Jeremy Martin mentioned
24:14leading for the first time here
24:16when he was a rookie.
24:17I think that was the same year
24:18Ken Rockson had a similar
24:19crash to Handmaker,
24:20but on the bad side,
24:22and he went flying,
24:24and it was a brutal one.
24:26Deegan now starting to pull away
24:28and giving a look back.
24:30Halfway through this one,
24:31Monster Energy available now
24:32at Quick Trip,
24:34and riding all the wrongs
24:36from Redbuddy is the number one
24:37right now.
24:39Yeah, now Jeremy's starting
24:40to settle down.
24:41Now he's got that pace,
24:42but you can see how fast
24:43they're coming into this.
24:44You get those braking bumps.
24:45All those bikes are going in,
24:47so.
24:47But you look at the whoops.
24:50That's where Deegan
24:50has made his time.
24:52Yeah, well, I believe
24:52where Hayden's really
24:53making his time
24:54is the end of the second set.
24:56He's going outside,
24:57and he just carries
24:58his momentum around this.
24:59Like, he still has the
25:00sweeping these corners.
25:02Got more,
25:02a lot more momentum,
25:03and when these guys
25:04are starting to break,
25:05Hayden's on the gas
25:06because he's going around
25:07this jump,
25:07and he's just carrying
25:08that momentum out,
25:09which Jeremy followed that line,
25:12but you can see the gap
25:13that he's able to pull.
25:16Looks like Shimoda
25:16now closing on Martin.
25:18Yeah, Jeremy almost lost
25:19the front end right there.
25:22I think when Hayden
25:23was looking back
25:24over that finish line,
25:25he was looking at Joe,
25:26not necessarily Jeremy.
25:27He wants to see
25:28what that number 30 is
25:29because he knows
25:30he's going to be strong
25:30for the end of the boat.
25:31Katie?
25:33Yeah, Stu,
25:34they were talking about
25:34how good Joe's fitness
25:36was here this week.
25:37His pace has been good.
25:38Of course, those starts
25:38is what he needed to work on,
25:39which he had a decent one
25:41out there.
25:41However, they said
25:42around this track,
25:44the place to really
25:45keep an eye on
25:45are the hills.
25:47Joe was saying
25:47that this is one
25:48of his favorite tracks,
25:49and for that very reason,
25:50he feels he can make up
25:51a whole lot of time.
25:52So you two up there
25:52in the booth, JT,
25:54keep an eye on the hills
25:54and see if that is
25:55where we're seeing Joe
25:56make some of these moves
25:57here, moving forward.
25:59Watch it right now, Katie.
26:01Tries to close on Martin,
26:03and it is, yeah,
26:05not that big a gap.
26:06Actually, it's only 2.9
26:07between Deegan and Shimoda.
26:08This one not over.
26:10No, and you wonder
26:11how much Jeremy's
26:12going to bite Joe.
26:13Will he let him go around
26:14like he did Hayden?
26:15And I suspect he probably will.
26:17Once Joe gets to the point
26:18where he's all over,
26:19Jeremy's not going to want
26:20to hold him up,
26:21even though Hayden Deegan's
26:22his teammate.
26:23But at the end of the day,
26:24you got to start wondering
26:26how's Hayden's leg,
26:27you know,
26:28is that thing going to start
26:29coming into factor?
26:30Because for him,
26:31if I'm Hayden Deegan,
26:31I got that injury,
26:32I need to get away.
26:33And this 2.5 seconds
26:34or 3.5 seconds
26:35over Joe Shimoda
26:36isn't big enough,
26:37because we know
26:37how strong he is
26:38at the end of the motos.
26:41Yeah, Deegan at about
26:42two tenths to Shimoda
26:43the last time around.
26:46See the difference,
26:46158.9 versus a 159.1
26:49as they head to the sand
26:50wash again.
26:51Yeah, and these sand rollers
26:59is very important
27:00to kind of stay on top
27:02of those things.
27:02If you get dropped down
27:03in the middle,
27:04one, it slows your momentum down,
27:06it beats you up as a rider,
27:07but you just lose a lot of time.
27:10Now this inside is starting
27:11to play in,
27:12and why that's starting to work
27:13is because it opens up
27:14this next lane,
27:15and if you notice,
27:16Joe went inside in that corner
27:17after the rollers,
27:18he cut down on the next corner
27:20and he's starting to open up
27:21that whole section,
27:22so as the track gets rougher,
27:23that line that Joe's having
27:25is going to play in
27:25because he's starting
27:26to miss all those bumps,
27:27and you can see him
27:27closing in on Jeremy right now.
27:30I've got to imagine
27:31that's a huge adrenaline rush
27:32when Jeremy gets out front
27:34of that first lap.
27:35Can that wear off?
27:36Oh, and there it goes.
27:37There goes Shimoda
27:38up to second around Martin.
27:40Right on cue,
27:41that's what I'm saying.
27:42Is there a moment
27:43where you think reality
27:44starts to sit in?
27:44We're 20 minutes in now.
27:46Or we know he's fit,
27:48so maybe not.
