07:33important okay these are the five steps you must take when caught in a wildfire step one stay calm
07:44panic can lead to poor decision making take deep breaths and focus on the steps you need to take
07:50step two find a safe zone look for a spot with little or no vegetation like a ditch or a bare
07:58patch of ground consider moving to a large body of water if nearby step 3 protect yourself lie
08:07face down with your mouth and nose close to the ground and cover yourself with water dirt or non
08:13flammable fabric a wool blanket is more flame resistant than a synthetic one step 4 call for
08:23help use your cell phone to contact emergency services and report your location step 5 wait
08:30for the fire to pass stay in your safe zone until immediate danger has passed okay now that you
08:38have learned the five steps of how to survive a wildfire I will tell you a little more so you
08:48completely know what you're doing if you're caught in a wildfire avoid breathing smoke cover your mouth
08:55and nose with a damp cloth or use a dry shirt to filter the air stay low smoke is denser near the
09:04ground so staying low will help you breathe more easily avoid flammable materials stay away from
09:12synthetic clothing and other materials that can easily catch fire listen to emergency alerts pay
09:19attention to warnings and instructions from local authorities evacuate if ordered if you are instructed to
09:27evacuate do so immediately have an evacuation have an evacuation evacuation plan have an evacuation plan know
09:38your evacuation routes and where to go in case of an emergency okay everybody now does anyone have any
