William Shatner spoke with Space.com and local Indiana media about the Total Solar Eclipse and his performance at Indiana University's Hoosier Cosmic Celebration.

00:00well the sun is going to be eclipsed that alone is a monumental event and you know i mean

00:08it happens every year the sun gets in the way of the sun every year but it affects some narrow part

00:16of the earth so that the next one uh over uh indiana will be like a hundred years from now

00:25we'll all be dead i might not be but you guys are going to be dead the next time so it's a it's a

00:32enough it's an it's an event but when you ponder the mystery if you ponder what's taking place in

00:39the heavens it's gargantuan it's perfectly probable that there'll be an enormous thunderstorm the

00:50instant the sun is eclipsed it's also perfectly possible that it'll be a clear bright lovely

00:58warm uh spring day and we will all enjoy the benefits of the hoosier weather what happens if

01:07it's cloudy i don't know it's like looking into the pit of a volcano saying what do we do about

01:18that thing and there's nothing can be done there's nothing can be done i've devised 15 minutes

01:26of me talking to the audience uh 15 minutes before the actual eclipse and because my last words

01:33uh i'm sure will be and now the eclipse and the eclipse happens

01:40the eclipse and the eclipse happens