27:48Yeah, well, I mean,
27:50I honestly don't think
27:51it's about fitness,
27:52and then all of a sudden
27:53you come off the couch
27:54and you go up against
27:55Hayden Deegan and Joe Shimoda.
27:56These guys have been
27:57the cream of the crop
27:58in this 250.
27:59I think he's starting
27:59to tighten up.
28:00And how fast this racetrack is,
28:02it's really easy to happen,
28:03and with this hard base,
28:04and I don't care
28:05if you live here or you don't,
28:06it's still a tricky
28:07racetrack for him,
28:08so to me, it's not fitness.
28:10It's more of him tightening up
28:11and just holding your breath,
28:13being in the lead,
28:14going that fast,
28:15coming off the couch,
28:16it'll make anyone tight.
28:17Maybe that's what
28:17he's experiencing.
28:18Yeah, a lot of riders
28:19talking about the track
28:20a little bit harder,
28:21not as deep and fast,
28:23faster compared to previous years.
28:25So that's what you're
28:25talking about a little bit there?
28:26Yeah, and again,
28:28for Jeremy,
28:28it's like he jumped
28:29in the middle of this thing.
28:31He comes out,
28:31he holds shots,
28:32he's leading it,
28:33and, you know,
28:34it just makes you tight,
28:35so they start holding on,
28:36and with this racetrack,
28:37we saw it quickly,
28:38Seth went down,
28:39especially this part
28:40of the racetrack,
28:41it is so fast,
28:42the front end's moving a lot,
28:43and because it is hard,
28:44like you said, Jason,
28:45the bike's always moving,
28:47so if you're a little tight
28:48on the arms,
28:49it's going to be
28:49a long moto for you.
28:51Let's see if Martin
28:52can hold on for a podium
28:54in this moto
28:54and see if Shimoda
28:56can make a run
28:57in the final 10 minutes
28:58toward Deegan.
28:59Yeah, to me right now,
29:02Joe is good
29:03around the whole racetrack,
29:04just the entrance
29:04of his sand rollers.
29:06He hasn't figured
29:07that part out,
29:08so now he goes
29:09outside here.
29:11See how this works out, JT.
29:13Yeah, Joe's trying
29:14to make a run here,
29:15and let's think about
29:15last weekend.
29:16Now, I know that was
29:17against Tom Bial,
29:18this is against Hayden Deegan,
29:19which might be a completely
29:20different conversation,
29:22but Joe had a game plan.
29:23He really wanted
29:24to keep Tom Bial in sight
29:26and withstand
29:26the intensity early
29:28and then wait
29:29in the moto,
29:30Joe really showed up
29:31and he was able
29:31to pass and displace Bial.
29:33This doesn't feel
29:34all that different
29:35than that moto.
29:36The question is,
29:37is Hayden Deegan
29:38a completely different
29:39animal than Tom Bial here?
29:41Yeah, it may be
29:41a different person,
29:42but same story
29:43in that regards, JT.
29:44Actually, in talking
29:45with the team,
29:45they were saying
29:46that they want to see
29:47the battle with Joe
29:48and Deegan,
29:49and so does everybody
29:49else here in the industry.
29:51We want to see
29:51these guys go head-to-head,
29:53and as you're saying,
29:53it's happening right now,
29:54kind of unfolding
29:55in front of our eyes.
29:58Exactly what they're
29:58looking for.
29:59We got exactly
29:59what you're looking
30:00for,
30:01Super Motocross
30:02playoffs.
30:03They return
30:04with racing
30:05on September 6th
30:06in Charlotte,
30:06North Carolina,
30:07September 13th
30:08in St. Louis, Missouri,
30:10and the World Championship
30:11Final in Las Vegas,
30:13Nevada,
30:13the next weekend,
30:14that's September 20th.
30:16As for champions,
30:16are going to be crowned.
30:17For tickets and information,
30:18go to SuperMotocross.com.
30:21Especially that finale
30:22in Vegas,
30:23you folks probably see
30:24on social media
30:24when these riders
30:25with titles,
30:26to big celebrations,
30:27to burnouts
30:27with the team.
30:29Go to the finale.
30:30Someone's going to be
30:31crowned champion
30:32in each class there,
30:33and you can be part
30:34of that celebration.
30:35Right now,
30:36it's all about this
30:37individual moto
30:38at Spring Creek,
30:38and Joe Shimoda
30:39and Hayden Deegan,
30:40they're digging
30:41the last two laps.
30:42Shimoda was actually
30:43about two tenths quicker
30:45than Deegan.
30:45Yeah, I think, Joe,
30:47you can start to see Hayden,
30:49maybe at one point,
30:50if I was Hayden,
30:51if I'm starting to feel
30:52like I can't get away
30:53from him,
30:54you almost start waiting
30:55for him, you know,
30:56not slowing down,
30:57but, you know,
30:57start relaxing
30:58because you know
30:58that battle's going to come,
31:00and I feel like
31:00the difference that's going
31:01to be between last weekend
31:03and Joe battling
31:04Tom Bial and Hayden Deegan,
31:06once Joe gets there,
31:06Hayden's going to put up
31:07a fight, you know,
31:08a different type of fight
31:09than Tom did,
31:10so this race might not be over
31:12even if Joe closes him.
31:14I don't think he's going
31:14to get around him
31:15and just pull away
31:16like he did with Tom Bial
31:17without a fight,
31:18but he's closing the gap
31:19for sure.
31:20Yeah, that was a new theory
31:21I had not heard
31:22that you've explained
31:23to me many times.
31:24You almost save your energy
31:25for the battle.
31:26If you're not going to be
31:27able to avoid the battle,
31:28just be ready
31:28when it happens.
31:30It's like the Muhammad Ali,
31:31you know, fight.
31:32Sometimes you've got to
31:32do a rope-a-dote,
31:33you know, at the end of the day,
31:34if you don't feel like
31:35you knocked the guy out,
31:36well, you've got to do
31:37a different tactic.
31:37You wear him out,
31:38and at some point in this race,
31:40Hayden realized that Joe,
31:42he's not going to be able
31:42to pull away from him enough
31:43to where he's going
31:44to be able to relax.
31:45Joe's going to be there
31:46the whole time,
31:46so just kind of wait for him,
31:48and you can see how quickly
31:48Joe is closing his lap.
31:50And I can tell by
31:51the Hayden's body position,
31:52he's not attacking
31:53the same way.
31:54The tracking is getting rougher.
31:55These outsides are going,
31:57but it seems to me
31:57he's just starting
31:58to wait for him.
32:06And Shimoda continues to close.
32:08He has taken 3.2,
32:10down to 1.3.
32:12That's the gap now.
32:16JT.
32:17Just thinking about Deegan here
32:19and the theory that James has said,
32:20it reminds me of Top Gun
32:22a little bit where Maverick says,
32:24it's no good,
32:25I'm going to bring him in closer.
32:26And his navigator says,
32:28you're going to do what?
32:30That's probably what the team
32:31is thinking right now
32:32listening to James.
32:34I have to wonder also,
32:35James, what about the leg?
32:36Could this be strategy
32:37or could he just be hurting
32:38a little bit from that injury
32:39last week?
32:40Yeah, I mean,
32:40after looking at the Instagram posts,
32:43he might be hurting.
32:44That leg looked pretty bad.
32:45So I would 100% say
32:47if it wasn't for his leg
32:49possibly hurting,
32:50he's doing no rope,
32:51it'll bring him in.
32:52And I know I've been there
32:53on both sides.
32:54The worst thing to do
32:55if you're in Joe Shimoda,
32:56as you see Hayden's leg comes out,
32:58is you catch a guy,
32:59and then all of a sudden
33:00he picks up the pace.
33:01It's very frustrating.
33:02But he goes right by.
33:03I think this might be different.
33:05Shimoda to the lead
33:06just like that.
33:08Yeah, okay.
33:08Then the way Hayden's body language,
33:10this is a leg issue.
33:11I think so.
33:12He would fight harder than that,
33:13right?
33:13Yeah, he would be fighting for himself.
33:16But that's why he does all the work
33:18because now he's got a points lead
33:19so he can afford to get this gap.
33:21But at the same time,
33:22Hayden's Hayden.
33:24He still wants to fight
33:25this thing with Joe.
33:26So it might be mind over matter
33:29now for Deegan
33:30if he can overcome the pain
33:31in that leg.
33:34Jeremy Martin's only
33:35two seconds behind him.
33:36So it was a good ride
33:39by the hometown.
33:41And the fans responding,
33:42by the way, to Shimoda
33:43as he merges with the lead
33:45after the sand whoops.
33:47Well, anytime anybody catches
33:49Hayden Deegan,
33:50you know, that's an accomplishment
33:52itself, especially at the end
33:54of the moto.
33:54So they're giving them props
33:56for now.
33:56But you can see Hayden
33:57when he's hitting some of these
33:58these G outs going down the hill,
34:01it seems like his body's
34:01kind of collapsing.
34:02You start to see him sitting down.
34:04And if you've got any kind
34:05of leg issue,
34:05especially at this speed,
34:07that would be a problem.
34:10The left leg,
34:11talked to his dad, Brian,
34:12yesterday,
34:13actually tore some of the fascia
34:15off of the thigh.
34:17And I said,
34:18does that hurt just when
34:19you have an impact
34:20or does it actually hurt
34:20squatting and riding?
34:21He said, no, it hurts.
34:22He's just got to try
34:23to grit his teeth, JT.
34:24Well, you can see it
34:26in his riding.
34:27If you look closely,
34:27I touched on this early
34:29in the moto.
34:29You could see how aggressive
34:30he was, his body language.
34:31He was overjumping everything,
34:33really manipulating the motorcycle
34:35with his body.
34:36Now he's much more relaxed.
34:37He's kind of working
34:38with the motorcycle.
34:39And what happens is
34:40your leg is just screaming
34:41out in pain.
34:42He doesn't want to take
34:43any hard hits.
34:44He's probably losing strength
34:46in that leg,
34:46pushing so hard early.
34:47It's just a completely
34:48different riding style.
34:49The important thing
34:50here, though,
34:51if he's going to find
34:51any way to try
34:52to win this moto,
34:53he's got to stay close
34:55here in the next lap
34:56or so and try to make
34:57a run out in the last
34:58two laps.
34:58There, you saw some
34:59of the bruising
35:00on the Instagram post.
35:01And Jeremy Martin
35:02still back in third.
35:03And by the way,
35:04we've lost Moseman
35:05who was fourth
35:06and closing on Martin.
35:07He has now gone
35:08back to fifth.
35:09Martin has a big gap
35:10built up on Harrop
35:11who's fourth, Katie.
35:12Yeah, but you know,
35:13Deegan, he might be
35:14hurting right now,
35:15but the team is
35:15continuing to push him.
35:17They're saying reset
35:18and hammer.
35:19Both of those comments
35:19were on his last pit board.
35:21Meanwhile, with Joe Shimoda,
35:22Ben Griffith,
35:23the mechanic over there,
35:24the pit board said
35:25stay smart.
35:26So two very different
35:27conversations going
35:28for these two riders.
35:29And here's what's
35:30interesting, Katie.
35:30Look at this.
35:32Deegan is still right there.
35:34Joe is not pulled away.
35:35Yeah, and I agree
35:37with both those things.
35:38And I think Hayden's
35:39mechanic was telling him
35:40like Joe wasn't getting away
35:41and Hayden,
35:42and this mechanic knows
35:43Hayden, if you sniff it,
35:44you're going to go there
35:45and Hayden's going to
35:46keep pushing.
35:46So stay there.
35:47Joe should have put in
35:48a couple hot laps
35:49to break Hayden
35:50because it looked like
35:50at one point Hayden
35:51was going to just take
35:52a second at this moto.
35:53But since he stayed there,
35:55relaxed, maybe got that
35:56leg recovered,
35:56now looking at the pass.
35:59What problem?
36:00What injury?
36:01What pain?
36:02Deegan back to the lead.
36:03Man, the way he passed Joe
36:05and the way that Joe
36:05looked and responded,
36:07I don't even know
36:07if he knew he was that close
36:08because Joe went outside,
36:09didn't really give
36:11any kind of fight.
36:11I mean, yeah.
36:15Okay.
36:17That's the second time
36:18Deegan has passed
36:19Shimoda in this moto
36:20once early,
36:20now late,
36:21and time is running out.
36:23Two minutes
36:23and two laps to go.
36:27Yeah, Joe needs
36:27to respond quickly here.
36:32Is it possible
36:33to relax for a lap
36:35and then feel a little
36:37better than re-attack?
36:38I got a lot of questions now.
36:40Well, Joe ran a two-minute
36:41that last lap
36:42and it looked like he...
36:43Oh, yes.
36:44He was actually
36:44Shimoda slowing up.
36:45Yeah, and when...
36:47Because of that,
36:48Hayden was like,
36:48well, all right.
36:49I was going to take
36:50the second,
36:50but you're going to
36:51stand here.
36:52You know,
36:52I'm not about
36:53letting anybody go.
36:54So you can see
36:55Joe's intensity.
36:56He's starting to pick it up.
36:57It's almost like
36:57if Joe thought
36:59Hayden gave up.
37:00Yeah.
37:00And, you know,
37:02Hayden was still right there.
37:02So...
37:03And this is what
37:04I was talking about,
37:05the difference
37:06between him and Tom Vial.
37:07I mean,
37:07they just ride differently
37:08and I feel like
37:09with Hayden Deegan,
37:10if you allow him
37:11to stay there,
37:11he's going to fight you
37:12leg, one leg, no legs.
37:14He's going to continue
37:15to fight.
37:15And now,
37:16you see Joe
37:16starting to pick up
37:17the pace
37:17and try to get back
37:18around him.
37:19And Deegan's bike,
37:20by the way,
37:21Martin and the rest
37:21of the team,
37:22they're all running
37:22white.
37:2470th anniversary edition
37:25of the Yamaha today.
37:27So they got the
37:27retro colors
37:28and you can take
37:29an inside look
37:30at Yamaha's
37:31factory-supported race teams
37:32on their YouTube channel.
37:34That's at
37:34Yamaha Motor USA.
37:37New episodes
37:37of Beyond the Gate
37:38every week.
37:40Get to see Hayden Deegan
37:41and the rest of the squad
37:42that they deal with
37:43on race day and beyond.
37:44But the question is,
37:45will they be covering
37:45a Moto win
37:46or not?
37:48Because Shimoda
37:48is going to try
37:49one more time.
37:51Yeah,
37:52now the same thing
37:52is starting to happen.
37:53If Hayden would have
37:54got away from Joe,
37:55maybe it would have
37:55done the same thing.
37:57You know,
37:58Joe would have took second.
37:58But since he's right there,
37:59he's going to keep fighting.
38:01This race is going to go
38:01all the way down
38:02to the end,
38:02I believe.
38:03Yeah,
38:06look at the fastest lap times
38:07last time around.
38:08Shimoda,
38:08that two-minute
38:09absolutely killed him
38:11and gave the lead back.
38:13Let's see what the time is
38:14at the end of this lap.
38:15Send it back,
38:16JT.
38:17Well,
38:17James touched on something
38:18really important there.
38:19I just want to reiterate it.
38:20When Joe got to the lead,
38:22if he did not put in his best laps
38:24and break Hayden right there,
38:25this is what you risk.
38:27And you'll see,
38:28you'll see the best of the best.
38:29Anytime they get to the lead,
38:30their best laps are soon to follow
38:32because they want to get a gap.
38:33They want to break the spirit
38:34of the rider behind them
38:35where they start racing behind them
38:37and they forget about
38:38that guy out front.
38:39This is what happens
38:40when you don't do that.
38:41You allow the rider
38:41to get back into the picture.
38:43Their confidence grows
38:44and Hayden Deegan
38:45now fully believes
38:45he's going to win this moto again.
38:48Absolutely.
38:49Now,
38:50Joe's going to have to go to work
38:51because at the end of the day,
38:53if you let Hayden
38:54get to the two lap board
38:56and he's still winning,
38:56then I believe
38:57he's going to go for it.
38:58The whole moto.
38:59You can see Hayden
39:00making some mistakes.
39:01I mean,
39:01as both of these guys are,
39:02but yeah,
39:03Joe had an opportunity.
39:04He didn't take it
39:05and now he's going to have to
39:06fight this whole race
39:07because of that.
39:08And I think Hayden
39:09was able to figure out
39:10some lines
39:10while he was somewhat relaxing.
39:12He was figuring out
39:13some better lines,
39:14maybe some smoother lines,
39:15figuring out a way
39:16to ride around that injury,
39:18not putting so much weight on it.
39:22Clock's ticking.
39:23Going to be two to go
39:24next time around.
39:35Checking in with Levi Kitchen here.
39:36Not the performance expected
39:38from the rider
39:38who won both motos here
39:39a year ago.
39:40Started 14th.
39:41Has taken a while
39:42to get going.
39:43Now challenging
39:44Max Folland
39:45for ninth.
39:48Yeah,
39:49Levi was just in 12th.
39:50I looked down at him
39:51a couple laps ago,
39:53so either he went down again
39:55and we just didn't see it,
39:56but I thought he would move up
39:57a lot quicker,
39:58especially the last few weekends.
39:59He's had a lot of speed,
40:01but that just shows you
40:02how fast this racetrack is.
40:03And we saw in practice
40:05all these guys
40:06are within, you know,
40:07a second,
40:08a top ten.
40:09So maybe it's a little bit
40:10harder to get around.
40:10As you can see,
40:11now Levi's starting to move forward.
40:12This is what I thought would happen
40:13when I saw him in 14th,
40:15at least getting up.
40:16But he stayed there for a while.
40:17And makes a move.
40:18Oh, no!
40:19Goes down
40:20and takes Folland with him.
40:21And it's going to be
40:23Drew Adams going by.
40:25Oh, bad to worse
40:27for Kitchen.
40:29Wow.
40:30Yeah, bummer for Levi.
40:31It just seems like
40:32the last few weekends,
40:33that's been the issue,
40:35especially last weekend.
40:36That second moto,
40:37you know, a mistake,
40:38you know, a few mistakes
40:39and going into pits.
40:41He had the speed
40:42to win that race.
40:43But another issue.
40:46Yeah, as Nate Thrasher goes by
40:47and now Kitchen has real problems.
40:50Not sure what has happened.
40:51He's trying to hammer
40:52on the motorcycle.
40:52Back to the leaders.
40:54Deegan with a lap rider
40:55between himself and Shimoda.
40:57Two to go.
40:59Very impressive.
40:59Pulling away.
41:00Yeah, very impressive race
41:01by Hayden right here.
41:02I mean, this is where, guys,
41:04when you get into 450,
41:05be able to recover,
41:06not lose your patience.
41:07You know, Joe Shimoda's
41:08been on a roll.
41:09You know how fast he is.
41:10But Hayden to be able to recover,
41:11this is what he's been,
41:12I've been impressed with this kid
41:13his whole career.
41:14But to be able to do that
41:15while injured in mid-race,
41:17pretty special.
41:18Some serious grit
41:22from the 20-24 champ right here.
41:31Lap and a half left.
41:32Yeah, you can see Hayden
41:39sitting down right there
41:41off those landings.
41:42Normally, he would stand up,
41:44keep that by light,
41:44but because his leg
41:45starting to bother him,
41:47he's just starting to absorb
41:48that with his whole body,
41:49take that weight off that leg.
41:50So, again,
41:51these are the things
41:52that all these athletes,
41:53they are adjusting,
41:55not only at lines,
41:56the body-wise,
41:57how the bike is working.
41:58You know,
41:58you don't figure that stuff out
42:00until you're out here.
42:01And the one that can digest the best
42:03is usually your winner.
42:05And Hayden Deegan's figured it out
42:06better, quicker than everybody else.
42:07I think he's put Shimoda away.
42:09Yeah.
42:11Incredible.
42:12Shimoda had him on the ropes
42:13multiple times.
42:16Couldn't quite finish it.
42:17And now the white flag is flying.
42:21Now, so far today,
42:22Hayden's had a little bit more speed
42:24than Joe.
42:25And when I'm watching the race,
42:26Hayden can slow down a little bit.
42:28He's got about a second
42:28and a half on Joe.
42:29Oh, no!
42:30Hamaker from fifth.
42:32Early race leader.
42:34Down and down hard.
42:35Yeah, and I can tell
42:36where he's at right now.
42:37This is that triple uphill
42:38going up Mount Martin.
42:40And the way those handlebars
42:41look and where he's laying,
42:43I think he probably got cross-rutted.
42:45And now it looks like an endo there.
42:46So, tough break for a guy
42:48that was leading this race.
42:49Yeah, it was headed
42:50toward a top five.
42:52Man, that has been the story
42:54for that Monster Pro Circuit
42:55Kawasaki team.
42:57Like you said about Kitchen,
42:58they've shown speed.
42:59Every time they get a run
43:00together, though,
43:02something seems to undo it.
43:04Marchbanks top on that squad
43:06and this one's seventh.
43:07He has been mired in traffic,
43:09especially the last couple of weeks.
43:10Marchbanks, who's been fast all year.
43:13Vial has worked his way
43:13all the way to sixth.
43:16Moseman fifth.
43:17Deegan still looking back
43:18to see the gap to Shimoda.
43:19It's 1.7 now.
43:20Yeah, and what I was saying
43:21about Hayden,
43:22Hayden's had about a second
43:23and a half on Joe
43:24all day long at speed.
43:25So, when Hayden slows down,
43:27he's got a little bit
43:28of gap to play with.
43:29Or for me,
43:30Joe's riding as hard as he can
43:32and that pace that he's not
43:33able to catch Hayden,
43:35which is...
43:36Well, they got to not jump here
43:38because of Hammaker.
43:39Good to see Hammaker
43:41getting back on the bike.
43:42Did Shimoda roll
43:42both of those or not?
43:43Yeah, he did,
43:44but where the cross flag was...
43:45Wait a minute!
43:46Oh, battle for the lead, James.
43:48Yeah, so what do you think
43:48happened on the jump
43:49with the flags out?
43:50Well, Hayden slowed down
43:51because he's the leader,
43:52so he rolled that first jump
43:53and the cross flag wasn't there.
43:55So, Joe doubled,
43:57but it's going to be...
43:58I don't know.
43:59We're going to have to go back
43:59to this game.
44:00That's going to be a judgment call.
44:01Could be a penalty
44:01coming Shimoda's way.
44:03Meanwhile, he almost took the lead.
44:04We got a battle
44:05on the last lap.
44:07Yeah, if Hayden
44:07could get to the inside
44:08on this next jump,
44:09he'll have Joe covered.
44:12He's there.
44:13One turn remains
44:17at the bottom of the hill.
44:20Hayden Deegan
44:21hurting
44:21and winning
44:23the first moto
44:24at Millville.
44:26And Jeremy Martin
44:27is going to put it
44:29on the podium.
44:30Yeah!
44:3090th career moto podium.
44:41And that might feel
44:43better than all of them.
44:46The home track hero
44:48literally
44:49in his retirement race
44:50whole shot
44:51leads
44:51and finishes third.
44:53So cool.
45:04I bet that feels better
45:04than any win
45:05he ever had in his career.
45:06That's awesome.
45:07You got to wonder,
45:08absolutely,
45:09because at this point
45:09he's actually stopping
45:11to take it in,
45:12feel grateful about it.
45:13A little bit of business
45:14but a whole lot of fun
45:15for the number six as well.
45:23Welcome back.
45:23These fans here
45:24at Millville are pumped.
45:26Their native son,
45:27Jeremy Martin,
45:28on the podium.
45:29I say one last time
45:30but there's a second moto
45:31to come
45:32but he does that
45:32at least in moto one.
45:34Third,
45:35Joe Shimoda second.
45:36Hayden Deegan
45:37with the win.
45:38We'll have to see
45:39how they call some of that
45:40as Shimoda was jumping
45:42as they had those
45:42red cross flags
45:43out in the last lap.
45:44Monster Energy
45:45race recap of moto one.
45:46There's the whole shot
45:47from Martin.
45:48That's poetry in motion.
45:49I mean,
45:50he had the perfect start,
45:51perfect angle.
45:52It feels like he knew
45:53where to go on the gate
45:54but Jeremy, man,
45:56he had to float
45:56this whole race.
45:58He had tightened up
45:58a little bit.
45:59You got to wonder
45:59maybe that was just him
46:00not trying to get into battle
46:01but that was a solid ride by him
46:03but Seth Hamaker
46:04going to go down
46:05to inside here
46:06down this hill
46:07and as I mentioned
46:07in the track map,
46:09a lot of time
46:09to be made up,
46:11let off the brakes
46:11and Seth definitely did that.
46:13So Hamaker to the lead
46:15and Martin Chutz fight back.
46:16He's in second
46:17then Hayden Deegan
46:18a key move here
46:19for third on Joe Shimoda.
46:20Yeah,
46:21Hayden Deegan
46:21was really aggressive
46:22from the opening lap
46:23and you knew
46:23especially with Joe Shimoda
46:25he wanted to try to get around him
46:26and try to get a gap.
46:27This was for second
46:28and this was after a few laps.
46:30Jeremy was in second
46:31the whole time
46:32actually starting to close in
46:33on Seth Hamaker
46:33and eventually
46:34he led his teammate by.
46:36This was the moment of the race,
46:37the moment of a few moments
46:39for Seth.
46:39Goes down right here,
46:41saved that crash
46:42from being a lot worse
46:43than what it was
46:44but eventually
46:45it ends up catching him out
46:46as he goes down later
46:47and then this was Joe Shimoda
46:48getting past Jeremy Mountain
46:50off the bottom
46:51of Mount Martin
46:52down there.
46:53Jeremy should know better.
46:54He should know not
46:54to mess that corner up
46:56and Joe Shimoda
46:57kept that pace going.
46:58He was able to get around
46:59Hayden Deegan
47:00and the way he caught him,
47:02the way Hayden's body language,
47:03you would think
47:04this race would be over
47:05but Joe didn't push it.
47:07Hayden stayed there
47:07for another lap,
47:08regrouped,
47:09decided to go old school
47:10Bradshaw style
47:11around him
47:12on the outside
47:13and Hayden Deegan
47:14was able to hang on
47:14to this thing
47:15but yeah,
47:16this is going to be a race
47:17that Joe's feel like
47:18he let slip through
47:18because Hayden was able
47:19to recover
47:20and get it done.
47:21Late in the race
47:21to Levi Kitchen
47:22looking to make a move
47:23into the top 10
47:24with Max Boland
47:25but then goes down
47:26and Boland with him.
47:28Yeah,
47:29just an insult to entry
47:30for Levi.
47:31Just got stuck down
47:32in 14th position
47:33for a while.
47:34Took him a long time
47:34to get going
47:35and then Seth
47:36after running 5th place
47:37to hold Moto
47:38after losing a couple positions
47:39this was only about
47:40a lap and a half go.
47:41He goes down
47:42and yeah,
47:43this is going to be
47:43costly for him
47:44but this is how close it was
47:45but Hayden Deegan
47:46was able to bounce back
47:47and get a win here
47:48the first time
47:49he's ever gotten one
47:50at the here.
47:51That's right.
47:51First ever Moto win
47:52for Deegan
47:53at Spring Creek.
47:54There is the podium
47:56from Martin.
47:57That is incredible
47:58and the crowd
47:59went absolutely wild
48:00in what is his
48:01retirement race.
48:04Deegan with the Moto win
48:05and reestablishing
48:07the order
48:07in the 250 class.
48:09Let's go talk to him
48:13and get the update
48:13on all the strategy
48:14in this race.
48:21Well, Hayden,
48:22you got to the lead there
48:23and then we were wondering
48:24campaign,
48:25kind of what was going on.
48:26Can you walk us through
48:27both the mensical
48:27and the physical side
48:28of that Moto win?
48:30Oh, yeah.
48:30That was a really challenging
48:31Moto mentally.
48:32Man, the pain is what it is,
48:33man.
48:34It was hurting
48:34but I was like,
48:35I got to lock in.
48:35I can't let him beat me.
48:37Definitely catches up
48:38to not riding for a week.
48:39I will say that
48:39but I don't know.
48:40We made it happen.
48:41I seen some of his lines
48:42and was able to pass him
48:43down the hill again
48:43and had a bonsai.
48:45That hill is gnarly.
48:46So, I want to say
48:47good job to J-Mart too.
48:48He was ripping.
48:48I'm sure that's sick
48:49in front of the hometown crowd.
48:51Impressive ride.
48:52We'll see him on it too.
48:57And there you see
48:57the limp from Hayden.
49:00Checking in with Dad there.
49:02Results of the Moto.
49:03Mikkel Harrop continues
49:04to ride well
49:05on the triumph fourth
49:06ahead of Moseman.
49:07They had a battle
49:08of the entire Moto.
49:09Villal from bad start
49:10to sixth.
49:11Marchbank's Adams.
49:12Forkner's ninth
49:13is his first top ten
49:14in a Moto
49:15since 2023.
49:19Boland got up
49:20after the crash
49:20with Kitchen.
49:21He's 10th.
49:21Schwartz, Thrasher,
49:22Kitchen, 13th.
49:24Minnesota's own
49:25Avery Long was 14th.
49:27Smith, Svall.
49:28DeFrancisco, 17th.
49:29Turner, Ross, Chambers
49:31round out the top 20.
49:33And Cole Timbo
49:34picks up the last
49:35championship point
49:36in 21st.
49:38Hamaker, 27th.
49:40Had a good one going
49:40into the late crash.
49:42TJ Albright, Phoenix Honda
49:43ends up 40th
49:45in that one.
49:47Well, we got
49:47Hayden Deegan's side
49:49of the story.
49:50Let's hear it
49:51from Joe Shimoda.
49:57Well, Joe,
49:58you put up a heck of a fight
49:59there.
49:59We actually thought
50:00you might get away there.
50:01Can you walk us
50:02through kind of
50:02those midpoint laps?
50:03You got into the lead
50:04and then Hayden
50:04kind of fought back
50:05from your perspective.
50:06Yeah, I definitely
50:07have to work on my
50:08first couple of
50:09intensity speed.
50:11But, yeah,
50:11I was riding okay.
50:12I got around him.
50:14Lapper, I think,
50:15helped me a little bit,
50:16you know.
50:16He went outside.
50:17I tried to take
50:18that inside middle
50:18run past him
50:20and tried to hold him
50:21off, but I don't know.
50:23I think he saw
50:23my good lines.
50:24I had some pretty
50:25good lines,
50:26and after that,
50:27it was just
50:27an equal pace,
50:28and I couldn't
50:29really, you know,
50:31find an advantage.
50:32So, yeah,
50:33let's do better
50:34in second moto.
50:35Great job.
50:35We'll see you
50:35in the second one.

51:14market, market,
51:16this has to be
51:17the feel-good moment
51:18so far of 2025.
51:20This place was going
51:21crazy when you were
51:23in the lead there.
51:23Just walk us through
51:24what you're thinking
51:24during that moto.
51:25I was trying my best
51:26to not cheer for you
51:27trying to stay
51:28unbiased myself.
51:29Oh, for sure.
51:29I came up here
51:30for opening ceremonies.
51:32They gave me an award.
51:33I burst into tears.
51:34I was like,
51:35I got to lock in
51:35for Moto One,
51:36Moto Two.
51:37I was crying.
51:38I couldn't say anything.
51:39I lined up.
51:40I said,
51:40all right, dude,
51:41these are your last
51:41two motos.
51:43I had the clutch
51:43in the right spot.
51:44The gate dropped.
51:45Next thing you know,
51:45I looked left,
51:46I looked right.
51:47I'm like,
51:47I got it.
51:48And then I went down
51:48the first straightaway.
51:49Everyone roared
51:50and I was like,
51:51let's have a moto.
51:53So in your mind,
51:54how do you balance
51:55wanting to take the risk
51:56of going for that moto win
51:57but also knowing,
51:58hey,
51:59I maybe need to back it down
52:00and take the podium finish too?
52:01For sure.
52:02I learned quite a few tricks
52:03over the years
52:04from some really intelligent,
52:05amazing people.
52:06I've been in this sport
52:0713 years now
52:08as a professional
52:10and I've worked with the best
52:11and a lot of people
52:12and I'm so grateful
52:13for everyone that's helped me
52:14and I know
52:15Mount Martin's kind of
52:17pretty fast and high speed
52:18so I managed the risk there
52:19as the moto went on
52:20and I tried to pick
52:21and choose my battles
52:22and in the places I felt good
52:23I tried to get a little more speed.
52:25Great job.
52:25Let's see you up here
52:25in the second one
52:26to blow the roof off this place.
52:27Couldn't happen for a better guy.
52:40Martin and Deegan
52:41will take the ride back.
52:43Set it to Katie
52:43and get ready for 450 Moto 1.
52:47Lots of people were excited
52:48to see Chase Exxon back
52:49last weekend at Red Bud.
52:50What I loved was
52:51your Instagram post
52:53where you said
52:53you felt like a kid again.
52:54In all of our conversations,
52:55you perform the best
52:57when you're out there
52:57having fun.
52:59How would you rate
52:59the fun right now
53:00when you're back on the bike?
53:02Yeah, it's fun.
53:03Obviously, I'm still
53:05trying to work my way back
53:06to being good again
53:08but it's fun.
53:09It's a new journey for me
53:11coming back in
53:12not really knowing
53:12where I stack up
53:13and I feel like
53:15every time we got on the track
53:16we've gotten better
53:16so today, second qualifying
53:18was better
53:18and this track's really fun.
53:21I grew up not far from here.
53:23I raced here a little bit
53:24when I was younger
53:25so definitely gives me
53:27good vibes
53:27and I'm just hoping
53:29to get a good start
53:30and get out there
53:31and get some good laps
53:32in early
53:32and try and break away.
53:34Best of luck.
53:35I know a lot of people
53:35have that arrow
53:36on the back
53:36for Chase Exxon.
53:37Meanwhile, RJ Hampshire,
53:39third in qualifying
53:40out there today.
53:41People are saying
53:42that these 450
53:43seems to fit your
53:44riding style.
53:45A wee bit more,
53:45you're a little bit more calm.
53:46Do you feel
53:47that same kind of level
53:49of calm yourself
53:49on this bike?
53:50I just don't feel
53:51like I go to war
53:52every weekend right now.
53:53Like, man, I got beat up
53:54for so many years.
53:57It's just nice
53:57having that power.
53:59I feel like I'm getting better
54:00each time out on the bike
54:00right now,
54:01even during the week.
54:02Like, I have, like,
54:03new motivation
54:03that I haven't had in a while.
54:05So, it's nice.
54:06Like I said,
54:07it's motivating.
54:09Happy with where I am
54:10and kind of keep progressing.
54:12Looking forward
54:12to a solid day.
54:13Like, I like this place.
54:16It's good last weekend,
54:17so, yeah,
54:18we can match it this weekend.
54:19Coming out of a fourth
54:20last weekend, Redbug.
54:21Best of luck.
54:24All right, thank you, Katie.
54:25A lot of riders improving,
54:27but they need to
54:27because Chet Lawrence,
54:29well, he's getting better
54:29all the time himself.
54:31Fast qualifier today
54:32at Spring Creek.
